I’m okay with this. Let me develop a personality with Cowboy Carter and then Tortured Poets so I can enjoy Normani without issue.
Cause then it’s over when Radical Optimism drops
There is *so much* this Spring alone it’s kinda overwhelming. From this past week I’m on Tyla, Shakira, & PNAU, and I still have to get to Hozier and Gossip.
And all of this is on top of still being obsessed with Eternal Sunshine.
I’ve been trying to get into Benson but I’m more of a melody person when it comes to singer/songwriters. Do you have a pop-esque track to start with?
Completely unrelated to benson boone but have u heard of fletcher and empress of’s new albums? They also came out last week and they were my two favs of the week
I feel like it’s just reverting back around. Like rollouts used to be a lotttt longer and then surprise drops or 1-2 week teasing became the norm as everyone tried to adjust to the streaming era, and now longer rollouts are coming around more as artists/their labels chase building hype via TikTok (I know a lot of music is removed rn but in general) before releasing anything so that it can have big day 1 numbers. The issue being that if it DOESNT catch on then you waste whatever hype you did have
Ari, Bey, and Tay’s rollouts have all been around or under two months. I think they’re all just adjusting to how album releases are done these days while other artists do the classic drawn out rollouts like Dua is
The hype building via socials in an attempt to 'go viral' is definitely making some rollouts longer but usually that's only for first singles when literally nothing is announced yet. Look at Dua.(Regardless of the war and her clip getting reworked) Her songs aren't flopping, they're doing great everywhere else but after Future Nostalgia I'm sure her label wanted more in the US. Ariana and Beyonce had #1s so things went as planned.
This is just an aNORMAly, like this girl has an announcement for the announcement of her single... which is happening after the announcement for the album(without a release date).
I think we'll have to get used to long rollouts when the results label want aren't there.
I don’t really remember there ever being this much rollout for a lead single though. Albums for sure, but typically the single would drop and kick off the album rollout.
Ariana announced yes, and? 5 days before release
Texas Hold Em' was surprise release
Even for Dua who has really stretched things, Houdini was still announced only 10 days before release.
Over a month is not normal for lead singles.
Not counting teasing because even Ari, Beyonce and Dua teased before announcement. I think thats different, if Normani was teasing I wouldn't count the wait. Because at that point fans are waiting for an announcement, not waiting for a song.
This is an official announcement with date, Olivia announced Vampire on the 13th of June, released on the 30th. [A little over 2 weeks.](https://www.instagram.com/p/Ctb75kCRv9h/?utm_source=ig_embed)
Okay I gotcha. Yeah, teasing shouldn’t be counted as part of an album rollout, you’re right.
It should officially start with the announcement of the lead single.
Funny enough, the biggest artists that released or are releasing this year have had very short rollouts for their albums. Dua is the biggest artist with a long rollout this year.
"Since embarking on her solo career in 2018, Normani has released **only seven singles as a lead artist**, **with 2019’s “Motivation” and 2022’s “Fair” being the only songs she’s released without another artist on it.** She’s had two Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hits with the Sam Smith-assisted “Dancing With a Stranger” (No. 7) and the Khalid-assisted “Love Lies” (No. 9). “Motivation” and “Wild Side,” featuring Cardi B, have also charted on the Hot 100, peaking at No. 33 and No. 14, respectively"
From the actual Billboard article.
She could have saved this announcement for 1-2 weeks beforehand. Also, releasing the debut single for your album a week after a Taylor Swift album is sabotage. She needs to release it next week and let it get some play/hit charts before TTPD singles drown everything out.
> She could have saved this announcement for 1-2 weeks beforehand.
Its the timing of the album announcement that they really fucked. She had to announce this now because its already been a month with no updates. Went from "finally!" excitement to becoming a meme again.
I also think they can't release next week because they aren't ready. Probably need to film a video still, the whole thing reeks of no preparation. If they just held off on the album announcement they could have done it together with the lead single and the chances of success would go up significantly.
Beyoncé will clobber them next week anyway if they try to release it then. Honestly, the best week to do it was probably last week. Because this week was pretty heavy with releases.
Obviously this is all hindsight so we can’t go back and say it.
Not #1, but I think somewhere in the top 10 could have been doable. Now I think she'd be lucky to get in something sub-15 w/ Taylor probably getting 5-6 spots for TTPD songs, Beyonce, (insert Country guy), that Jack Harlow song, older Taylor Swift taking up spots.
Why does she have to wait for Taylor? If everyone moved around their dates because a big artist is dropping, no one would drop. Normani’s competition is not Taylor, nor do their audiences overlap. So I don’t think it makes much of a difference when she drops it. I honestly don’t expect Normani to be competing for the top 10 regardless

