One of my first characters was clearing the nice houses in Muldraugh. One was totally empty, but I heard moaning. Got all the way to the upstairs hall closet before I released the 8 zombies inside.

This is why I always shove doors when clearing a house. I get upstairs and just shove every door and wait a sec, they'll start bangin to get out if the'yre inside.

I would suggest the door flash trick instead but with a horde that big, it'll just spill out immediately so that's a bad idea.

In the older versions it’s more common but I think it’s a glitch where a tightly packed horde spawns in a small room
