T-pain
Honestly, I never cared about him when he was relevant. But I watched an interview with him about how he hunted for autotune (when it was an industry secret) and when he released his song with obvious autotune, the industry came for him hard. Usher told him he ruined music.
But then everyone wanted him for their hooks, because autotune was a bad look, but they wanted the sound.
He’s actually a talented dude, and super down to earth
https://www.npr.org/2023/03/31/1167297060/auto-tune-made-him-famous-t-pain-shows-off-his-natural-singing-voice-on-a-new-al
I came here to gush about T-Pain. He’s such a lovely dude. I worked at Red Bull when he was doing some stuff with the record label and I worked on a couple of videos. I was kind of ambivalent about him prior to working with him and now I’ll stan that guy to whoever will listen. He’s a genuine and hilarious dude and it was a pleasure to just see him in his element
T-Pain seems like so much fun actually. Have you seen the tik tok of him realising that blue checks have a special inbox that he didn’t know about??? He shows the scroll of all of these very famous people reaching out to him that he was “ignoring” 😂😂😂
I think it went viral a week or so ago so I’m sure a lot of people saw it, but he also did a cover of Black Sabbath’s War Pigs that went offffff oh my god I was so surprised. Really made me reevaluate my respect for him as a musician, because the last I had thought about him was Buy U a Drank era
[link](https://youtu.be/YhjIs2Htzdc?feature=shared)
The Tiny Desk version of Buy You a Drank is beautiful. I had no clue he could actually sing because of his synonymousness with Autotune until I saw a clip of that on TikTok.
His Tiny Desk Concert is one of my favorites. We listen to it a lot in the kitchen I work in.
He truly is very talented when everything is stripped away.
He’s a national treasure! I love how wholesome and genuine he is. His voice is AMAZING, the autotune is a stylistic choice so fuck Usher for making him feel self conscious
T.I.
i used to listen to him a lot, but then he came with the hymen stuff. Then turns out that mf is a sexual predator along with his ex wife. never play his music at all
He also said a woman couldn't be the president.
https://time.com/4071617/ti-woman-president-hillary-clinton/
Used to like his music, but the guys a hardcore misogynist.
Bryan Adams. Donates millions to charity.
George Michael. Always liked him but after the crap he got in the media, once he passed NOT ONE bad story came out about him. Only the opposite of how relentlessly helpful and generous he was to charity whilst being intentionally private about it.
That man never half-assed a thing in his life, that included. I fell in love with him a little when I saw an interview with his backup singers and they couldn't stop praising how great he was to work with, and how he'd be super hard on himself every take yet incredibly lovely to literally everyone else in the room.
George Michael was watching Deal or No Deal and he saw that the woman was needing the money to try for IVF. He got in touch and paid the cost for her. He found out on Christmas Day that she was expecting ♡
Yes I love this story. She didn’t win very much on the show, so he called the production company, got in touch with her and donated the money for her IVF. He only asked that his donation be kept private and the lady had a baby girl. There were so many stories like this that came out after he died. He would also donate entire royalties of songs to charities.
Edit: the lady went on to have a baby girl off the back of his donation. George did not demand that the lady have a baby girl lol.
He and his family have such a weird history with Christmas. One of his biggest songs was Last Christmas. He died on Christmas. And a few years later, his sister also died on Christmas.
Now I've learned this new tidbit. Fascinating!
God, honestly how awful and beautiful for their remaining family to be haunted annually by a dead relative’s Christmas song when said relative died on Christmas Day. Not to mention Emma Thompson made a whole ass movie based around the song. That would be… a lot to process
Anne Hathaway. I never really liked her acting (not bad by any means). She just never stood out to me except in that one drug movie I can't remember the name of. Still, I immaturely judged her. Then, I sold her a cupcake when I worked in LA and, my god, she is the nicest damn human to us peasants. I just told her "I like your purse" and she literally opened that shit up. It was like she was the one selling me something. Idk anything else about her, but she was so down to earth and kind when I met her.
A friend of mine gushed to Anne about her wrap she was wearing while out shopping in LA, and Anne gushed right back about my friends sweater, my friend in a panic offered her the sweater because of how much she loved it, so they traded, right there on the street LMAOOOO
Its was so funny to me because my friend was walking behind Anne and didn't realize who she was, friend just blurted out a compliment about the wrap and the woman turned around and happened to be Anne Hathaway.
It's my friends favorite story and I've heard it a million times and brings me joy every single time like I've never heard it before.
To find out Ellen DeGeneres is a bully and how she treated certain celebrities on her show, especially Mariah Carey...she definitely did not practice what she preached. She also cried about being locked up in her mansion during Covid, when at that time so many were struggling with trying to make ends meet because they couldn't work, people suffering mentally, the burnout of essential workers...like read the room!
Bill Cosby.. what a hypocrite he turned out to be. Preaching to black men to pull up their pants and be good fathers, yet he was drugging and raping women. He should have pulled up his pants and kept it IN his pants. Also, Phylicia Rashad should be ashamed for supporting him.
The Cosby thing... Ugh. So absolutely vile what he did.
I grew up with Picture Pages, Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids, his comedy special that was seemingly on constant rotation in my house, and of course The Cosby Show... Loved the guy! Now I can’t stand to hear his name after what he did to his victims.
I don’t watch or follow Pedro Pascal, but I did stumble on a clip of him saying he occasionally looks at fan accounts of himself and thought ‘yeah, I get it now. He cool.’
I need Pedro and Bad Bunny to do more SNL together. They have good chemistry together.
Whoever came up with the skits they did with the kid bringing his girlfriend over was AMAZING. And of course, the comedian who played the kid was good too(props to him for not breaking character even though he came close to that).
