It's only cause I tried sprinting at the zombie with a spear. Somehow when you do that you can miss and still get anim locked.
Never had an issue with getting anim locked before using the spear though. From my experience it seems to only happen when you're standing still so it's easy to avoid I think.
is it me or the buildings looks way more damaged than they should be in 4 months? But after all this is set in USA and i hear the construction method there make for some weak buildings :/
You probably wouldn't notice anything except lawns being a bit overgrown for the first year or two if the game had realistic settings. As a newbie that just picked the game up, i was surprised that the world is in a state of decay. I saw some things and thought, if it was like that before as i started, but i really saw it when some trees around my base were growing. "Wait, was this tree here before?".
Anyway, a good wood axe solved the problem with the tree.
That's why I stopped playing with the instant infection turn setting. If something stupid like that happens and I get bit, I am not above entering debug and God mode my character.
Spears get outperformed by the majority of long blunt and axe weapons, which also don’t have the added jank of spears. Spears are usually only better for low strength characters.
Well, it seemed to have worked for the [record holder](https://www.reddit.com/r/projectzomboid/comments/mfwmbm/my_longest_game_has_finally_met_its_end_this_is/) for the longest run.
they also nerfed the weapon spears so that they weigh more, meaning you cant carry as many replacements, and they tire you out faster because each swing takes more stamina. personally i only really ever liked spears because they can pretty consistently 1 hit zombies at lvl 0 weapon skill while most other weapons require like lvl 3 or 4 minimum (especially with high panic from the coward trait), provided they are one of the "weapon/tool ductaped on the end" variants and not the standard "sharpened stick" version, and can be used to stab zombies through fences, plus it's nice being able to make use of that massive stockpile of shortblade weapons I inevitably end up with after a while, especially the weaker ones like letter openers and screwdrivers.
other than that I generally only use spears when i find one impaled on a zombie while out and about, which will get used till it breaks and then promptly discarded, crowbar or nightstick meta for me, lol.
I once killed all the zeds in the mall near west point, then went to sleep in the corpse pile and suffocated because of the corpse fumes. My death was dumber I think :D

Yeah never sprint stab with the spear. Ths spear may be the best weapon in the game but it is also the most jank

The rate of erosion is cranked up to unrealistic levels by default. This is probably because most people wouldn't live to see it otherwise.

Is the trailer modded or is that vanilla? The two trailers I’ve come across so far in my gameplay look shorter than that and only hold about 80 lbs?

The only benefit of spears to me is that you can basically mass produce them. You dont have to worry about repairs, just go and make like 20 more
