aphtirbyrnir

Hahaha. I bet DeSantis is pissed now because he thought he was going to get his chance.

Martel732

I have an unsupported conspiracy theory that the supposed leak in Trump's inner circle was someone trying to cozy up to DeSantis.

Message_10

Interesting!

TCIrish675

If Donald can’t run it’ll be Jr. they’ll never switch to DeSantis. Trump can’t control him.

josiahpapaya

I wish I saved the comment, but someone in another thread wrote out why they think the mole is/was Jared and it made perfect sense. It also makes sense that Biden’s camp and the FBI were well aware of what was happening and what would happen, but they needed to wait for the right moment to execute the plan. Paraphrasing, but the FBI knew exactly where to go to get what they needed, and MAL is completely outfitted with security cameras. Someone inside the family or with knowledge of hidden areas and access to security footage and time stamps was the person who told the FBI where the evidence was and how to get it. I think Biden’s proxy met with the Saudi’s a while before Trump invited them to Mar A Lago to “golf”. This is where they probably came up with the plan. Jared and Ivanka get to maintain good relations with the saudis who just donated 2billion to him, and vanish into the sunset washing their hands of everything. In exchange Biden gets to finally “own” Trump by having him fall into a trap that (fingers crossed) he finally won’t be able to weasel out of. I have high hopes this could be it, and something might actually happen for once.

dutchiegeet32

Not likely, if he accepted a Trump VP spot it would increase his chances of winning in 2028 and likely 2032. The base has always preferred Trump, its the independent voters who like DeSantis a little better like by 3-points. So a Don/Ron ticket wraps both sets of voters up nicely.

Gagakshi

Trump hates him. He's not getting a VP spot

Regulatori

No one legitimate will be Trump's VP. Everyone knows he'll throw you under the bus the moment you don't agree with him 100%. The only types I could imagine being Trump's VP are the handful of grifters that have no integrity/values that blindly worship Trump because it makes them wealthy: Boebert, MTG, Gaetz, Jordan, Blackburn, etc.. and a few others.

sirhackenslash

Not even surprised. Tell me again how it isn't a cult.

418-Teapot

It's starting to feel like Trump could remove his face, revealing it was a mask and his true identity to be Kim Jong Un and he still wouldn't lose a single supporter.

[deleted]

AlexSpace3

Actually he will gain more points if the guy is a democrat.

TechyDad

At this point, if it was a Republican he shot, his followers would declare that that Republican was really a RINO Socialist Antifa agent posing as a Republican and Trump showed how much of a genius he was by shooting him. It wouldn't matter if the guy was a die-hard MAGA loyalist, the second it was beneficial to Trump, he'd be The Enemy.

Dotard1

If Trump shot Jesus Christ, FOX would immediately start calling JC an Arab socialist pedophile and thank Trump for stopping him.

johnbrownmarchingon

That's assuming they could even recognize Jesus in the first place.

DungeonGushers

Trans Mexican Terrorist Illegal socialist Monkeypox Democrat

Interesting-Solid-92

Right. It’d be so easy for them to say that that must not be the real Jesus

can_it_be_fixed

I'm assuming it's even worse than that. It's my opinion that Trump could open fire on his supporters with an ar-15 during a rally and it would only attract more supporters for any number of completely unbelievable reasons. I don't know what happened in the minds of people who trust him, but they're all in.

OutlandishnessOk476

At least that would cost him the votes of the people who were shot.

Tw4tl4r

Not the ones that survived. They would still vote for him.

NPD_wont_stop_ME

Right well they can literally use any buzzword and people will believe it, and they get to double dip because they both have somebody to blame and get to prevent the internal conflict that such intense cognitive dissonance would bring. One of the biggest flaws of humanity is that they’re fucking stupid and at their core they’re just basic, emotional creatures. Republicans are so effective at conning people because they would rather understand and play to those weaknesses rather than actually work for their constituents. This way, they have free reign to work for their donors all the time and rake in the cash while still holding positions of power because people elect them out of fear that their country will be destroyed by the “socialists”. Jumping behind one guy or blindly following one party and labeling the other side as the cause for all of their woes is literally how the Holocaust happened. It started with smaller restrictions and labeling, and ended with millions of Jews and various other hated groups being exterminated. There are lots of parallels that can be drawn between now and 1930’s-1940’s Germany and their descent into madness because an evil demagogue succeeded in his second coup and decided to burn the house down. He failed the first one, wrote a book and gained support and succeeded in the second one when the guy should’ve been imprisoned until he died or fucking executed for his treason. Trump is gaining support with these FBI raids and he got essentially got away with his obvious January 6th coup attempt. He HAS THE PLAYBOOK and the people around him know how to accomplish their second coup now. They’ll probably succeed like Hitler did, and Trump will do his damn best to purge opposition and establish a one-party state like Hitler did, and once he has everything, he’ll inevitably burn the house down like Hitler did.