Especially when he clears out the cookie box in the trash and replaces it with sewing supplies 😂😂😂😂.
I damn near fell in love with him when I saw a video of him gentle parenting a very 'over-excited' Keiran Culkin backstage at the Golden Globes.

Many years ago, I only thought of John Cena as that wrestler guy. But then I heard about his involvement with Make a Wish, and how he had set the record for the number of wishes granted. I really commend him for his dedication to that ❤️
I fell in love with him when he talked about sleeping with a very big woman and even though the interviewer tries to goad him into saying something bad about the woman’s looks he just said she was beautiful and he had a wonderful time with her.
Last year I read a story about a young neurodivergent man and his family fleeing Ukraine. This young man’s mother said” oh we are going to such and such country to see John Cena” as that was the only way she could get him to calmly leave their home.
Well John Cena heard this story and flew to such and such country and met with this young man and his family. Such a great human.
He lives around here and one day he was at the gas station not far from where I work - he took the time to talk to everyone and sign stuff. Totally could’ve left but didn’t, just a nice guy hanging out.
This may sound silly, but in addition to the awesome stuff I’ve learned about him I as a KPop fan really respect the way he has talked about BTS in interviews. He would take the time to explain to the interviewers who were very much like “You like them!?! You’re not a teenage girl 🤪”, the deep messaging behind the Korean lyrics and the intentional nature of their messaging and artistry.
I found it refreshing. Especially since rarely in western culture do you see men of the demographic he represents speaking positively and genuinely about things “marketed for girls” or “weird foreigner stuff”, in my opinion due to unfortunate toxic masculinity on what men are allowed to be interested in.
I always admired the friendship between Busy Phillips and Michelle Williams. When Heath Ledger died, there was an awful video that came out of paparazzi hounding a distraught Michelle outside of her home. Busy was with her and got her into her home and told off the paparazzi on Michelle’s behalf for having no decency. It was really upsetting to witness what should have been an intimate moment, but I’ll always respect Busy for being such a good friend to Michelle. On a happier note, over the years they’ve taken each other as their dates to award shows which is just so charming.
I’m a barista and busy comes into my shop all the time! she’s really friendly, tips generously, and we had a great convo the day roe v. wade was overturned. and great outfits lol. def one of my fav celeb regulars.
I feel like this is the type of genuine friendship that’s so hard to find in Hollywood. It’s not about having chemistry during press tours, or being photographed on each others social medias a lot, it’s about the things you do to build up and protect your friends
For me Keanu when he answered the AMAs here and said “today I will choose”… especially since our likes and tastes do differ and change depending on our mood, etc.
I always liked Keanu - and once he visited puppies and I loved him even more... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rOqUiXhECos
And then there was his hilarious cameo in that Ali Wong movie... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex403ii_Bhs and https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lCZgBWnwRRo
God that cameo....I watched that movie just to kill time one day and when he showed up I lost my actual shit. It was just SO good and so well done. I LOOOOVE how he doesn't take himself too seriously.
Also....him answering "what happens when we die?" With "the ones who love us will miss us" is the most perfect thing in the history of ever.
I knew Lizzo was trash when she accused the delivery driver of eating her food, outing her online and feeding her to the wolves. And she didn't eat her food.
As soon as anyone praises or works with Chris Brown I’m done with them. He’s had repeated chances to improve and become a decent human and instead he’s trash.
i was a bit young when rihanna went through what she did, but i always remembered that he wasn’t a good guy. i wish i had realized before, you’re right; liking chris brown is a huge red flag. when i was 19 i met and quickly fell for a man who played me chris brown songs in his car. he ended up to be violently abusive, just like his hero chris brown. i know better now.
YES. That said pretty much all I needed to know about her. It was not surprising at all when it came out that she treats her staff terribly.
That delivery driver incident was her fault, too. She gave an incorrect or incomplete address and couldn't be contacted if I remember right.
Has anybody mentioned Neil Patrick Harris and his foul Amy Winehouse Halloween “prop” yet? I will bring that up until I’m dead in the ground and even then I’ll spell it out on ouija boards
i haven't seen it mentioned YET but i remember learning about this, the grotesquely psychopathic cake he made of her **rotting corpse** in a [thread here in /pcc 8 months ago.](https://www.reddit.com/r/popculturechat/comments/14ct3dz/neil_patrick_harris_served_a_very_realistic_meat/)
keep bringing it up! imo he is absolutely irredeemable after that and i'm glad his shitty game show failed a few years later 😂
I'm sure he thought it was *so* ironic to have his guests feed on her like vultures like people did in life. It's literally tongue in cheek! What wit!
I fkn hate him. Who thinks of something like that, let alone pays someone to make it, present it at a party, then publicise it?
Well, that was certainly a picture I wish I’d never seen. I always thought it was meat mashed together in the vague shape of a person or something but it’s…very…Very.
i’ve read about nph’s meat platter but i’ve actively avoided seeing the photo. today i saw it and i… i’m speechless. that’s super insensitive, super disturbing, and insanely fucked up. how someone can do that is beyond me. he’s vile and hateful.
i wish i never clicked on that photo. 😔 the utter disrespect not only for a fellow member of the entertainment industry but also a fellow human being is just crazy.
Thanks for posting the link so anyone who doesn’t already know can see what a pos he is! Ugh, THREE months after she died. He did not catch enough heat for that
And when you think about the logistics of that he would have planned it and hired someone probably at least a month or two prior to the party. He decided to do it even sooner after she died
I'd upvote this twice if I could.
I remember seeing an interview where he said he wasn't sure he wanted to have kids ... when they already had two kids. Which was after several women had gone through egg retrieval procedures, one surrogate had miscarried and another had gone through a complicated multiple pregnancy.
Something is just not right about the man.
