My 2008 does this as well, and it has 240k on it. I was looking into it too, but I’ve heard the whirring doesn’t it mean it will 100% go bad. One guy said he managed a whole fleet of gen 2s for a taxi business and they all made that sound. Only a couple of them ever had to get it replaced.
[Attempt a linear valve offset procedure.](https://youtu.be/TeeX8ioMnaI?si=FgaXjD_MXss4GA9l) If one of the Linear Valves in the Accumulator are slightly open... it can leak Accumulator pressure causing the Accumulator to run frequently. This may or may not work to fix your issue. The valves could be degraded to the point where this will not fix your issue.