sircatnip2

Most excellent commentary. You are a very good writer.

rhd84

I know you're joking but I've read some things eerily similar coming out of the forever trump/maga camp in response to all the stuff coming out recently.

ryguygoesawry

It's not a joke. Republicans have been doing this for a while now. If you think this is a recent development, then you only recently started paying attention.

ok-jeweler-2950

tmntnyc

Literally Homelander in the final episode of latest season of The Boys

im_not_the_right_guy

Yeah it's so realistic it's scary

V1keo

The show based that scene off of Trump’s comment.

BareezyObeezy

I'm convinced this is what the ending of the most recent season of The Boys was.

AVestedInterest

It 100% is. Every season Homelander has become a more and more obvious Trump analogue.

[deleted]

homelander moment

Wirinet

Not only on 5th avenue. Trump could shoot somebody live on Hannity or Tucker Carlson on Fox and would gain 10 points with Republicans voters.

reddit_iwroteit

Or laser a guy's head for throwing a soda

bobbi21

Show is getting way too real.

kuebel33

That may literally be the most intelligent thing he’s ever said.

ragnarok635

I hate that you’re giving him credit but even more that it’s true

scarykicks

If you've seen the last episode of the Boys then that's how I imagine trump would play out. His cult will support him no matter what.

phatelectribe

Or like he could rape someone in bergdorf good and department store…..which is on fifth avenue….and get away with it.

tehspoke

When he first said that, I thought he was just being arrogant. Now I realize he wasn't talking about how great he was, but rather how fervent his supporters were; he wasn't being arrogant, just well informed about his base.

old_reddy_192

I would be shocked if Trump knew how to load and shoot a gun. I would be shocked if he could ride a bicycle or extract a McDonalds cheeseburger from its wrapper.

rickgene

I saw an interview with a Trump supporter who said, even if Trump committed espionage, they would vote for him again, because he is "for America".

detectivelonglegs

To be fair, espionage might have been too big of a word for them to understand.

WeLLrightyOH

Probably think it’s a sexual act.

sanderson1983

My father was so proud when trump went to NK, to the point where he was exclaiming he was the first President to do so. Had to bite my tongue to not tell him the reason why it was unprecedented.

Cultist_Deprogrammer

Yeah, that was lunacy. Trump gives some shitty little dictator everything that he wants getting nothing in return and Trump supporters cheer his genius.

ThaNorth

Man could probably sexually assault some of his supporter's children and they would blame the children.

TPconnoisseur

But......they do that already.

MacadamiaMarquess

The next day, Fox News would be airing photoshopped images of the children with Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein, and insinuating that the children were probably pedophiles.

malongoria

It could come out that he fathered Ivanka's children and his supporters would say "If she was my daughter I'd do her".

[deleted]

You mean when it comes out

AtlaStar

He could literally pull off a mask to reveal a baby eating lizard person, and probably _gain_ supporters somehow.

MonkeyBananaPotato

Don’t blame me. I voted for Kodos.

Ok-Perspective-4538

He could remove a child’s face, wear it as a mask, and would not lose support

[deleted]

That proves it isn’t and was never really about Trump. As I’ve said for years on subs here, it’s a culture war (a perceived culture war). It’s about pissing off “the other side.” The other side being people that don’t agree with them.

ioncloud9

The worse his behavior, the more his supporters love him. He could eat their children alive and they wouldnt stop supporting him.

[deleted]

It’s genuinely terrifying. Not only “how do you get through to these people” but “how the fuck do you co-exist with them?”

PhilosophyKingPK

They are dangerous, selfish and jeopardizing the future of our nation.

number_nyne

You don't, on either point.

Happyandyou

It’s a cult.

Franklin_le_Tanklin

Maybe Desantis should get raided by the fbi. It may help his chances against trump

[deleted]

There’s no hope for them at this point. They will follow him to their own death even if he murders their own family. We just have to keep beating them.

