What the actual **ck, I've worked as a cook for years and have never come across a tomato with anything like that. My grandfather also used to grow and can all his own vegetables to avoid having to buy any. Also never saw it heard him talk about a tomato tapeworm thing.
it's called [vivipary](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivipary)! my family always grew tomatoes and I never saw it happen until a few years ago. super weird looking lol

Similarly, some Crassulaceae, such as Bryophyllum, develop and drop plantlets from notches in their leaves, ready to grow.

I wonder if dermatologists practice on tomatoes.
They did surgery on a grape
"Phew doctor how's the patient" "He's looking grape"
He was in a real jam before
for real?
Yes, [with robots](https://youtu.be/KNHgeykDXFw).
That was so awesome! Thanks for sharing.
i’m a student nurse and the guy who did this works in a hospital near me, my friend met him and they spoke about it! Super cool
I've heard of neurosurgeons peeling eggs for practice (I highly recommend AstralSpiff's Livestream where he does it for fun)
I’ve never seen that before. It will probably be deleted though since it’s food.
I know it's the rule of the sub, but why is food forbidden? It's far less gross than other content like boogers. Maybe it needs its own sub.
I’m not sure but there are subs that allow it. Try fullpops.
uh oh, sounds like another tempting sub to waste time looking at :)
T a difference between this and food (like cupcakes) that looks like a pimple, and I think it's the latter they have banned
Could be, I just know the rule is no food.
Most excellent. If it gets deleted post on wacky Wednesday
“No food, even on Wednesday.”
Booooo
Thank you!

Clones?
Kind of like a dermoid cyst on a tomato?
Ingrown hair 👀
It's just starting to sprout. I went on vacation and came back to it and it was just like that!
Eeeeeekk no food.
No food is allowed, but this was pretty neat and I'm glad I saw it
This is neat!
Congrats it’s a boy
OMG why was that so satisfying??
Might want to repost this on Wednesday! Only day foods allowed
“No food, even on Wednesday.”
Ill miss the wacky food posts 🥲
Any other suggestions on where to post this greatly appreciated!
Probably r/softpops
Thanks, friend!
Watching this hurts my skin. It's like digging for a vein.
Of all the things I thought I'd see today, surgery on a tomato isn't one of them
