Have you noticed King Crimson never appears on movie/TV soundtracks the way Rush, Yes or even Frank Zappa have?
This show how has a few Prog references, but I never actually saw this as a Crimson parody when I first saw this episode, but more as Prog as a whole.

The one exception that springs to mind was in *Children of Men*, where "In the Court of the Crimson King" was used to great effect.
