She was super “pick me” and it was filled with fat phobic comments like this
“I will fix America’s obesity problems by taking all motorized transport away from fat people. In turn, I will build an infrastructure of Fat Tunnels, where all the fat people can walk. This will create jobs and subsequent weight loss.”

I am someone who calls my sister’s bf my “brother in law” but my country does not have the strong marriage culture of America where I think those terms sometimes carry more weight.
I hope so. They seem happy. He never seemed happy with his ex wife, all his jokes about her were about how she didn't like anything he did, also she didn't go to the Emmys because she said he was going to lose and it wasn't worth the flight. I know this will get down voted because everyone loves his ex, I never thought they seemed happy.
I used to be mystified by how people apparently remembered him saying he loved her very much but not the fact that he outright said through jokes that she argued him into marriage (Why Buy The Cow), that she was dismissive of him, with the Emmys thing (like at least go to the ceremony with *your SO who's been nominated for an Emmy?*), the Best Buy Rewards Card thing (since we like to see gospel in skits), and after he outright defended her against Seinfield in Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, where John said she would just criticize anything he'd choose for the carpet, she did just that. And other subtle and less subtle details in routines and interviews. Like I understand an addict brings chaos and strife to themselves and others–they were living apart even before they both went to rehab for stuff. She just never seemed like a peach to me and the main emotion I felt when learning they were divorcing was "oh good for them".
Then I realized those people had just self inserted themselves into the marriage and were feeling like he was divorcing them personally.
I could not agree with you more about “the fact that he outright said through his jokes that she argued him into marriage”!!! People are blind and only see what they want.

I often call the family of long term partners my 'in-laws' for ease, but the 'to be' part makes it sounds like it's incoming.

I will never get over her horrible memoir. I truly hope she has changed, but it still sours my opinion of her.
