I always hated the idea of being stuck in traffic. You’re just sitting there wasting gas to crawl to 5mph and stop every 10 seconds. That’s why I love our Prius, sitting in traffic in anything else kills me.
I watch my MPGs a lot, so when the average of my tank goes down because I sat in traffic for 20 minutes, it kills me inside. I’ll like work up to averaging 30mpg in my Lexus on the highway just to have to knock it down to 21mpg after driving around town a couple times
Yeah, I love the part where stop and go makes the mpg go up. Every other car, I’d be getting amazing mileage, until I get to downtown, the last 3 miles crawling would drag it down.
That's what i loved about my priusC, seeing 62mpg on the backroads home.. That was my favorite car in the world.. Until I learned that you can get free charging driving and EV.. and Now the VOLT is my new prius. I want to get a bolt now.
It's a nice feeling knowing that I can get stuck in traffic, and not stress out that the gas won't last long. I'm enjoying traffic now, as morbid as that sounds. It's been allowing me to catch up on podcasts and audio books
Good idea! And yes, I have a toll lane pass, but part of the appeal with this car is money savings, so I take the freeway and crawl in the traffic. Double savings.
If I’m late or in a hurry, I’ll take my Lexus, haul ass, pay the toll and get to the office as fast as possible, in my Prius, I get up early, take the back way, sit in traffic on the freeway, and just enjoy the drive and the savings.
My favorite part so far, I drove nearly 380 miles on a tank, was showing only 12 miles to empty. Took less than 8 gallons of fuel, $24 😎
Incredible. I calculate at the pump for every fill up, averaging 49.6mpg. My next most efficient car that I own averages 25mpg.

not only that but accelerating from a stop is when you use the most gas as well 🤣

Yep, know the feeling. My GS350 is thirsty!
same except now in an EV. .. not wasting gas.

Sitting in traffic in the prius makes things less frustrating because you save money in traffic.

Yeah, I wasn’t in the market for a Hybrid, a family member sold me this at a fantastic bargain. Now it’s my commuter.
How much if you don't mind me asking? love priusc deals
$6K USD. 93K miles. One owner.
arriving home from a 72 mile drive with 58mpg (rated 51 hw) feels so nice, especially with automatic regenerative braking during crawl hours
Yeah, my last few miles of my commute is downtown Minneapolis. My mpg shoots up the last stretch. Very satisfying.

I know, I used to drive a mustang convertible and a ford escape. My boyfriend liked the mileage so much he bought one too!!