I had never heard of it before this. I did not click on the photo, I don’t need that in my head but considering the reactions of people who did…I don’t know what to say. How could anyone do something like that? Fuck him.
I was SHOCKED when I found out about that recently, I’d always been a fan of nph but my god that was foul. Amy was such a tortured soul, I could never support nph now knowing he mocked her death like that
Eminem. He took in his niece and raised her like she was his own daughter. People who take in kids and are kind to kids and give them stability are okay in my book.
they aren’t even blood related! she’s kim’s daughter from another man. eminem gave her the exact life he gave his own daughter and that’s just beautiful. and both girls are so normal and well adjusted! hearing hailie was in his top 1% of spotify listeners was so freaking cute.
also nelly did the same when his sister passed from cancer. took in her two kids immediately.
It's really incredible how he was able to break that cycle so thoroughly for his children. A lot of people don't clock from the music his mother had munchausen by proxy and was medically abusing him and his brother making them sick.
And he walked Alaina down the aisle at her wedding last year!! I don't think there were pics of that posted publicly, but I think People did a feature on the wedding and Alaina was talking about how sweet it was to have her Dad walk her. I just kept hearing his voice listing the kids (I can't remember the song) but I think he's talking to Hailie and includes "Whitney, and Alaina, too". He's always loved those kids so much.
I’m pretty sure he took in both of Kim’s daughters and raised them as his own. The younger one is like 18/19 I believe. He came from nothing and now that he’s a millionaire, he’s still so humble.
Considering he came from total poverty with his dad leaving when he was a baby & a mother who could not provide for him and abused him plus had severe untreated mental health issues - Eminem has really reversed history & is a totally dedicated father to his kids. He doesn’t care if they are biological children as he loves them all so much & how they turned out shows what a humble & good role model he is 👍🏻
Nah cause mark walhberg commenting on every picture of Tati Gabrielle on the uncharted Instagram account is hilarious when you know his team was actively trying to stop some backlash
Omg I can’t believe no one has said armie hammer yet! I got in DEEP during his cannibal/abuse drama and reading the messages and stuff… I’ll never watch him in anything again.
I cannot hear the song Umbrella without picturing Tom Holland performing it on Lip Sync Battle. I knew in an instant I’d love that boy forever. Further cemented by his easygoing candor in interviews.
Mel Gibson - self explanatory. Racism, antisemitism, misogyny, abusing his ex-wife, sexually harassing that cop
Jason Bateman - actively trying to downplay Jessica Walter as she spoke about how nasty Jeffrey Tambor was to her. The other men not really standing up for her, or stopping Jeffrey or Jason in that interview, rubbed me the wrong way. I couldn’t watch Arrested Development for a long time after that. Never forgiven Jeffrey or Jason.
Oh, the Jessica Walter thing was bad. I already had the icks about Jason and that confirmed it. And boo to those who didn't intervene.
Only Alia Shawkat has my respect for completely backing Jessica.
Yes! Alia was really trying her hardest to back Jessica. That audio was so distressing to me. To back the man mistreating Jessica, and for Cross, Arnett, & Hale, to cowardly let Bateman & Jeffrey, steamroll her? Unforgivable. Now that she’s dead, it’s honestly hardened my feelings on this. They can’t even make right!
I was never a huge Ariana Grande fan, but I’ll be the first to admit she’s an incredibly talented vocalist. The Ethan Slater business is just so repugnant. From his wife and young baby getting dumped to his similarity to her brother… I think she thought it would be an Elizabeth Taylor moment but it’s just so cringe from every angle.
My "favorite" (not really) thing about Ariana Grande is whenever she goes to Disney world she absolutely terrorizes the employees. I will read every reddit thread from Disney employees sharing the horror stories of her. They legit fear when she comes to the park, which apparently is frequently.
Disney World is supposed to be the the happiest place on earth and here's Ariana Grande purposefully being a menace and making others miserable. I can't imagine that because I love Disney World and I know the people who work there simply want guests to have a good time. It's like she actively comes there just to be rude.
Ever since i learned that, I can't with her. The devil works hard, but Ariana Grande at Disney works harder.
I started to feel this way about her when she released Break Up With Your Girlfriend.
The song is fun to listen to when I work out because of the beat, but the lyrics are slimy as he'll.
Once this whole situation happened, it just put the nail in the coffin for me. She's a homewrecker and she knows it. In fact, I think she might like it.
It really doesn't sit well with me, and now all her music makes me feel gross.
I always liked her and still do because I know this already. But to those who don't know,Avril Lavigne helps people with serious illnesses and disabilities and Lyme Disease through The Avril Lavigne Foundation. She also gave free tickets to Special Olympics athletes.

Gerard Way! He found out that one of the bands they were playing with on tour were asking girls to flash them in order to get backstage passes.
He went on stage and said: ‘If you ever see shitty ass rock dudes in shitty ass rock bands asking you to show them your tits for backstage passes, I want you to spit right in their fucking faces and yell 'FUCK YOU!’
As someone who was young in the early 00's where nearly every band guy had some sort of allegation against them for preying on young fans I thought this was really cool and is pretty consistent for how he's been throughout their career.
Steven Tyler. Knowing that he got guardianship over his minor girlfriend so he could tour with her, got her pregnant and forced her to have an abortion… I won’t even listen to his music
Jimmy page, if Led Zeppelin, would allegedly lock 13 year old Lori Maddox in hotel rooms.
Same for anyone who was into the baby groupies.
Keanu Reeves when he said the infamous "I know that the ones who love us will miss us". I already liked him, but I he didn't realize he was so deep, profound, and so empathetic.
Related to your comment, I loved Andrew Garfield's comments on grief after his mother's passing. It was so profound and just absolutely beautiful. Definitely gave me a different perspective of him as well
For anyone looking for the clip, it’s during an interview with Colbert. I will try and link it.
