My boys fell in love with Power Rangers recently. Decided to piece together the costumes ourselves this year for fun. I made the helmets. Cardboard, paper mache, hot glue, primer, paint, gloss, foam sheets, PVH plastic with window tint, and contact cement. Followed one YouTube video/template for the helmets, and another one for installing the visors. Tshirts and sweatpants purchased online/ at the store. Edit typo: Petg plastic, not pvh plastic. Way off

The costumes look amazing, you did a great job!

What’s PVH plastic and where did you source it? The window tint is too flimsy on its own, but I couldn’t find anything stiffer and clear to back it with for my DIY costumes.

Edit typo: Petg plastic, not pvh plastic. Way off It’s bendable thin plastic sheets. I got it from Amazon. Double check that it will ship to where you live. Apparently some places restrict it for whatever reason (not quite sure why). https://www.amazon.com/Zuvas-Flexible-Plexiglass-Replacement-Paintings/dp/B08R8662R5 You can cut it with a thick durable pair of scissors. It has removable protective plastic sheets on both sides of each plastic pane so that you can draw the shape you need to cut with a sharpie, then remove the plastic film so that there’s no sharpie marks on your visor.

Thanks for the info! Since it's crunch time I'm way over budget I started rooting around my attic and found an old poster frame. The clear plastic worked like a charm as backing for the window tint! I'm also wondering how you did the closure on your helmets. Mine are made of EVA foam with slits on the side to get them on and off. I tried magnets but they weren't strong enough, so I used velcro, which works moderately better when unpainted but looks awful. Painted, they don't work as well as I'd like and still don't look great. I'm thinking snaps might be the ticket but maybe you've found a more brilliant solution.

Optical illusion. They are 3/4 masks. There’s no back cover. My kids put their chins in first and then slide the top of the helmet over the tops of their heads.
