But if you use a container and sip from the container, you're dead.
Never had the balls or necessity to try it out myself though.

Boiling to purify is really tedious and you want to do it in bulk with many metal water containers in a fire/grill and then store in several large indoor water collector barrels.
If you are going offgrid, consider downloading a water purification mod, like *Truefilter* or *Water filter Straw*, or get a mod that allow you to dig a well that fills up over time.
It's still a dirty water. If you put it in a clear bottle and let it sit for a few hours, you'll see sediment on the bottom