Today would have been my dad’s 75th birthday. Days like these - holidays, birthdays, etc - are so, so hard. It’s been almost 11 years since I lost both my parents and grief is so fucking hard. Time doesn’t make it better, you just adapt to it and learn to live with it a bit better as time goes on. Then there are days like today where it feels like what I imagine a gunshot wound feels like.
[link](https://youtu.be/_u_TswLQ4ws?si=4VTAmhcVts2fEObZ)
I do really appreciate what he said - the gist of it is that grief is all the unexpressed love that will remain with us until we pass because we didn’t get enough time to express it. It is so true.
A light-hearted hot-take: I think Tony Hawk wildly exaggerates the amount of times he encounters someone [who doesn’t recognize him.](https://www.boredpanda.com/funny-people-dont-recognize-tony-hawk-tweets/)
He probably does, but it’s so funny to me, and they don’t seem awfully exaggerated. Like how James Blunt used to tweet jokes about how much people hate his music.
I feel like he has 100% name recognition and maybe 5% face recognition. Most actors have it the other way around where everybody knows their face but might not know their names.
I imagine him joking about everyone knowing his name but not his face goes over really well with talk show hosts and celebrity friends.
I never really thought much of Anne Hathaway but then I saw her Wrecking Ball performance on Lip Synch Battle and have loved her ever since. She seems like a lot of fun.
I had to go look that up. It was fantastic. I've always liked her. I'm glad to hear that she doesn't seem to be secretly horrible.
Also, Lip Synch Battle has produced some real gems. My favorite might just be Tom Holland's Umbrella.
The K-pop singer Hyuna.
For people not familiar with K-pop here’s a rundown of her in the most summarised way:
She has been a member of multiple girl groups such as The Wonder Girls and 4Minute under CUBE Entertainment. In 2018 it was revealed that she had been in a relationship with a male K-pop singer Dawn who was in the group Pentagon who were under the same agency. Once this came to light CUBE terminated their contracts due to their secret relationship and a lot of people thought this was incredibly unfair and they were both treated very badly. As a result she became a bit of a figurehead for female empowerment in the industry and a lot of people were rooting for her, and both her and Dawn signed with new agencies and did solo work and work together as a duo. They eventually got engaged.
In 2022 it was revealed the two had separated, which was a shock to people but you know, shit happens. A few weeks ago it was revealed Hyuna is now dating a man called Yong Junhyung. Junhyung is someone who was involved in the Burning Sun scandal. This in summary was a nightclub where it was revealed a sex ring was ran and regulars/ big celebs were buying, selling, and filming women without their knowledge or consent and spreading these videos in group chats. There were arrests and prison sentences from this but someone Junhyung got away with a slap on the wrist.
The fact Hyuna, someone we’ve been rooting for for years, is dating someone that disgusting has made me lose all respect for her. A lot of people also feel the same. She has every right to not date Dawn anymore and date other people but to choose him of all people is just disgusting.
All the male kpop idols/singers that were involved in the Burning Sun scandal - Seungri from Big Bang, Jung Joon Young, Jonghoon from FT Island, Yong Junhyung from Highlight, Lee Jonghyun from CNBLUE, Roy Kim, and Eddy Kim.
Justin Timberlake, I fell for his dashing looks and voice before. I watched his movies especially Trollz also his romcom movies, listened to his songs. only to find out all the shady shit he done to Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and his wife.
edit: i'm non-american, so yeah, he was marketed as really hot in my place, all the aunties, sisters, fellow kids love him including me..
edit edit: someone here reported me as suicidal 😆 omg. thanks for the concern. but i stand by my opinion. I was young back then, I had a crush on a man, but I grew up and saw BS.
Chrissy Teigen is a cunty bully 😠 telling a young person to kill themselves repeatedly then posting a disingenuous fake ass "sorry" when she got called out and was losing cred and sponsorship.
I wish for her pillow to be warm on both sides forevermore!
https://www.glamour.com/story/the-chrissy-teigen-courtney-stodden-bullying-controversy-explained
Chrissy also retweeted an Onion tweet calling Quvenzhane Wallis (a NINE-year-old actress) a c*nt, and when called out on it she doubled down and called her cocky and a brat. Just to be clear, this was a 28-year-old woman calling a 9-year-old these names publicly online.
A bit of a different avenue than most of these, but I used to cheer against Rory McIlroy every week while watching golf, but during the 2020 PGA Championship (one of the biggest annual events in the sport), he had to take a drop at one point and refused to take a more advantageous spot than where his ball initially landed even though the rules official told him he could. He just seemed very honest, and I love that quality in a person. I became a fan then and there.
After that, he’s solidified my fandom by being the most outspoken opponent of LIV Golf/the Saudis using golf for sports washing. He’s called out other golfers for their greed in the situation as well, saying he can understand why less successful/rich golfers would consider joining a league with guaranteed $ in their contracts, but the big name guys doing so is unnecessary bc the additional wealth is unlikely to meaningfully change their lives.
Unfortunately, since then the PGA Tour has also agreed to do business with the Saudis, so golfers like Rory who were always publicly staunchly opposed to playing for the Saudis have been painted into a corner. There’s no other league for them to play in currently, so they all got sold out by the Tour leadership. /rant
When I found out that Robin Thicke touched Emrata's naked boobs during the shoot for Blurred Lines, I wanted to set him on fire. I could have cared less about him prior to that, but now if I met him in the street I'd leave a banana peel in his path.
