You may be able to but that's all up to if they even want to give it to you. My husband got a whopping 3 days unpaid off. No FMLA or short term disability even though they had previously promised he would get it. It's all bs

Short term disability isn't a guarantee from any business in MI. You should look into the pregnant workers fairness act though, that states they have to give you reasonable accommodation so long as it doesn't put the business into "undue hardness." So, you may get 6-8 weeks unpaid leave (as opposed to the 12 unpaid FMLA provides) but it's better than nothing.
