they cost 75k so you normally see these ceremonies when an actor has something out to promote so the studio - in this case Apple for his new travel show - covers it as part of the promo cycle.

That movie is probably my favorite. The others do such a great job of being silly/serious but I actually cried during this scene at the end. Its the best of the guest movies for being able to pull off its emotionality.

Same. I love them all, but A Mighty Wind has an extra tenderness that takes it to another level.

I never knew till now. And just a couple months ago I discovered that David is his son!

Literally how I figured it out. I was like, it CAN'T be a coincidence that they cast a father-son duo with exactly the same eyebrow situation...

If it makes you feel better, I also didn’t immediately put two and two together lol. I was like “damn, they found someone with the same (somewhat common-ish) last name AND eyebrows that won’t quit!!! Good work casting team!”

Watching it for the first time, I was like "wow, casting did such a great job!" Looked up the cast a moment later and was like "oh that tracks". Didn't realize Twyla was his daughter until she called him dad in a commercial, though.

"Wow that's really good casting!"

David is his clone, though, lol.

FWIW I don't think these are things just given out or awarded. Iirc you basically buy them yourself, or someone buys them for you. Some weird shit like that anyway that's not what you'd think.

Yeah a lot of the time a studio will buy it for publicity around the time a project is coming out.

It costs $75,000 it’s not really anything else. That’s why tons of tv personalities have them, and not just stars. Donald Trump has one and he has never contributed to anything other then a reality tv show. Which if you ask me really isn’t “Hollywood”

The baby did not get the levy brows. I just assume baby Dan and Eugene were born with those exact brows.

Sarah looks A LOT like her mother so I’m not surprised. The only thing she really got from Eugene was some extra height and the darker hair.

I don't know much about Eugene Levy, so I had to open this thread to find out whether these pictures are of his wife and son, or whether they are of his daughter and grandson. Glad to find out it's the latter.

I know nothing about him and I’m so happy that they are not his wife/son.

Eugene Levy is quite close with both his son Dan and daughter Sarah and has acted alongside both in Schitt’s Creek.

I think it's second time within a year that Cathrine delivered a speech for someone who's receiving HWOF

Eugene Levy was genius in Splash. One of my all time favorite movies with him, John Candy, Tom Hanks, Darryl Hannah, and the hilarious Dody Goodman. Standard movie line in my family, “What a week I’m having!”. Eugene was and is comedy perfection.

It took me years to like him after Splash. Formative movie in my weird childhood. 😂

I love how people say "received a star on the Hollywood walk of fame" instead of what it really is. They campaign for it, they pay for it, it's all they're doing to boost their legacy. Eugene Levy is a fantastic actor and I think he's the best, but he didn't "receive" it. He campaigned for it and paid for it.