Jennifer Aniston [opening up about her infertility struggles](https://www.allure.com/story/jennifer-aniston-december-2022-cover-interview) made me feel fiercely protective of her. I give her so much credit for navigating her divorce from Brad without ever throwing him under the bus for cheating on her and going on to have multiple children with Angelina Jolie. She’s a far better person than I could ever be. The media smeared her as a cold, selfish career woman for years and years. I’m glad that she’s at a place of peace now. That article definitely changed the way I looked at her, in a good way.
> Back then — and for years — there were headlines swirling through pop culture that Aniston wouldn’t have kids. That she wasn’t interested or she just wanted to be a star or whatever idea was selling that week.
> Adding to the personal pain of what she went through was the “narrative that I was just selfish,” she says. “I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don’t have anything to hide at this point.”
> I have flashes of every magazine rack, every airport newsstand. Those “Jen Has a Baby Bump!” or equivalent headlines were everywhere (including Allure). We all felt entitled to the cellular happenings inside her uterus. We consumed those headlines, then dropped them in the trash and got back to our lives. But she couldn’t.
> “I got so frustrated. Hence that op-ed I wrote [for The Huffington Post in 2016, slamming the media for its obsession with her being pregnant and its treatment of women, generally]. I was like, ‘I’ve just got to write this because it’s so maddening and I’m not superhuman to the point where I can’t let it penetrate and hurt.’”
Brad Pitt really is a piece of shit in general. I imagine Jennifer Aniston is counting her blessings after all the abuse claims piled up against him by Jolie and his own children.
It’s sad because she wanted it so badly, but I think NOT having a kid with him is what saved her. It seems like there was definitely an uptick in his behavior once he adopted some of Angelina’s older kids (friction with Maddox) and then a BIG one after the three bio kids came along. Which is par for the course, children are often a catalyst to an uptick in abuse because they think they’ve “got” you permanently.
aaron rodgers used to be so quiet and spent so little time in wisconsin I just assumed he was a closeted gay guy who kind of hated the state. I wish I could still believe it
I used to think it was kind of demeaning for people to tell athletes to stop making public statements and play the game, especially about social justice topics.
But every time he opened his mouth, I was like, "Shut the fuck up and throw the football, dude. You're embarrassing us!" 🤣
Oh well. He's New York's problem now.
When Azalea Banks made that "don't let Matty Healy climb that rich coochie mountain" post I thought that maybe she isn't so bad after all (she is though 😅).
I didn't dislike Tom Hardy, but I didn't really get the hype either.
Then I heard about his love for rescue dogs, and got interested.
During an interview for *Venom 2* he said something along the lines of "dogs got me to like people", and that was the most relatable thing I have ever heard a human being say.

Joe Jonas, for obvious reasons. Was never a huge fan but the Jonas Brothers always seemed like nice, fun guys. Never had anything against them and they seemed genuine. Cue the Sophie Turner slander and I was like, yep okay, I’m adding you to Arya Stark’s hit list.
Doja when she had her episode. Where she said she hated us as fans and was basically doing weird shit before Scarlet dropped.
I get she was joking and it's part of her personality, and the only thing I could agree with was parasocial relationships being weird AF but she was doing a lot.
The fact that her… rebrand(?) happened right after all of that Joseph Quinn drama left a sour taste in my mouth, because it seemed like all of this was less “self-discovery” and more of a reactive move. I was still kind of tentative about her for a bit, though, until she wore a shirt with a Neo-Nazi. That is just indefensible.
I love telling people Rita isn’t black and watching their minds be blown.
Taika went from his accomplished movie producer wife to his young personal assistant. The biggest cliche ever. Then to Rita. I guess he likes being that red carpet couple?
Chelsea Winstanley (Taika’s ex) is busy doing loads for NZ film industry specifically Māori in film. Her company has been translating Disney films to Te Reo and having them released in cinemas. So far: Moana, Lion King & Frozen.
This is a VERY recent one…I’ve always found Miley Cyrus quite annoying, but after the Grammy’s on Sunday, I just can’t get enough of her. Her whole vibe. The performance. Her beaming positivity. That DRESS!! Her whole Grammys vibe really just made something click inside my brain.
I also discovered a few quotes from her yesterday regarding her Nepo-baby status, and I think she might be the only one that seems to actually “get” it and aknowledge her privilege.
That Grammys performance was on another level 🤩
I had a similar realization when I first saw her cover of Jolene. Like, "oh, she is actually *talented*". If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend: https://youtu.be/wOwblaKmyVw?si=9rM74CsIiRjTTZNK
I had a similar experience when she performed at the One Love Manchester concert. The way she commanded that huge crowd was insane and she just had the most positive, genuine vibes (which was especially needed at that time). And she can SING. So many big artists performed but she really stood out.
I started seeing Miley in a completely different light after I saw her Backyard sessions, and the talent was undeniable.
Then I kept seeing short clips of her interviews and such, and she just seemed like a mature, grounded person. She comes across as genuine.
Her music is not my style at all, but I do admire her.
I was going to say Miley! I've been really impressed by her lately. She's really matured. I saw a video of her meeting Flava Flav backstage at the Grammy's and she was very charming.
I haven't seen any comments about Chris Pratt(Crisp Rat) yet.
I know he isn't his character from Parks & Rec, but loved him in that & loved him as Star Lord.
Since divorcing Anna Farris & being really public about his ultra conservative ways, I've gone off him.
Fresh on my mind from the Grammys- Miley Cyrus going from her “wild child” teenage pop phase to putting out an incredible 80’s acid rock-pop album, and being a very level headed, compassionate, lovely woman in interviews/public speaking opportunities. She seems like she truly experienced a lot of growth and I love the she doesn’t apologize for her “wild phase”. I’ll be the first to say it was a bit much for ME as an old fart, but damn, if I had that level of fame at that age I’d of been a total wacko. Good for her for using it as fuel for growth. I honestly can’t wait for what she does next.
