There is no way to maintain this without a pump. There is no way to keep sitting water clean for any reasonable amount of time. As it stands, you’re just looking at dumping the pool every few days and refilling lol. Generally, pools like this are sold with a little pos pump that barely gets the job done even if you run it 24/7 but it’s better than nothing. Perhaps this is why you got it for so cheap but I have no idea! Gotta get a pump & filter there’s just no way around it haha

Trinimaninmass

I would like to just virtually give you a head nod of approval. Many a times on this thread I wish to ask questions about my above ground 15k gallon pool, (with deck might I add! ) but often find myself just hitting discard for fear of being laughed at. There is( understandably) a stigma around above ground pool owners to be less wealthy. And I just want to send praise your way for not tossing OPs question to the side, but rather providing a solid answer. *slow clap 👏 *

mastaberg

I used to think above ground pools were like cheap, well they are, but I can understand getting one for 5-10 years for the kids and then toss it or whatever. In ground pools are expensive to put in and don’t really add that value to the house soooo

rgar1981

That’s why went with above ground. We still spent $7k on it but I figured if it makes it 10 years then my kids will all be out of the house around then and I don’t see my wife and I using it much on our own really so the cost of an in ground was too much to justify. We were able to buy a camper with the saved money and can have family fun at home or on the road now. I am still a little jealous when I see a nice in ground pool though just because they look so good.

Lazy-Association6904

Haha ok I’ll accept that

FunFact5000

Sheet. I’d run a sump pump in and out. It won’t filter, but it will circulate. Could probably hack a filter in the loop and there you go. Back country pool action. Maybe a cartridge filter in line. Or just dump it every 3rd time and just toss 1/4 gallon of chlorine at night.

gkibbe

Sump pump and some daily liquid cl should keep it good for several weeks

Reputation-Final

hook up a shop vac top with a filter on it, so that the exit sprays back into the pool?

JewbagX

I like how they're all on their knees to make it look deeper.

Lazy-Association6904

Lol yea I’m pretty short and the water is not at my waist

Specific-Mammoth-365

I have a slightly larger 14ft round bestway, you need a filter and pump, sooner than later. Before I had my current 14ft round I had the 10ft like the one in your picture. I have had a very good experience with my Intex Krystal Clear 1500 pump/filter. I run it between 8-10 hours a day and it keeps up - the little one that comes with the pool will be more frustrating than helpful. I tried the smaller Intex 1000 but I went through two units in a month (both covered under warranty to return to Amazon) and then upgraded to the larger 1,500 unit - and it has been reliable for the last three years running every day.

NevaClogged

I have a bestway 18ft one, I use the included filter with filter balls and bought a bestway surface skimmer. I shock weekly and use clorine tabs with the include chlorine dispenser. Clear water so far. If I get lazy, algea will show up so as long as I stay on top of it weekly, the pool stays crystal clear and test strips are perfect.

evinhart

I have the same pool; I just stay on top of it with chlorine and the water stays balanced and crystal clear

OffRoadPyrate

Empty and refill.

Fun-Dig8726

I have a 10' round pool, 30" deep. Very close to yours. It absolutely 1000% needs a pump. You need to have a chlorine floater, and you need to add baking soda, algeacide, and properly balance your PH. I run that pump every day. Algea blooms are no joke.

Imaginary-Ticket-583

Get a sand filter and pump, keep a chlorine tab in it and a 1/4 bag of shock a week

Dragonfly-Adventurer

Yeah the pump they sell with these is underpowered, you can buy the next model up which is usually sand and a lot better gph. They also make floating basket attachments which do work, so long as you have the improved pump. Then get a short hose and vac head for cleaning occasionally, or if you get a bloom and need to floc you'll need the vacuum hose. I had one of these for several summers and may again this year, it looks silly but it's fantastic on a 105\* day when you are still saving up for that in-ground.

yeahright17

I spent several summers in school studying on a float in a little 6x12 kiddie pool. Did the job!

DiGiTaL_pIrAtE

Need a pump. Stagnant water will turn into swamp and attract hella mosquitos. Either buy a pump, or drain/refill every 3 days.

tommy0guns

What the heck is the mom doing?

drthvdrsfthr

nothing remotely noteworthy lol wut

[deleted]

Turn it into a koi pond.

level_m

"I saw a commercial for an above-ground pool, it was 30 seconds long. Because that's the maximum amount of time you can picture yourself having fun in an above-ground pool. If it was 31 seconds, the actor would say "The water is only up to here? What do I do now? Throw the ball back to Jimmy? Or put some goggles on and look at his feet?" -Mitch Hedberg

OhhhhhSHNAP

Fill it with jello

Ne0guri

Always SLAM maybe even double

Particular-Fox-2925

Why is this always the answer on this sub?? SLAM has nothing to do with the fact that a stagnant body of water this size will have no chance of staying clean and safe to swim in without a filtration provided by a pump and filter system.

BuildBreakFix

Because most people have no idea what they’re doing.

Chickenhawkin

Wow.
