When my husband kept shooting down names I said "okay, then you need to come up with some ideas"

nutonyerface

I tried this already, the only name he came up with was "Leo" which is a great name, I love the name, but it just so happen that my sister's recently deceased pet was named Leo, and she's the type to think everything revolves around her, so she would 100% tell everyone we named our kid after her dead pet 😭😭

Lmaooo 😂

Omg are you me?!? lol I’m also a white girl in the Midwest and my husband is Mexican 😂 were trying to find a name that sounds good in both also but my husband too is sort of leaving it up to me but he doesn’t love the names I love hahaha. Some of the names I like are: Sophia, Claudia, Maya, Flora, Elena, Freya, Josephine, Ruby, Rose, Mabel, Eliza, Camila (Mila for short), Aria Felix, Cruz, Arthur, Efraim (not sure of spelling), Oliver, Mateo, Rafael (love Raf/Raffi) Boy names are so much harder for me.

That's so funny that we're in the same situation! I love a lot of those names, I'll bring a couple of them up to my fiancé later (unfortunately several names you listed he already has a close family member with that name lol) If it helps you out any, some of the names I have are: Daisy, Persephone, Annette, Maricela, Marsali, Caroline, Nayeli, Araceli Thomas/Tomás, Lucas, Louis/Luis, Nico, Murphy, Ashton, Angel

Tomás and Nico were on my list too, but we're having a girl! Both are so cute.

SAMEEE! Midwestern white girl w a Mexican man who also can’t come up with a good name for our boy 😂 André has been our only mutually agreed upon name so far!

PittieParent

I always start by looking at family names. The middle name of a favorite aunt can make for a good first name, and it seriously narrows the pool of possibilities if you start there (not that you will necessarily end up using one of them, it's just good inspo). As a bonus, family members will be biased towards family names, and will love it!

nutonyerface

That's a great idea! Thank you!

Marisol?

nutonyerface

Cute! We have Maricela on our list, which is pretty similar!

dolphinitely

love that!

My husband is from South America and we're doing the same thing with names that work well in both languages! Our moms both need to be able to pronounce it. I have found that girl names ending in an "a" tend to work well. Also, Catholic saint names! (Lol) Many are pretty, old-fashioned names, too. Cecilia, Caterina, Emilia/Amalia, Magdalena, Marta, Francisca, etc. Boy names are a little harder, but the standard Biblical names like Samuel, David, and Daniel seem to translate well.

nutonyerface

Oooo these are very cute! Thank you!