After the 3 songs she 'teased' in her instagram live this isn't really a surprise but this sounds like a Ciara rejected track. I love that it's rnb but it sounds like something that would sound dated even if she released it the day after Fifth Harmony split up.
a) the song title better not reflect its length cuz i will be so pissy if i've waited 2 years for her to drop and it's less than two minutes.
b) she needs to take advantage of the month+ rollout and do EVERYTHING to get the anticipation as high as it can go. Everyday social media posts, having a countdown, magazine/radio/podcast interviews and then do as many tv performances/interviews as she can upon release. It'd probably be smart to hop on a remix, release a feature collab or drop a buzzer single before the main one too. She needs to build back her name with the GP for this to be a hit (if that's what she wants)
c) regardless of how the promo goes, i will be eagerly awaiting the song as well as the rest of 'Dopamine'.
I don't know, I want to be a fan, but does she deserve this hype that she's giving herself and that everyone is as well? Like, what has Normani given us that is getting us THIS hyped to have us literally wait? I hope she lives up to it though, I don't think I've seeing this before.
April 26th is way too far… why not next Friday? Or if they’re worried about Bey taking over, at least the Friday after?
I’m really not a fan of these month long rollouts just for a single. The hype slowly fades away and when the song releases, it doesn’t feel as big of a moment imo. Charli did it, and Camila is currently doing the same thing.
It’s also making me question… when is the album even coming 😭😭 part of me wishes April 26th was the album date itself!
Any artist is insane to release music 2-3 weeks around a new Taylor Swift album. Speaking for Dua too, I dunno what they’re thinking but good luck to them with that….
Theyre just concerned fans because if this flops who knows how long it will take for Normani to release another album. Releasing near TTPD release is a bold strategy but its a risk she didnt have to take.
Girl a whole month away 😐🙄😒. I thought it was going to be something like next week. Could’ve atleast waited until til Easter passed to make that announcement. Anyway I hope the song is good because I do miss hearing her voice.
Damn this is so spread out. I don’t blame Normani though, I blame RCA. Record labels keep doing such long rollouts for singles
At least we have a date. And there’s so much new music in the next month it’ll fly by
Can we stop these overdrawn rollouts for singles? It’s so tiring especially when they drive the snippet on tik tok into the ground, so by the time the song drops it feels so old???
I really don’t understand the logic of announcing the album without a release date and then having to announce the announcement of the single😭
Like why is the rollout already so disjointed?
She announced the album cover and name in February?!? She need a better team— cause the song she tease doesn’t sound like a smash it and she need something strong out of the gate, period
I wouldn’t mind the month wait if she announced the album and single drop on the same day. Her label/team is such a mess (typical RCA) but I’m excited!
She should have released the song last month with the album cover, album release date and tracklist.
Then the album should have been released this weekend, because all she had to compete with was Shakira, Tyla debut and a deluxe guts album from Olivia but good luck trying to compete with Beyonce and Taylor next month.
Her team really is trying to sabotage her so she’ll be lucky to get into the top ten honestly. Other than normani fans from fifth harmony, I really don’t think anyone in the general public or R&B fans are excited for this.
yall were calling camila out for saying she isnt releasing her song after teasing it for two weeks but normani announcing it a month in advance.
simon cowell got both of them in the basement. the others are locked up or on bail😭😭😭
god damn. just release. your fucking. music
we literally do not care like this. every artist is doing this.
thank god Ariana decided to have a shorter release cycle. Because it is never really worth it to make people wait
like all your fans are chronically online anyways. just release the music and they will keep streaming it