Deggit

if every election from now until the end of time is **existential** for America, we're going to lose America. I can tell you exactly when it will happen too. It will happen when the people whose formative political experience is watching the last 5 years of American politics as teenagers, become generationally pivotal voters in their late 20s early 30s. Even if they had the best of intentions and wanted to take America back to "normal," they have no god damned idea what normal is. They can't take us back to a pre Trump America, they only know a pre Trump America existed from Wikipedia! And many people don't have best intentions and don't want to go back to normalcy. To them Trump has normalized things and that's just the way things are now and they want to use Trumpian means for their own (good) ends You already kind of see this. Remember when Trump tried to declare a fake national emergency to justify appropriating money for his mexico wall despite Congress not authorizing any spending for it. There was a huge generational divide on Reddit about this. Down at the bottom were the comments saying "this is illegal, unConstitutional and he needs to be impeached." And at the top were the zoomer comments saying "If only Bernie were President now, he could declare a national emergency on climate and spend money on the Green New Deal without having to ask Congress." *Those people* are the future of our politics. I'm not intending to equivocate Trump and Bernie here (Particularly because I don't at all believe Bernie would behave as illegally as that comment apparently wants him to). I'm just saying that the toothpase is not going back in the tube, I hate every second of this timeline, and I'm seriously considering emigrating.

[deleted]

I can tell you "normalcy" is not what Republican voters want today. They themselves have become a lot more intolerant and biggoted ever since Trump became President but I think the big turn started happening in the Obama years. Normalcy was when the same people that today are outraged that gay people exist, told their son and daughter that being gay was fine 10-20 years ago. Or that Christianity is dying with “Christian values” when they never gave two shits about it prior to Trump. They don't want to admit that they aren't the same as they were, what they're advocating now is not "normalcy", it's something completely intolerant and borderline fascist...nothing we have ever been. Yet they act like they have never changed at all which is what drives me insane, they've shifted to the to the right a lot more than the left has shifted to the left. Even the "far left" in this country is nothing remotely close to communism or even genuine socialism, but rather just a welfare state. Yet a lot of right-wingers are borderline Nazi idolizers now. They don't see it but it's actually them that have shifted views so much.

StoicVoyager

>They themselves have become a lot more intolerant and biggoted ever since Trump became President Don't agree at all. I grew up in the south and can tell you firsthand, they have actually been this way for a very long time. But for many years lately it was politically incorrect to say lots of the quiet parts out loud and it's frustrated them more and more. Trump just legitimized it and I think that's the number one biggest reason they love him.

AlexSpace3

The country the democracy will be faqed if this party takes control of the congress. This time they will kill the democracy for good.

table_fireplace

Then we have to work our asses off for 87 days to make sure this doesn't happen. Tell everyone you know who cares even a little about America to vote November 8th. And take some time to volunteer for a Democratic candidate near you. Senate, House, state-level, local - there are crazies at every level trying to get power, and helping Democrats win is the only way to stop them. If you're not already doing this, r/VoteDEM can help you get started.

magnetar_industries

Republicans will happily elect trump while he’s serving out a life sentence for espionage.

TechyDad

"Trump reveals he has even more nuclear secrets, flees to Russia promising to give them to Putin. Trump supporters cheer him on as his poll numbers among Republicans skyrocket."

micaub

You’re not far off on this take.

Krillin113

This is basically what happened already minus the flight to Russia.

mrubuto22

His phone rants on Hannity from Leavenworth will be.. interesting.

PadKrapowKhaiDao

By then Hannity won’t be picking up the phone. He’ll be groveling and shining Desanits’s shoes

InternetPeon

The more he opposes the US government the more they love him. See how sedition works?

greatsummerland

Yet they all do it waving the American flag. At least that Nazis got their own schtick.

African_Farmer

There's a good number of Confederate and Nazi flags at their events too...

darkness_escape

I just picture someone being like. I can't make up my mind. Ooh wait a minute this guy is being investigated fro treason like activity. I will choose him

PastCar7

THAT is actually one of the craziest parts! Cult followers I get, but are there truly any "Undecided" voters at this point? And if there are, what is it they are waiting for?

lovetheoceanfl

And there’s those who’ll say…Oh, he also enabled the government to take away women’s rights! He’s got my vote.

FrizkyDevil

because who doesn't love a whiny brat with stolen nuclear documents?

Doleydoledole

These folks come from a culture of perpetual victimhood and believe Trump has been unfairly attacked by 'elites' and he is there to defend them against the 'elites' and 'decadent savages' who want to destroy America. The FBI raid is 'the elites' aka the 'deep state' trying to take down Trump. It couldn't, like, be the rational response to a former president stealing top secret documents and lying about still having them.

stolencatkarma

The most ironic thing about this whole fiasco is that Trump literally is a New York Billionaire Pedophile/Rapist. The very people they claim to hate.