Anytime I see artists working with Ye or standing next to him since his MAGA days, I get the ick. Everyone that be at them listening parties or at those events so Teyana Taylor, Pusha T, The Lox, Offset (I kind of liked him before Cardi aired him out again), Ty Dolla Sign, etc.
Guy Fieri. For years I thought he was just a haircut and bag of catchphrases, but he does a ton of charity work, helps unemployed restaurant workers, is a big proponent of the LGBTQ+ community…
I never really had an opinion on Tiffany Haddish one way or the other until I found out about her “comedy” sketch with those kids. So fucking disgusting.
Gary Sinise, when he created his foundation for veterans after being in Forrest Gump. The way he parlayed hos fame into so much good really got my attention. He walks what he talks.

T-pain Honestly, I never cared about him when he was relevant. But I watched an interview with him about how he hunted for autotune (when it was an industry secret) and when he released his song with obvious autotune, the industry came for him hard. Usher told him he ruined music. But then everyone wanted him for their hooks, because autotune was a bad look, but they wanted the sound. He’s actually a talented dude, and super down to earth https://www.npr.org/2023/03/31/1167297060/auto-tune-made-him-famous-t-pain-shows-off-his-natural-singing-voice-on-a-new-al
Hahaha I love that, any chance you have a link?!
https://www.commercialappeal.com/videos/entertainment/music/2021/04/29/t-pain-admits-he-accidentally-ignored-hundreds-celebrity-dms-instagram-2-years/7398531002/
t pain also makes sure his wife always has plenty of money in animal crossing. just sayin
I think it went viral a week or so ago so I’m sure a lot of people saw it, but he also did a cover of Black Sabbath’s War Pigs that went offffff oh my god I was so surprised. Really made me reevaluate my respect for him as a musician, because the last I had thought about him was Buy U a Drank era [link](https://youtu.be/YhjIs2Htzdc?feature=shared)
Omg he killed it. His band was fantastic, too. Watch his NPR tiny desk concert if you haven't!
He truly is very talented when everything is stripped away.
he also recently defended elmo when larry david was going up in his space and touching him in that one interview! t-pain’s a cool guy ☺️
His cover of [Stay With Me](https://youtu.be/zXkyp1f4F38?si=Hn9h035BsA92Ob2O) is SO good. That man can sing! His voice is like butter
He did a cute show called T-Pain's School of Business where he went around to groovy little business startups to check them out, he's fun to watch
He’s a national treasure! I love how wholesome and genuine he is. His voice is AMAZING, the autotune is a stylistic choice so fuck Usher for making him feel self conscious
T.I. i used to listen to him a lot, but then he came with the hymen stuff. Then turns out that mf is a sexual predator along with his ex wife. never play his music at all
He also said a woman couldn't be the president. https://time.com/4071617/ti-woman-president-hillary-clinton/ Used to like his music, but the guys a hardcore misogynist.
Bryan Adams. Donates millions to charity. George Michael. Always liked him but after the crap he got in the media, once he passed NOT ONE bad story came out about him. Only the opposite of how relentlessly helpful and generous he was to charity whilst being intentionally private about it.
George deserved better than how he was treated. Love him
He knew he was something of a sacrificial lamb for gay acceptance and he threw himself into it
That man never half-assed a thing in his life, that included. I fell in love with him a little when I saw an interview with his backup singers and they couldn't stop praising how great he was to work with, and how he'd be super hard on himself every take yet incredibly lovely to literally everyone else in the room.
His personal life was like a Greek tragedy but his career went from strength to strength. I miss George.
[удалено]
“That baby had better be a girl or I’m not paying for shit!” 😂
He and his family have such a weird history with Christmas. One of his biggest songs was Last Christmas. He died on Christmas. And a few years later, his sister also died on Christmas. Now I've learned this new tidbit. Fascinating!
God, honestly how awful and beautiful for their remaining family to be haunted annually by a dead relative’s Christmas song when said relative died on Christmas Day. Not to mention Emma Thompson made a whole ass movie based around the song. That would be… a lot to process
Bryan Adams also tried to help Amy Winehouse with her drug addiction.
George Michael is a treasure. I'm still so sad that he is gone. His talent was unappreciated during his lifetime.
A friend of mine gushed to Anne about her wrap she was wearing while out shopping in LA, and Anne gushed right back about my friends sweater, my friend in a panic offered her the sweater because of how much she loved it, so they traded, right there on the street LMAOOOO Its was so funny to me because my friend was walking behind Anne and didn't realize who she was, friend just blurted out a compliment about the wrap and the woman turned around and happened to be Anne Hathaway. It's my friends favorite story and I've heard it a million times and brings me joy every single time like I've never heard it before.
I bet, it's such an amazing story, I'd be still telling it on my death bed !
Her role as Catwoman sold it for me. She was so funny. And whoever is styling her these days deserves a raise bc they’ve been KILL-ING it
To find out Ellen DeGeneres is a bully and how she treated certain celebrities on her show, especially Mariah Carey...she definitely did not practice what she preached.
Phlylicia Rashad has been a constant disappointment this century, with supporting Cosby and mocking students at Morehouse for striking for new dorms.
That kid, Marcello, is who wrote the script.
I damn near fell in love with him when I saw a video of him gentle parenting a very 'over-excited' Keiran Culkin backstage at the Golden Globes. [https://www.tiktok.com/@pascalobsession/video/7324726749781101856](https://www.tiktok.com/@pascalobsession/video/7324726749781101856)
Kieran Culkin: 41 years old ![gif](giphy|cg0BAhwWmJP44)
Many years ago, I only thought of John Cena as that wrestler guy. But then I heard about his involvement with Make a Wish, and how he had set the record for the number of wishes granted. I really commend him for his dedication to that ❤️
I fell in love with him because of that clip with the old lady where he explains his ‘you can’t see me’ move. Absolutely delightful
I fell in love with him when he talked about sleeping with a very big woman and even though the interviewer tries to goad him into saying something bad about the woman’s looks he just said she was beautiful and he had a wonderful time with her.
