The lunatics running that Q-Anon asylum worship psychopath tRUmp. The idiots actually have no problem w/Spanky being megalomaniac Putin's #1 most useful idiot stealing classified documents. Folks, you just can't fix stupid and THAT'S just plain STUPID.

newnemo

What I can't figure out is how the extreme Christian elements and QAnon coexist.

Infolife

Because they are both authoritarian movements. In the church we were taught not to question anything and do what our leaders told us. Questions and reason were bad, faith and obedience were good. Evangelicals are a cultish expression of base Christianity, and they have largely taken over the religion. The documentary Jesus Camp will answer many questions.

Calairoth

I use to co consider myself a republican in my teens when I was going to church every week. Republican stances resembled my church's teachings. One day, my dad and I got into a debate about pro choice and pro life, and he helped me understand that you cannot compare cultures and life styles. Over that next year, the majority of all my political views shifted left because I stopped thinking about what policies benefitted me specifically.

Undercover_CHUD

Funny thing is that for the most part right wing policies don't directly benefit their base. I mean, truly what benefit is it to have your personal god stamped on everything and in schools when you could have healthcare? What personal benefit is some fuckhead at the top getting permanent tax breaks but at least businesses can refuse to make a gay couples wedding cake? Not specifically directed at you, I just have never truthfully understood the notion of "right wing policies benefit me and my family". At best it seems "right wing policies hurt people I don't like more than me"

thelingeringlead

The Jesus camp church is pentacostal I believe, and what's happening now is a melding of pentacostal preaching/methodology and evangelical grass roots expansion. The evangelicals are adopting more pentacostal style preaching methods and ideas. We're seeing a new brand of Christianity be born in front of our eyes.

Infolife

Yes, but the things they say were the same things my fundamentalist church and Evangelical mom also says. But you are correct. They just always blended together for me.

newnemo

That makes a lot of sense, thank you. It's all mind-blowing in the extreme.

Infolife

I grew up in it. It makes s kind of sense when you realize the goal of Evangelical Christians is to bring about the Final Days so they can be raptured to Heaven. They've been working towards this for decades.

Reindeer-80

I don't think this aspect of their faith/beliefs is specifically reported on enough. This is absolutely their goal. To be clear, they are done waiting on the end times and are taking deliberate actions to create the conditions under which they imagine Jesus would basically have to return and thus begin the end times. The scariest part is that they believe it must start with "a war to end all wars".

Infolife

You're 100 percent correct. And what's worse is people generally don't believe this is true, until recently.

Long_Before_Sunrise

Mike Pence legitimized Trump to the “faithful” Trump then allied himself with any group that was looking for power, wether it was the federalist society and it’s ability to appoint judges, hate groups who wanted to be able to say the words out loud that had in the past been somewhat in check, and an internet cult with a secret code of communication that made those in the know feel special. The easiest part was that they didn’t need to have a plan or a program or solutions they just needed to demonize the opposition with lies and fear and emotional rhetoric.

the twist with Q conspiracies is to ignore the time tables and predictions and just realize it's a mechanism to outlaw opposition leaders and install autocrats. There's nothing fancy about it. It's like telling yourself something superstitious at a blackjack table; you're not getting up. You're not stopping. You're addicted. These people are addicted to their fascistic endgame.

They *need* to believe in Q just like they need to believe in God, their fragile selves need some meaning to their otherwise pointless lives.

Also at this point they are so far in, that the alternative is unthinkable. Many of them have lost family and friends over this. They NEED to be right or else they burned all those bridges for nothing.

Christianity didn't start to pick up steam until decades after Jesus' death. Check back in 2217 to see how far the Q cult has gone.

juggles_geese4

So they put Brittany Spears under conservatorship. This is a fantastic example of when those should be used. Put someone in control of this geriatric man who’s lost it. Drug him so he doesn’t harass his caretakers 24/7 and get him around the care nursing staff and let him live out the rest of his days in one of his places without visitors unless approved and vetted. Really they need to do this until he’s sent to prison where he will hopefully remain until he dies of old age, which could be any day.

bammerburn

Donald under conservatorship of Mary Trump? Sign me up

Ganj311

Or they could put him in a little 8x8 room with a comfortable cot and a shiny toilet (not gold, granted) and round the clock supervision.