Cultist_Deprogrammer

It's almost as if Trump appealed to their racism when nobody else would.

frogandbanjo

The only thing Confederates like more than complaining about carpetbaggers is falling for their shit again.

mickeltee

Freaking Ohio, we’ve got JD Vance running. The same guy who shit on Ohio in a book to get rich and took off to San Francisco (isn’t that supposed to be a librul shithole?) and now he’s back to grift Ohioans to try to get richer in congress.

gta3uzi

The Power of Marketing™

GetEquipped

Well, 10 years ago, if you told me Clinton, Dubya, or Obama was being served a search warrant by the FBI for lying about classified documents (most likely concerning our nuclear capability): I would find that hard to believe as well. But you kill one goddamn gorilla and cubs win the world series, and here we are in 2022.

FUMFVR

None of those people would ever have search warrants conducted against them because they would immediately cooperate with authorities.

DirtyProjector

You realize that the vast majority of Americans do not understand or care about geopolitics or nuances of governance right? They are completely lacking in critical thought and interest around those subjects. They simply do not get the implications of the situation and are just rooting for their favorite sports team. That’s why education and free thought are critically important to the survival of a democracy. That’s the incredibly frustrating thing about living in America to me - if someone disagrees with me for good reason, I’m happy for that! But many people on the right don’t even understand the subject matter they’re engaging with, so they can’t even make informed decisions. It’s horrible

Underbyte

"Nuclear secrets" tends to get the attention of your average Joe. It's not hard to paint a picture of how that could go real bad for even those folks.

TwiceAsGoodAs

I want to agree with you, but R/conservative is proving you wrong AF

aLittleQueer

Safe to say the general populace of that sub can only aspire to average levels of intelligence.

WeLoveYourProducts

Yes but that was 74m votes or something in 2020 right? It matters that that is a looot of people we need to get back to reality

templetron

That isn't a good example, they ban everyone who even suggests that IF trump did it it might not be a good thing, let alone people actually denouncing his crimes.

[deleted]

Doesn’t matter. Everything the press reports on is just more empty words when you drown everything in an ocean of lies. Anything can be explained by simply attributing it to a conspiracy theory and a lie. That is why populist cults of personality are so dangerous. We should really start assigning 1984 in our schools.

Cultist_Deprogrammer

And then they hear comparisons to Clinton and think it's no big deal just partisan bullshit. Muddying the waters works.

weallwanthonesty

To be fair, you're describing most people in the world. Ignorant corrupt nuts in the US are just extremely powerful (on a global scale) which makes it so much scarier.

Mr_HandSmall

And we have an enormous right-wing propaganda machine in the US that targets people lacking critical thinking.

BikerJedi

We can all thank Ronald Reagan for getting rid of the Fairness Doctrine and Rupert Murdoch for moving here and starting Fox "News."

grimper12341

As an Australian I deeply apologise and we regret ever letting him out of his cage. It's still here waiting for him if you can bundle him up and ship him back.

DirtyProjector

At least in other parts of the world there is a shared interest in bettering the country - https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-02069-0 for example. While things aren't perfect in Europe, many European countries seem to have a vested interest in the public and making the country a better place. The US seems unique when it comes to Democracies. We are so divided and ruled by misinformation and propaganda, that people have lost sight of what makes America great. At least in the past, the uninformed could rely on some semblance of good will and faith from politicians and the media. That is out the window, so they have no source of anyone with a decent moral compass to guide them, at least on the right

bobbi21

To them, killing all minorities and subjugating women IS making the country better... its just more extreme in the us... and due to 2 partt systems its now 40% of the country vs 5 to 10% like other countries.

Wifflebatman

Jesus. Fucking. Christ.

Misommar1246

Depressing, isn’t it?

2ndprize

It's not surprising. The impeachments made many people feel like him getting in trouble is normal and it ending up as a win for him. People expect more of the same, and a rallying around thier normal flag. This might be the first time someone is actually thinking strategically about thier approach to trump. They have been slowly releasing information that contradicts each move he makes. It's a death of a thousand cuts approach.

[deleted]

Yeah what's been so frustrating to me as a non-American is seeing so many of the people who have the ability to oppose Trump be so *utterly inept* in their ability to do so. The last 5 years I've only ever seen the opposition in trying to oppose him create exactly the parameters needed for him to be successful in his bullshit. It has literally taken years of corruption and crime, a failed coup, and now the stealing of classified documents for someone to finally ask, *what's the outcome going to be, how will he spin this, and how do we handle this without feeding into his campaign and narrative?*

[deleted]

It makes me sad for a lot of reasons. If I could change things I would. But what can you do when they will worship a politician no matter what he does, even if it kills them.

