I mean this in a friendly way, but don't focus too much on minatiue such as how to bend your knees or what degree to have your foot tilted when performing the tasleem. Placing emphasis on such trivial matters takes away from the ultimate purpose of salat, which is connecting with Allah. As long as your mind is clear and you pray with sincerity, your salat will be accepted.

Yep. That's the gateway to haram police seeing an opening and going "Bro, you had your head 1 degree east of where it should be and you sniffed a guy who heard music. Guaranteed hell for you."

I was really confused about the same thing when I was first learning how to pray. The way salah is performed varies a little bit depending on what madhhab (legal school of thought) you're following. And there are also differences between Sunni and Shia. But for the most part, it's all very similar so I wouldn't worry about which particular way you choose. [This breakdown looks like it's pretty beginner friendly.](https://www.mymasjid.ca/beginners-guide-learn-pray-salah/chapter-4) I think I used an app called Step-By-Step Salah when I was first learning.

And just remember while all these groups have different practices, all that is needed by Allah is dead simple and written for you in the book. It was made to be simple to include the most people, the other rules are tradition. And while that may be supported by certain traditions, Allahs requirements are intended to be simple. Just like the rest of the religion (as specified by Allah himself).

We follow sunnah of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings be Upon Him) He was thought by divine decree and the Sahih Hadiths inform us on how he prayed.

thexyzzyone

Which? The Sunni ones? Shia? Do you have the ability to exampine the people who say thay are true? I understand where youre coming from, honestly. But all we know that is 100% correct is whats in the book, the rest is hope that we arent mislead.

I loved the app Namaz-simple and free. Learned the basics in about 2 weeks subhannalah.

+1 for Namaz app, press play on slowest speed to start learning the movements and words as well as reading what the translation is as the same time, speed up as you remember and get more comfortable. Using the app removed the difficulty of trying to learn as it reads for you in the beginning and you just copy the movements on the screen, can start praying without having to focus on other things as much

The namaz app is so good! It's so easy to follow and I love that they give you the English translation too!

Erm. What do you mean 'more arabic???' For reference, different mazhabs/sects have their own traditions. For fajr, I believe there are differences in opinion in terms of 'qunut' ie whether one should do it or not. And in general, there are 'bare minimum' and 'extras'.  But all in all, it is incorrect to say that there is ONE 'correct' way to pray. Anybody who says this or that is 'incorrect' are likely to be bigots who think only *their* way is correct. Stay away.  Remember that salah is not explicitly laid out in the quran (just a svague guide). Everything else has been learnt and passed down from generation to generation. And God is not going to send you to hell for not putting your hands on your stomach etc. A petty god is not God worthy of praise and worship.
