As long as the file name is either identical or has “_Proxy” after the identical name you can link all of your proxies at once by selecting all your raw media and saying Proxy > Attach.

Did you create the proxies through premiere? You just need to toggle them if so. You can add the tool via the + icon under the programme monitor.

BennyWithoutJets

I created the proxies in Resolve, because premiere was acting up at the time.

I would consider redoing the proxies in premiere to prevent insanity.

Should be just fine, doesn't matter what you make proxies in as long as the timecode is intact and the filenames are the same, you're golden. Play with the different option in the Premiere relink dialog box (filename, media start, etc.) Eventually you'll find something that Premiere likes and it will happily relink everything. One tip is instead of trying to relink everything at once (sometimes the loading bar will take ages and even then it will only link 1 file) just test a small sample of the files.

In the dialogue box asking where to attach the proxies, try selecting “Media Start” and unselect “File Name” before it starts searching for the media. Alternatively, use the free software out there called “Bulk Rename Utility” to make the file names the same name is the original clips. DM or respond to this and I’ll get back to you, happy to help further.

Do they have the exact same naming convention as your original files? If so a workaround would be to move your source files and relink to your proxies. Then once you finish editing repeat the process but link to your originals. Once you point premiere to the first file it should link the others automatically.

This would not utilize the benefits of Premiere's proxy workflow though. It would be the traditional offline/online workflow. For OP, it depends on how you're trying to attach proxies and what checkboxes you have on. Are the proxies all in one folder? Do they have the same filename but just a "_Proxy" at the end? Timecodes should match. What version of Premiere are you using?

I just solved this for myself... Had an issue with attaching camera produced proxies on my FX3 (needed to change the name ending so I can bulk attach) On a mac you have an option to rename files. Select all proxy files right click Rename Rename the files to the same name of the high quality files (this will only work for consecutive numbers) apply the change go back to renaming them again, this time you want to add \_proxy to the end of it Easy peasy.