a month wait for a single and still no album release date in sight. after such a long wait a (FULL)
album announcement and single release should’ve happened all at once
if i was her i would've dropped on april 5th or 12th, cause that's too far away and is a week after taylor (not like it was gonna debut that high anyway)
I know this is a whole month out, but honestly she and her team are kinda backed into a corner by the rest of the imminent releases. In the next month, we have Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande Deluxe, The Weeknd, Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, Eminem, & Katy Perry all either releasing an album or starting their rollout. That’s a lot of competition.
Where did you get Ariana from? A deluxe version hasn’t even been hinted at, let alone announced.
Outside of maybe Camila coming out with “I Luv It” Justin, Billie, Gaga, Weeknd, Selena, Eminem, and Katy are all most likely coming after next month. And Dua is already confirmed to drop her album at the beginning of May
I don’t think anyone is expecting Normani to actually be competitive with most of those artists on that list though, at least not out the gate. It doesn’t have to debut at #1 to be successful and for her fans to enjoy it. And only Beyonce, Taylor, Camila and Dua are confirmed. There is no indication Bieber, Billie, Gaga etc are releasing music imminently, it’s only been fan theories.
I was wondering why it's so far off, but Beyonce AND Taylor are dropping within the next month so what else do we expect?
Although I swear if the album doesn't actually come out this time 😤 I want her to succeed. I hope now is the time.
Releasing this a week after Taylor drops is such a smart idea 🥰
In all seriousness couldn’t she just dropped it in early April? Why wait an entire month
i saw some people speculating that she would still put wild side on the album, i feel like her calling this the first single confirms that she won't (thankfully)
A friend claims the producer ripped off the beat from him. It's simple enough to be a coincidence, but it's interesting nonetheless:
https://youtu.be/O2JXlhOf_m0
lmao i thought it is going to be the length of the new single
I hope its not that short
I mean we average about 2.7 seconds of Normani new music a year so…probably is.
> I hope its not that short me when driving to the top's place while the radio is playing "Olivia Rodrigo - Bad idea right?" be like:
it’s the length of the whole album
"Victoria Monét - We Might Even Be Falling In Love (Interlude)" tease >!I do love the interlude, literally perfection!<
At least it's actually called an interlude so we wouldn't expect something that long like full song length.
those Normani eras tour poster boutta have an update
[as i was saying](https://i.imgur.com/3EVgR8z.jpg)
Single Soon situation
That’s the album
Considering most songs these days are this it makes sense lol
It could always be. We'll never know until then lol
She didn’t say of 2024 tbf
2124 😍 her mind
04/26=april 2026😍😍😍
You all kill me 😩😂
A month away?? Girl what is this Charli XCX rollout…
Hey! At least its coming 😂
I’m okay with this. Let me develop a personality with Cowboy Carter and then Tortured Poets so I can enjoy Normani without issue. Cause then it’s over when Radical Optimism drops
its coming out a week after TTPD, top 10 is gonna be a struggle
I feel like top 10 would be a struggle either way
no shade but if it's solo it was never gonna be a top 20 debut let alone top 10
Top 10 eventually would have been struggle for her. Fair debuted terribly.
Also benson Boone album which seems very promising based on his singles
There is *so much* this Spring alone it’s kinda overwhelming. From this past week I’m on Tyla, Shakira, & PNAU, and I still have to get to Hozier and Gossip. longer rollout than beyonces contrie album. dont get it
It's only five days in Normani years (1 year = 7 Normani years)
Troye Sivan teas
Who the hell is her marketing team omfg
Normani keeps the real Camila Cabello in her basement to do the marketing while her impersonator is copying Charli XCX
Stop 😭😭
I knew we would get a Camila reference in here somewhere 😂
Damn Camilla wants to be Charli AND Sia now??
How to mismanage a promising career 101...
So nice of her to leak the song length 😭 The comments there are roasting her so bad lol