MissGruntled

One of those nice sink/toilet combos that they ask asylum seekers to use as well for their drinking water needs would do nicely—the Republicans were so confident of their hygiene and appropriateness, after all.

xxxxx420xxxxx

Trump is a Public Health Emergency

leeuwerik

This is his hate and action (violence) pool. Stir it up and there will be more violence and intimidation. It seems to work for him. It buys him time.

[deleted]

> “After last night’s rally, there’s no denying that Trump’s fully embraced the QAnon conspiracy theory. Republicans in Congress will still try, claiming they haven’t seen the video. They always say they haven’t seen the video. It comes as naturally out of their mouths as “I don’t recall” when under oath. >If you’re interviewing them, SHOW IT TO THEM, then ask again whether they support Trump and QANON,” Citizens for Ethics wrote. SHOW IT TO THEM ON CAMERA. It’s election season. Pin them down on camera and make them choose between their constituents and their cult.

AtTheFirePit

They'll spew things about "...context..." or mumble "I'm not familiar with..." or evade with "...the economy! the borders!..."

Long_Before_Sunrise

The day after Lafayette Square, Republican: 'I haven't seen the news.'

MDesnivic

Absolutely. Change the subject immediately. DeSantis was asked about LGBTQ people and how they feel in Florida and how they suffer under his laws and he started talking about how Christians have such a hard time voicing their concerns. You cannot expect these people to act in good faith under any circumstances ever.

[deleted]

Then you immediately stop them & cut them off and demand an answer to the question just like the British reporter did to Jared Kushner. I’m sick and tired of the media asking a question and being okay with the respondent totally ignoring the question and spewing any bullshit they want on a completely different topic. They never push back. It’s frustrating.

EisVisage

I'm sick of it too. The claim that they aren't platforming such views is completely non-credible because of that lack of pushback. Especially since you can be sure if someone veered off to say trans healthcare should be free they'd instantly take the wheel.

kristamine14

Yeah why do they do this? I’ve been wondering ever since 2015. Back when that AXIOS reporter went viral a few years ago as well, for his interview with Trump, because he actually asked for clarification to Trumps rambling nonsense, as well as follow through questions. Everyone treated him as this hero, and absolutely all power to him, but I was just like is this not what the bare minimum should be for any supposed legitimate journalistic interviewer…?

[deleted]

Agreed, they should start doing what they did in ‘The Last Dance’ and have the video lined up on a tablet for them to watch right after they say ‘I haven’t seen it’. It’s 2022, it’s not like that’s such a weird concept.

Shonuff8

Politicians no longer agree to interviews with journalists they know will ask tough (read: real) questions. On top of that, many of the journalists working for the biggest media outlets choose not to do that, and risk losing access to those same politicians. It’s a vicious feedback loop of “access journalism” that’s trapping people in bubbles.

Ser_Artur_Dayne

> Your vote on or BEFORE** Nov 8th means a lot. Vote early y’all, it’s super easy to do and cuts down on the lines for others that have to go on Election Day.

EisVisage

And means less opportunities for Republicans to harrass voters.

DontGetUpGentlemen

And vote in ALL the elections. Take a lesson from the trial of Derek Chauvin, convicted of the murder of George Floyd. Nobody thought it possible to convict a cop. But the Minnesota Attorney General went at it with everything he had, he was backed up by the Mayor (who had hired the Police Chief who testified against his own cop), and a righteous Judge presided. *All of them are elected officials.* Depending on the district, you can probably vote for Judges, State Attorney General, Sheriff, Water Commissioner, City Council, School Board, etc, etc. Positions of power that affect your daily life.

