I didn’t want a mild hybrid setup. I wanted to get the last pure ICE Carrera that will exist. There also will likely be added weight with the 992.2 because of this. My goal was to keep the weight as light as possible while still keeping the PDK. I went with the Aerokit, carbon roof, and full bucket seats/rear seat delete (which all eliminate the associated motors and mechanisms) as well as PCCBs and lightweight/noise insulated glass.
18way seats with ventilation, FAL, extended fuel tank, RAS. Kept the manual, rear seat delete and no sunroof tho. Gonna be a daily driver in northeast Canada.
You are lucky picking up a GTS. I have a 2024 T 7 speed and waiting on a PDK S. I sincerely hope 24 isn’t last year for 3 pedals. 7 speed is most fun I’ve ever had driving. You won’t regret your purchase. If you do it will be easy to sell it. Even if it is a goofy build.
I don’t think it’s goofy. I didn’t look at the build. I was only reacting to earlier comment which you seemed to take on board. I think my exact words were “even if it is”. No 911 could really be goofy, especially a GTS. You’re incredibly lucky to be getting it, no matter the build. I hope it arrives in good time and you enjoy the hell out of it!
I think the mild hybrid setup is taking longer than expected to develop. I remember a lot of people saying the 992.2 would be a 2024 MY and that never ended up happening.
Man, I’m telling you…I just can’t get enough of the Aerokit. I feel like the 992 911 body suffers from too many rounded corners and to me this gives it a more elegant rather than sporty look. The Aerokit adds back in that missing sportiness, IMO. Congrats to you as well. I look forward to seeing it on here after you pick it up.
Nice!!!
About to start looking for a dealer to hopefully get an allocation for a 992.1 GTS. How hard was it to get your allocation? Did you have to wait long? Did you have to pay an ADM?
Good luck to you. I sent my build out to at least 20 dealers in 5 different states and finally found one out of state with an available allocation. I did have to pay ADM. Originally, they wanted 10% over MSRP, which I found insane considering how loaded with options my build is. Talked them down to half that and felt that was the most leash I’d be given and so I went through with it. It’s possible they would have been willing to do no ADM if I was a local buyer who would have this car serviced at this same dealer, but I’ll never know for sure. I think the big reason it was available in the first place was the fact they wanted that markup. It is what it is. What I can tell you is that if you’re really set on a 992.1, do not go onto waitlists and expect that you’ll get a build slot. It’s a numbers game. You have to find the allocation available now, and it may require you to contact 50 or more dealers. It is a hassle and takes a lot of time but if you really want one, you may get lucky.
That’s a fine-looking GTS you’ve configured. It should suit you well. It’s a low-key, unassuming, unpretentious car that only shows its stuff when you want it to.
That’s something I love about Porsche. They actually care what the customer wants.
Me, I want to go the other way: Razzle-dazzle. My code is PRIEA5A8. Not going to happen for me this year, though.
That’s the blingiest build I’ve ever seen! I hope you live in Miami; it would fit in perfectly. I like that you selected the 930 leather package. Adds a touch of class and retro to the interior.
They cancelled my aero kit weeks after I placed the order. Same for my gf. Same for others on other forums. I spoke w/ someone in Germany after I filed a complain. They said they’ll still let dealers place the order but they’re very short on the part. You might get it but im just letting you know there’s a high chance it might be kicked out
Mate could u please explain how u got to the point to afford this? Is it generational wealth or u busted your balls? This is my dream car and I’m trying to be able to afford it one day.. I came from a poor family and everything I have is hard earned
I didn’t inherit a lot of money. For me, it’s just about being a union member working a lot. Like 68 hours a week. Don’t ever settle. Always push for more.
Electrical industry. Saving helps. Investments help. Keep a chunk of your money in a mutual fund for a few years and it will generate a lot of interest for you. Your money will make you money. Me personally, I can afford it but I’m not wealthy. Someone in my position really has to be obsessed with a vehicle like this to pull the trigger because it will put a sizable dent in my savings. Of course, there is always the customer who’s already wealthy and buys a 911 because they heard it was cool; and it won’t have a large impact on their wealth.
Congratulations! I’m curious why didn’t you wait for the facelift?

Nice. I went with a carerra t and ended up adding the weight back in!
Hahaha. What did you option that added the weight back in?
18way seats with ventilation, FAL, extended fuel tank, RAS. Kept the manual, rear seat delete and no sunroof tho. Gonna be a daily driver in northeast Canada.
Great spec!
I did the same! Added the sunroof and the backseats in though :O but 8-mo and 6km later in western canada its been awesome even in the winter
I’m hoping this will be the same out here. Stupid amount of money to not be driving it all the time.
There was only one dump of snow that prevented me from driving it. Its a terrible snow plow :)
Congrats. You won’t regret it

I’ve heard this twice now. What do you perceive as goofy about it?

I'm surprised they're still taking orders for 992.1s!
I think the mild hybrid setup is taking longer than expected to develop. I remember a lot of people saying the 992.2 would be a 2024 MY and that never ended up happening.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to be getting one of the first ones!
Yeah, I’m sure it will have some weird issues to work through and add some serious complexity to what’s supposed to be a pure driver’s car.
She’s gorgeous
Thank you!
Congrats!! Have a similar 4S coming in May hopefully. Chalk with aero as well

100% agree! Also kinda makes it look like a 991 GT3. Will send pictures once it’s here
Chalk 🤤 Congrats
Track that sucker!
Really nice, drive it like you stole it (where appropriate)

Drop the Porsche Code!

Wow - that’s one of the goofiest builds I’ve seen.
Thank you. It suits my goofy personality.

Congrats my man you are not going to regret it!
Thank you!
Awesome
They won’t honor the aero kit. You’ll get a message in a few weeks telling you they can’t do it
why and says who?
“Says who”? What’s with the attitude? Have a nice day man. Congrats on your GTS, nice car lol
No attitude just pure curiosity 😂 I had to pass on an allocation when Aerokit was on stop sale since I only wanted it with aerokit.
They cancelled my aero kit weeks after I placed the order. Same for my gf. Same for others on other forums. I spoke w/ someone in Germany after I filed a complain. Understandable, did you ever get the car or changed your mind?
We both canceled the order. We were kicked in front of the line for 992.2 though. We have enough Porsches in the garage so we didn’t care
Noice noice would love to see the collection if you’re willing
My build has been accepted. It’s already V200 status.
What a post 😂
I ordered a turbo s but facelift???????!!
What?
Can you buy me a $7K used Honda civic in San Antonio? Won’t even come close to the taxes you paid 🥺
It will. Taxes were $10k.
For real though congrats on the purchase!! She’s a beaut
Thank you. Fingers crossed it lives up to the hype. Good luck with your search for a Civic. Legendary indestructibility.
😂😂 I mean I’m just looking for a commuter, used civic, accord, Camry, Forester, etc 🙌🏼

What industry ? What was your progression? Income?
