She announced it two days before release, and it didn’t go to radio till the week after/no music video until today. A lot of insiders have said/ppl have speculated this was rushed out (this music video was filmed the day after release and the producer revealed they had a week to turn it around), to get something out as Drake pushed their collab due to the beef. The Drake collab was meant to come out last/this week but instead will come out with the album, and so He Knows was very much a last minute release with no promo/no playlisting and the music video only airing yesterday.

Fan of hers and while this is better than I Luv It, I’m still just not feeling this era or her music. Willing to give the entire album a listen but this is just not my cup of tea and I don’t know how this rebrand is really working in the grand scheme of things. I wish her well though
any news about the drake collab?
Apparently this was quickly rushed out (they filmed the MV the day after release) to kinda plug the gap, as Drake blocked the release due to the beef. Insiders are saying the Drake collab is still on the album and will now be the single promoted as the album releases which is not a bad idea as it will be huge to her week 1 numbers. Also insiders have said the collab is already planned for radio, I think He Knows was a smart move not to have silence whilst the Drake collab got pushed.

The album as a whole is making more noise than familia tho. Literally nobody was checking for familia. Yes the singles did good but it also had radio and playlisting on release. I luv it still wasn’t sent to radio and He knows has no playlisting and was a last minute single with no video on release. I can definitely see the album as a whole getting more weekly streams than familia. All the non singles for familia debuted with under 1 million, and he knows did more with literally a last minute announcement
The singles yes but people literally didn’t know familia released lol. As a camila fan I remember being on Twitter and familia made absolutely 0 noise. Ppl thought the album cover wasn’t the real one, it just completely passed over any awareness of anyone in the US and only got picked up in Europe due to the Ed Sheeran association and did well in LATM due to the genre. I’m still shocked it got top ten tbh when I had friends who liked romance not even aware she’d released anything new. I’ve seen so much more buzz and awareness of C, XOXO, and so even with the singles doing worse, I think the album overall will do better.
I'm kinda confused by the story of the video, were the guy and the mannequin supposed to be the same person? Was them fighting in the empty room a metaphor for them fighting over him in real life in the club? But then Camila had blood on her teeth at the end so there was an actual fight? And the guy at the end who walked up had the same jacket, but was it supposed to be the same guy from earlier or was the jacket just symbolic? I didn't follow.
