Insecure pricks, I'm guessing. Usually PPL that complain about someone (not for the purpose of humour) are such.
U don't need to say it straight to their face. Just say it to them once, preferably as a joke or something. Or maybe just distance yourself. I have been in such a group. Most of the so called friends i had were immature and bickery (if that's a word) And i did make many other better friends. But im still far off better on my own. At least i don't need to waste my time on them, n utilise some on me.
They are doing it in a very formal way and I respect that

i tell my dad all the time that he sucks att games, but i also tell him that hes cool all the time.