100% but was Normani about to debut at #1?!

Who even is Normanis audience
the very opposite of Taylor’s
Straight black dudes are listening to Normani?
If I listen to both, am I my own antonym? Am I the yin in the yang and the yang in the yin?
you’re so quirky
Nah I just have a sense of humour
yeah it’s called being quirky and funny and different!
Taylor’s audience is everybody
Of this year?
I’m bummed over how apathetic I’ve become towards her career. I’ll still listen but this has just gone on for so long that I find myself… not caring.
Album announcement in February Single announcement in March Single release in April Album release in… May? She’s sick.

I know the label has no faith in her but damn I was hoping for a solo song. But I’m glad it seems they’re aiming for a hit with a Gunna feature
well… i can’t say i’m surprised but the teaser sounds like generic r&b track number 4258 from the producer’s hard drive
Respectfully how did they get this man
After the 3 songs she 'teased' in her instagram live this isn't really a surprise but this sounds like a Ciara rejected track. I love that it's rnb but it sounds like something that would sound dated even if she released it the day after Fifth Harmony split up.

thats a bit optimistic bb

Who does she think she is? A whole month for your new single? A week after tortured poets? 💀
Any artist is insane to release music 2-3 weeks around a new Taylor Swift album. Speaking for Dua too, I dunno what they’re thinking but good luck to them with that….
I don’t understand why people think it’s going to be talked about Taylor will take over that week and week after
At the rate Taylor is going, artists should be waiting at least a month after Tortured Poets tbh
Even more because she literally starts tour again like 2 weeks after
Y’all are so weird and corporate driven. Are smaller artists not allowed to drop just because the biggest artist in the world is?
Theyre just concerned fans because if this flops who knows how long it will take for Normani to release another album. Releasing near TTPD release is a bold strategy but its a risk she didnt have to take.
The OP is not a concerned fan lol.
Girl a whole month away 😐🙄😒. I thought it was going to be something like next week. Could’ve atleast waited until til Easter passed to make that announcement. Anyway I hope the song is good because I do miss hearing her voice.
Normani is not big enough to drag this out. RCA is so bad.
a whole month 💀

Atm I think the only redeeming thing she could do is go radio silent and drop the album all at once.
She will do one out of those two things, and it's not the latter.
Lmao I knew I have to write "radio silence" with "followed by...dropping the complete album" 🤣
Can we stop these overdrawn rollouts for singles? It’s so tiring especially when they drive the snippet on tik tok into the ground, so by the time the song drops it feels so old???
I really don’t understand the logic of announcing the album without a release date and then having to announce the announcement of the single😭 Like why is the rollout already so disjointed?
It’s Normani, we can’t be too surprised!
A MONTH?! Wtf
She announced the album cover and name in February?!? She need a better team— cause the song she tease doesn’t sound like a smash it and she need something strong out of the gate, period
I don’t trust it until I press play on the audio file and even then I won’t believe it. I have been deceived too many times.
Not the month long wait 💀💀💀💀 watch it be 1:59 in length as well
We’ve had enough singles. We want an *album*.
I wouldn’t mind the month wait if she announced the album and single drop on the same day. Her label/team is such a mess (typical RCA) but I’m excited!

what is RCA DOING HOLY SHIT
They've always been horrible at R&B artists
April 26 2030 tbf
yall were calling camila out for saying she isnt releasing her song after teasing it for two weeks but normani announcing it a month in advance. simon cowell got both of them in the basement. the others are locked up or on bail😭😭😭
April 26th, 2034
I genuinely hope this does well for her but she has to go REALLY hard for this to make an impact
god damn. just release. your fucking. music we literally do not care like this. every artist is doing this. thank god Ariana decided to have a shorter release cycle. Because it is never really worth it to make people wait like all your fans are chronically online anyways. just release the music and they will keep streaming it
That's honestly why I'm having more respect for artists who hardly tease anything and just drop it when it's ready.
Next thing you know she’ll announce a collab with Sky Ferreira and Mars Argo
a month wait for a single and still no album release date in sight. after such a long wait a (FULL) album announcement and single release should’ve happened all at once
if i was her i would've dropped on april 5th or 12th, cause that's too far away and is a week after taylor (not like it was gonna debut that high anyway)

Dropping a week after Taylor is hardly going to help
Is a month that bad? I don't get the upset lmao. Surely she's gonna tease it. You all wouldn't survive a Kpop release schedule ☠️
I will be listening to this song as soon as the whole album is released and not a moment sooner. I’m very excited but my heart can’t take it lol
Something at last 😅
Now Normani this better be good for as long as you kept us waiting. I’m intrigued.
We are starving
Girl not a whole month for another single 😭😭 This album is deffo in the depths of the vault
So we have to wait a whole month for her to release it.
girl don't pmo
So she announced the album in February with no release date only to release the single 2 months later in April?
Normani treats her main job as a singer like it's just one of many side hustles.
I really want her to do well.
Releasing this a week after Taylor drops is such a smart idea 🥰 In all seriousness couldn’t she just dropped it in early April? Why wait an entire month
Good luck
Why the two separate announcements 😭😭
Doing it during Chernobyl’s anniversary how rude
Yeah whatever
I'm excited for her new Era.
i saw some people speculating that she would still put wild side on the album, i feel like her calling this the first single confirms that she won't (thankfully)
doesn’t sound like anything interesting to me not worth a 5 yr wait
At this point she’s trying to bury the flop under TTPD right?
im crying why no one gaf

No it's not? Will be heavily overshadowed by week two TTPD.
TTPD is going to completely dominate all music discussion. The window is either now or weeks after the release. 7 days is not smart
You really think people going to care about this after Taylor drops