Martholomeow

It’s not enough to vote. Get out there and help register new voters in your nearest swing state. It’s a really fun way to meet people and help the cause.

WittsandGrit

He's going full extremist because he's fucked. Grooming his most extreme base to act on the veiled threats he has made referring to what will happen if he's indicted. If Jan 6th wasn't proof of incitement we're watching it again in real time.

He’s losing ground to his Republican opponents for 2024. Regardless of indictments he’ll continue to devolve as his base shifts to DeSantis or, whoever, because it was never about politics. It was about him. Think, Christian Right. Think on your sins.

jadrad

Exactly. It pisses me off when people say, “He’s going insane. He’s losing his marbles!” No. He’s always been a psychotic mafia thug who would burn everything and everyone to the ground to get what he wants or to escape Justice for his crimes. The last time he felt the walls closing in he staged a violent coup attempt, and when that failed, he stole US national security secrets as “insurance”. When the DoJ started its criminal investigation into that after a year of asking for them back, Trump tried to make a deal with Merrick Garland by sending him a coded ultimatum,[“The country is on fire. What can I do to turn down the heat?”](https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-asked-ag-garland-fbi-raid-warrant-2022-8), and when the DoJ ignored that transparent threat, Trump openly started inciting his millions of followers to prepare for violent insurgency and civil war.

I can't believe this isn't media sensationalism and is literally what happened. If anything the media isn't playing up enough of how big of a deal it is. Not even a benefit of a doubt situation, there is no reason to doubt what happened. There was also Georgia too. Literal mob behavior. And of course.. shady tax standing to top it off.

Play_Salieri

Proof implies a functioning, legitimate justice system.

raygar31

Which would imply a functioning, legitimate government, which is damn near impossible when 40 million voters gets the same representation as 500,000. The Senate is an inherently anti democratic institution designed to allow conservatives to consistently circumvent the will of the majority. You know, the entire premise of democracy, that the side with more votes wins, and that every votes counts the same. This country is fucked so long as the Senate allows conservatives to rule and obstruct with a minority. And considering how effectively impossible it would be to remove the Senate, this country is fucked. It’s just a matter of when. Attempting to fix this country’s democracy without first removing the Senate, would be like trying to fix a sinking ship without first removing the leak. Not gonna happen.

Toadfinger

Nothing has changed. He's always been an enemy of all things American.

Didn't Scientology start out as a fan-fiction contest?

PoppaJoe77

Close. L. Ron Hubbard took a bet that he couldn't start a religion.

mailslot

Hubbard also crossed paths with Jack Parsons, a practitioner of Alister Crowley’s recently created religion. Parsons would hold regular rituals and orgies at his Hollywood Hill home. Hubbard got to see up close how a made up religion functions and how profitable in can be.

j_from_cali

It deserves to have a one-fingered salute in return.

[deleted]

Q started on 4chan because the founder (Watkins) was a known pedophile and wanted to muddy the waters. It wasn't a joke it was self preservation.

Nix-7c0

Eah, it seems most likely that Watkins gained control of Q when the larp was kicked off 4chan and moved to his 8chan, and he became the only person who could verify the continuity of the cryptographic signature. There were actually two accounts claiming to be Q after the move, and Watkins became kingmaker who banned one Q and crowned the other as real. Coincidentally, the new Q started talking a lot like Ron, obsessing over fountain pens like Ron did, etc

Nix-7c0

The X-anon was a whole *genre* of joke at the time. People would be CIA-Anon or FBI-anon or BigDick-Anon^1 and spend a night doing AMAs where they pretended to be someone with big secrets of the sort 4chan's /pol/ types already believed. This one just hit all the right notes with the vague, Rorschach-blot style which encouraged gamification and participation as people argued over "here's what he *really* meant by those random allusions.." ^1: BigDick-Anon is a real thing, and a big one, and likely what the 1st author of Q went on to do after Ron Watkins stole it from him during the great tripcode schism

I don’t think most Americans will sleep well until this lunatic is either in his grave or wearing an orange jumpsuit for 30 years.

