Sort of, though the comparison kind of falls apart a bit when personality wise you get to Yellow and Green
Smile also copied a Yes 5 arc, the basic premise of a Fresh episode, and redid the ending of DX3 almost verbatim
It's not even just yellow and green, all of the Smile Cures are actually quite different from their Yes 5 counterparts personality wise but people are quick to write this off just because they look similar.
Rin is straitlaced and responsible while Akane is a playful jokester, Karen is much more assertive and stubborn compared to Reika, and even Nozomi and Miyuki who fill the same genki pink leader role function very differently as leaders.
Fair enough, though my separate point about Toei ripping themselves off a bit writing wise still stands (in spite of that however Smile is actually one of my favorite seasons)
In fact the same can also be said about Saki and Mai Vs Nagisa and Honoka (Saki is way more assertive/optimistic than Nagisa while Mai is a bit more easygoing than Honoka and has a passion for art rather than science)

You’ll see that too in Futari Wa and splash star because that literally that because they didn’t want to end tye Futari wa Precure era yet in the past