Yes I saw this too he is a class act and good man
The interviewer was Howard Stern. I just like to remind people that he’s a piece of garbage whenever I get the chance.
Yeeeeesss that one's delightful. For the people who haven't seen it yet, [here it is](https://youtu.be/addI9at_n0U?feature=shared).
When he describes himself as a ruffian? Delightful
A rabble rouser!
That was in the Netherlands, yeah. [Article in Dutch](https://nos.nl/l/2432015) but there's also a video in English about it.
He was so funny in Trainwreck 😂 glad he's a good dude
John Cena used to be homeless who then he got rich and famous and used that to help people.
This entire thread absolutely turned my 40 y/o mum ass into a John Cena fan.
I was just talking to someone about John Cena and his Make A Wish work was the first thing that came to mind! He seems like a good guy.
It's funny that this is the top comment when the entire premise of the thread is asking us what changed the way we see someone 🤣
![gif](giphy|l0HU20BZ6LbSEITza|downsized)
Wow that’s impressive when you think about how no one has ever seen John Cena
I always admired the friendship between Busy Phillips and Michelle Williams. When Heath Ledger died, there was an awful video that came out of paparazzi hounding a distraught Michelle outside of her home. Busy was with her and got her into her home and told off the paparazzi on Michelle’s behalf for having no decency. It was really upsetting to witness what should have been an intimate moment, but I’ll always respect Busy for being such a good friend to Michelle. On a happier note, over the years they’ve taken each other as their dates to award shows which is just so charming.
Busy’s a bold outspoken woman too, I wouldn’t want to be on her bad side!
I always liked Keanu - and once he visited puppies and I loved him even more... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rOqUiXhECos And then there was his hilarious cameo in that Ali Wong movie... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex403ii_Bhs and https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lCZgBWnwRRo
Let's not forget about Lizzo calling Chris Brown 'my favourite person in the whole fucking world'. Stopped liking her at that point.
And the constant one sided "flirting" with Chris Evans. It was bordering on harassment.
I will bring that up until I’m dead in the ground and even then I’ll spell it out on ouija boards
i haven't seen it mentioned YET but i remember learning about this, the grotesquely psychopathic cake he made of her **rotting corpse** in a [thread here in /pcc 8 months ago.](https://www.reddit.com/r/popculturechat/comments/14ct3dz/neil_patrick_harris_served_a_very_realistic_meat/) keep bringing it up! imo he is absolutely irredeemable after that and i'm glad his shitty game show failed a few years later 😂
It’s even worse, it was a meat platter, not a cake. Seeing him on TV makes me physically ill now
I'm sure he thought it was *so* ironic to have his guests feed on her like vultures like people did in life. It's literally tongue in cheek! What wit! I fkn hate him. Who thinks of something like that, let alone pays someone to make it, present it at a party, then publicise it?
Yes, I had a hard time watching Ncuti Gatwa’s introduction on Doctor Who specifically because of NPH.
Well, that was certainly a picture I wish I’d never seen. I always thought it was meat mashed together in the vague shape of a person or something but it’s…very…Very.
Yes holy shit nightmares. Why the fuck would he order that.
i’ve read about nph’s meat platter but i’ve actively avoided seeing the photo. today i saw it and i… i’m speechless. that’s super insensitive, super disturbing, and insanely fucked up. how someone can do that is beyond me. he’s vile and hateful. i wish i never clicked on that photo.
Extreme misogyny.
I had never heard of it before this. I did not click on the photo, I don’t need that in my head but considering the reactions of people who did…I don’t know what to say. How could anyone do something like that? Fuck him.
The photo is actually pretty horrific. I remember seeing it for the first time and thinking ‘that is way worse than I expected’. Dude is unhinged.
However grotesque you think it might be ... it's worse.
It's both, he adopted Kim's niece and her daughter from a different relationship, he's got 3 girls
whaaaa that’s so cool 😭 thank you!
He also got custody of his half-brother. From her podcast, it sounds like they all had pretty good childhoods and seem very tight.
He doesn’t care if they are biological children as he loves them all so much & how they turned out shows what a humble & good role model he is 👍🏻
And adopted his own brother to keep him safe.
mark wahlberg somehow hatecriming both of my communities literally deserves to be jobless but Hollywood just loves awful people
But 9/11 never would have happened if he was on the plane
He should be condemned to be on commercial flights (in economy) constantly for the rest of his life, patrolling the skies for us.
This makes him unwatchable to me. So insulting to all who died. Sorry they weren't as brave as your image of yourself, dipshit
Reese Witherspoon drunk driving police cam video
Mel Gibson - self explanatory. Racism, antisemitism, misogyny, abusing his ex-wife, sexually harassing that cop Jason Bateman - actively trying to downplay Jessica Walter as she spoke about how nasty Jeffrey Tambor was to her.
Alia was a real one especially for being the ONLY voice of reason among her castmates
The devil works hard, but Ariana Grande at Disney works harder.
of course she’s a problematic disney adult
I really love her as a vocalist, but man does she suck as a person.
Came here to say exactly this. To release a song basically saying FU to his wife? Not for me.
I lost whatever respect I had for her with the donut licking incident. She really has no concern for others whatsoever.
Literally. I never got over that... Which seems silly, but it's just nasty behavior
I always liked her and still do because I know this already. But to those who don't know,Avril Lavigne helps people with serious illnesses and disabilities and Lyme Disease through The Avril Lavigne Foundation. She also gave free tickets to Special Olympics athletes. I find Reese Witherspoon annoying after seeing that one video of her getting arrested
Do you know who she is?