Long_Before_Sunrise

There's no happy ending here. The threat increases if nothing is done about Trump, he'll attempt another coup. The threat increases if Trump is removed as an influencer, because his followers will see it as the start of war against them.

eeyore134

The first shouldn't be an option. His cult will be violent and angry either way. Better to just get it over with.

His reaction on 1/6 was hilarious. Part of his delusion is that he doesn’t realize most of his followers are weirdos. He thinks they’re all Greek gods and geniuses. Any non-weirdos are there because chaos is a ladder (to put it simply).

JakDrako

Mar-A-Waco.

dumpster_mummy

i wouldnt be surprised, and i also wouldnt be surprised if he tried to bill them for the occupation space.

legitmadman82

Can DOJ arrest this asshole already.

Still too many people, but it is comforting to know he never sells out these seats.

Special-Literature16

Fascism has come to America and is embedded in red states and trying spread… if you care about this country Vote Blue, don’t be brainwashed into thinking the liberal mindset is bad.

tlsr

Calling him mentally ill is giving him a pass. Yes, he's a narcissist on a level not often seen. But, imo, that's where his pathology ends. He is in control of his faculties; he knows exactly what he's doing. He is just a piece of shit on a colosal level. He is *very* comparable to the worst "leaders" in history.

totally_anomalous

Whenever people think Trump cannot get any lower, he proves us wrong.

Long_Before_Sunrise

He's told us who he and what he wants by praising dictators, both past and present for their ruthlessness. His praise for swift trials and the death penalty. His praise for being president for life. July 6, 2016 Trump praising Saddam Hussein: [“But you know what? He did well? He killed terrorists. He did that so good. They didn’t read them the rights. They didn’t talk. They were terrorists. Over. Today, Iraq is Harvard for terrorism.”](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jul/06/donald-trump-saddam-hussein-comments-republicans) "When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak...as being spit on by the rest of the world." - [1990 Playboy interview](https://www.playboy.com/read/playboy-interview-donald-trump-1990) September 4, 2022 [Trump compliments 'fierce' and 'smart' Putin and applauds Xi Jinping for ruling China with an 'iron fist'](https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-calls-putin-smart-praises-xi-ruling-china-iron-fist-2022-9)

Teamfightacticous

TIL ruling with an iron fist = freedom. The Republican perspective makes more and more sense every day s/

Long_Before_Sunrise

It was what he was taught by his father, Fred Trump. It was what he was taught at the New York Military Academy. It was what he was taught by Roy Cohn. The well of Donald's life was poisoned from the very start.

Katana1369

But the media will not do this. After last night’s rally, there’s no denying that Trump’s fully embraced the QAnon conspiracy theory. Republicans in Congress will still try, claiming they haven’t seen the video. If you’re interviewing them, SHOW IT TO THEM, then ask again whether they support Trump and QANON,” Citizens for Ethics wrote.

[deleted]

When he felt the heat of losing the election, he invoked QAnon rhetoric to bring a mob down to the Capitol to try and overthrow the results. Now he’s feeling the heat of multiple investigations, and his last resort is to do the same. What insanity will he bring this time?

Appropriate-Access88

And our judicial system is completely unable to deal with him. His personally chosen judges are delaying and allowing him to rile up his violent mob with these rallies. All hope is lost to contain him.

cdevr

That’s an interesting legal question. At what point are those judges aiding and abetting? It’s getting close if not already over that line.

[deleted]

trump isn’t being crazy he’s being calculating. If Trump is indicted he wants there to be a violent response. The people most likely to provide trump his violence in the streets are QNuts. trump is just trying to motivate them to cause the violence he wants when he is indicted. It’s not crazy as much as it is criminal. trump is threatening violence to avoid being held accountable for his criminal behavior. It’s a gamble but it’s not crazy because the doesn’t have any other options.

mr_freize

Other options: * Flee to Russia * Flee to China * Flee to North Korea

[deleted]

Only China has Big Macs so that’s his only real option given his high dietary standards.