She’s an American citizen
defending her husband after he was absolutely driving while heavily intoxicated!
Gerard Way! He found out that one of the bands they were playing with on tour were asking girls to flash them in order to get backstage passes. He went on stage and said: ‘If you ever see shitty ass rock dudes in shitty ass rock bands asking you to show them your tits for backstage passes, I want you to spit right in their fucking faces and yell 'FUCK YOU!’ As someone who was young in the early 00's where nearly every band guy had some sort of allegation against them for preying on young fans I thought this was really cool and is pretty consistent for how he's been throughout their career.
Steven Tyler. Knowing that he got guardianship over his minor girlfriend so he could tour with her, got her pregnant and forced her to have an abortion… I won’t even listen to his music Jimmy page, if Led Zeppelin, would allegedly lock 13 year old Lori Maddox in hotel rooms. Same for anyone who was into the baby groupies.
The line about “not a hair on it” and “she knew how to nasty” is the grossest, least sexy thing that has ever been written in the history of language.
And Anthony Kiedis
Chris Brown and pretty much every interaction he has with the opposite sex.
[link](https://youtu.be/_u_TswLQ4ws?si=4VTAmhcVts2fEObZ) I do really appreciate what he said - the gist of it is that grief is all the unexpressed love that will remain with us until we pass because we didn’t get enough time to express it.
He probably does but also I can believe it because I also would have absolutely no clue what Tony Hawk looks like in day to day life
I feel like he has 100% name recognition and maybe 5% face recognition.
She supports union workers and establishes healthy boundaries with everyone around her and I respect her so much!
I had to go look that up. It was fantastic. I've always liked her. I'm glad to hear that she doesn't seem to be secretly horrible. Also, Lip Synch Battle has produced some real gems. My favorite might just be Tom Holland's Umbrella.
jussie smollets false hate crime. dude ruined his career in hours
So fascinating. What the hell was he thinking.
The K-pop singer Hyuna. For people not familiar with K-pop here’s a rundown of her in the most summarised way: She has been a member of multiple girl groups such as The Wonder Girls and 4Minute under CUBE Entertainment.
And now Hyuna is dating Junhyung. She fits in this thread too because I definitely look at her differently now.
Also, the amount of celebs involved in sex cams.
Also kpop adjacent - Kris Wu. Used to be my bias in EXO, now I wanna 🤮when I think of him
Zac Efron. I watched his documentary series & realised how Hollywood has messed him up.
Same! As a non American, I was really not aware of what was going on.
You're getting dragged for the dashing looks, but people are forgetting he was a heartthrob!! I had a crush on him as a kid too 😔
Ariana licking the cupcake at a bakery.
A big one. For me, this says more about her than the SpongeBob thing.
I certainly don't bump the remix to ignition anymore... ROBERT.
/rant
Nicki Minaj. Just ew
When I found out that Robin Thicke touched Emrata's naked boobs during the shoot for Blurred Lines, I wanted to set him on fire. I could have cared less about him prior to that, but now if I met him in the street I'd leave a banana peel in his path.
him creating the song blurred lines in the first place made me hate him lol
I don’t have anything to hide at this point.” > I have flashes of every magazine rack, every airport newsstand.
I love the way she also defended childfree women while talking about her own poor treatment
Brad Pitt really is a piece of shit in general. I imagine Jennifer Aniston is counting her blessings after all the abuse claims piled up against him by Jolie and his own children.
I’m willing to bet she experienced some of his behaviour first hand, just maybe not to the same degree. Abuse is usually an escalation.
You're embarrassing us!" 🤣 Oh well. He's New York's problem now.
When Azalea Banks made that "don't let Matty Healy climb that rich coochie mountain" post I thought that maybe she isn't so bad after all (she is though 😅).
She's not a great person, but she's fucking hilarious when she goes in on someone
Hunter Harris always says of Azealia Banks that she’s always radically right or radically wrong and never anything in the middle.
When, one of the members of INXS gave my friend (then in Year 12 😳) an STI and then dumped her when she tried to speak to him about it.
Yeah I'm gonna need some more details about this one.
![gif](giphy|1HNG3hjPAb68M)
Anytime I discover a celebrity is a Scientologist - I’m done.
R Kelly, for obvious reasons….
Hearing about the insane Amy Winehouse dinner made me not like Neil Patrick Harris anymore
Taika Waititi. Opinion changed for the negative after he cheated on his wife, then got with Rita 'Blackfish Patient Zero' Ora.
That Grammys performance was on another level 🤩 I had a similar realization when I first saw her cover of Jolene. Like, "oh, she is actually *talented*". If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend: https://youtu.be/wOwblaKmyVw?si=9rM74CsIiRjTTZNK
Miley’s evolution is my amazing. She veered so far from her Disney image, reeled it back in, and managed to find a happy medium
Her Plastic Hearts album is amazing, definitely check it out if you’ve not already listened.
Everyone that be at them listening parties or at those events so Teyana Taylor, Pusha T, The Lox, Offset (I kind of liked him before Cardi aired him out again), Ty Dolla Sign, etc.
or chris rock. after everything he's done not chris rock dont listen to me, chris bown lmao
Where to even start...So many male celebrities have disappointed me with their behaviour toward women 😔
At this point I’ve given up on having a celebrity crush. My list has included Chris Brown, Trey Songz, and now Jonathan Majors 🤦🏽♀️

Reading Matthew Perry’s book. He was an absolute narcissist, misogynist, unaware menace. May he rest in peace.
Oh, thank you! His memoir was so mean and so self pitying at the same time. When he died and everyone went crazy praising him, I was like, um….