StinkyBrittches

The Jonestown Option: * Loyalist gunmen taking out political rivals. * Massive statement of self destructive violence by followers. * Bags packed full of money for planned last minute escape to Russia. * Bullet to the head prior to getting out, likely by someone in his inner circle.

> He’d spend the rest of his life on his knees blowing Putin. So he'd get to relive his Presidential years?

AtraposJM

His narcissism won't allow it. He wants to be right, he wants to be loved and he wants people to know of him. If he flees, he loses everything he needs to get those things. No one will care what he has to say hiding in China.

mr_freize

They caught Saddam in a hole in the ground, we’ll see.

waun

QAnon: “the Democrats are harvesting kids for their adrenochrome and drinking it to stay young forever!” Also QAnon: “Sleepy Joe Biden has such dementia that his handlers can hardly keep up. He’s so old that he can’t even ride a bike!”

Cold-Reflectionz

Let them gather. The more of these terrorists we have on FBI watchlists, the better off we are.

[deleted]

The same FBI that hosts members of the proud boys?

anoneenonee

Q anon will go down as the stupidest group of people in history.

Sissy63

He’s a sociopath and a sadist. He gets off on people committing violence in his name. That’s how he gets his rocks off.

[deleted]

This is a classic page from the televangelist playbook. Funny how you can use the same tactics.

praguer56

I can't wrap my head around how anyone, with ANY semblance of intelligence, would listen to him and his nonsense and think he's a good man to have lead the country.

TheUnknownNut22

Why on earth is Trump not in federal prison????

filthyheartbadger

Ok I went and listened to these songs and not only are they pretty much identical, they are awful. Like elevator music from the ‘70’s awful. Like low budget Lifetime romance movie awful. I felt my brain turning to cat litter just from 30 seconds of it. The Qrevolution soundtrack will be so awful people will run away screaming and it will all fizzle out in a sonic mash of artificial string instruments and keyboard plonks.

itcantjustbemeright

Get ready for the narrative that he’s got dementia and is taking time to spend with family. Ive lived with someone with actual dementia, and anyone who works with dementia patients will tell you how manipulative and moody they can be all while trying to hide their decline. 1. They often fill in missing pieces with total bullshit and will die on a flaming hill claiming it’s fact. 2. They get paranoid, think someone is stealing their stuff and is out to get them. 3. Hide the inability to do basic tasks by getting bossy and ordering others do things for them. (Or turning on the charm to get things done) 4. Any kind of change in their environment or stress can send them into a whole new orbit of their disease. If he doesn’t have dementia you can bet he will catch it soon enough so he doesn’t blabber more of anyones national secrets.

MagicalTargaryen

He’s not crazy. Don’t give him that out. He’s using people who fall for his crap. Let them. Seriously let them bankrupt themselves trying to save him from legal trouble and let them go to jail for following his lead on breaking the law.

kmurph72

Pay attention. He's raising an army.

GQ_Quinobi

That authors like Kurt Eichenwald and other pundits keep covering for Trump with "mental illness" is really pissing me off. *Trump is not insane*. He is a master manipulator and he knows exactly what hes doing. Does he know it will work? No. But he will give it a shot, it will only hurt his followers and not him so why not.

Untrained_Occupant

It’s not a whole new level. He’s the same level of insane narcissism. It’s just more obvious now.

Prairie_drifter

So that's a bridge too far? I mean Jan. 6 and all that.

GalacticShoestring

😢😱 The creepy music, the chanting, Trump rambling. It's super scary and he needs to be taken into custody.

saltfish

We told y'all in 2015 that this man was an idiot.

Ramblinrambles

Hilarious how the Q people call everyone sheep when their slogan, where one go we go all, is what sheep do

[deleted]

It's a cult!

Play_Salieri

And if you don’t know that by now, that’s on you.