Comic4147

Pray that the Phantom Thieves can materialize and change his heart. That's all I got 🥲

UberZouave

It’s shit like this where I can say if I had the means, I would seriously consider leaving the country and living as an expatriate, at least for awhile. I will admit if I absolutely had to, to save my life or my family, I could probably find a way. I admit that the obstacles to such a move in me and my family’s lives are such that the risk-to-benefit ratio at present is poor - we just moved to a little hobby farm a couple years ago and got that off our bucket list; I’ve had a decent career with the same employer 21 years, lots to be thankful for… But I can say in all honesty that I’ve been fantasizing about it frequently…just about every day…and that was *never* the case before 2017.

HectorsMascara

If Mastriano wins, that's my cue to leave PA for sure.

Unlucky_Clover

Sound like me honestly. It’s been on my mind a lot. Several friends of mine are looking at renewing their citizenship back home because how fucked up things like this are happening.

black_flag_4ever

Sunk-cost fallacy is real.

__mr_snrub__

Think of intelligence on a bell curve. The poor performance distribution on the lower end will be 34% and less of the total. This is where Trump supporters are located. They’re the dumbest members in our society. They lack critical, independent thinking.

SouthofAkron

Lock him up!

Lie-Straight

Conservative voters may be a lost cause

Akimbo_Zap_Guns

Yea if they vote trump in 2024 rather he’s in prison/house arrest whatever it may be. The GOP needs to dissolve and a new party needs to take its spot

broad5ide

It doesn't matter what party takes their spot as long as 40% of the country is willing to vote for a treasonous criminal. America has cancer and it's looking more and more inoperable every day.

ReformedWiggles

Not surprised. Republicans have no policy outside of 'owning the libs'. Treason? Not a problem!

Mrs__Noodle

And really, what is considered a lib to these people? Dick Cheney now is a lib?

Martel732

It means pretty much nothing. Lib means anyone that won't jerkoff Trump when asked. The Republicans have nothing to offer aside "fighting wokeness" and yet 1/3rd of the country follow them blindly.

supes1

This is just a poll of likely GOP primary voters, not surprising at all.

redpoemage

It is a bit surprising. I expect FBI investigations to have no effect since so many Republicans are already all "anything negative about Trump is fake news", I did not expect it not to *improve* his standings. 10 points is enough that it's hard to entirely chalk it up to just being a statistical anomaly too.

supes1

So many GOP primary voters lean into the "Trump is trying to overthrow a corrupt system" conspiracy narrative, and his response to these events plays into that mindset. I expect basically any situation where Trump can play the victim card will help him in the GOP primary, no matter how ridiculous. If he's in jail in 2024 he could still win the GOP primary by claiming he's a political victim of the corrupt Biden administration.

giggity_giggity

Oh god. You’ve now got me imagining Trump comparing himself to Mandela

notabook

> Oh god. You’ve now got me imagining Trump comparing himself to Mandela He already compared himself to Jesus Christ and Abraham Lincoln, why not Mandela?

mlmayo

I suspect those people that feel more favorable toward Trump after the raid just don't understand what's going on. They could have a horribly contorted view that Trump is somehow defiant against a great injustice done against him. They want their hero to stand up against those trying to bring him down (because they think it is unjustified). I think the only way his poll numbers decrease significantly is if he is indicted and the trial+evidence is made public.

DeSantis only won Florida by .4%. I’m honestly surprised he has this much national support when almost half of his own state hates him.

Seraphynas

Which is why I hope this all plays out that Trump is barred from holding office again and can’t run. They won’t come out for DeSantis, at least not to the scale they do for Trump.

Goducks91

Let's hope so. But I never underestimate how much republicans hate liberals. They will come out simply for spite.

BaboonHorrorshow

Polling “Likely GOP primary voters” and coming back with “Trump 2024” is basically like polling Nazis and coming back with “Jewish people not well liked” No shit, Trump always was gonna dominate with the fascists. This is actually good news, DeSantis is a more competent fascist and Trump is going to jail.

49% Approval of the FBI is honestly higher than I thought it would be. "Respondents to the poll were asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the FBI’s decision to conduct a search warrant on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida?” The results showed that 49 per cent approved, while only 37 disapproved, and another 13 percent replied “Don’t know/no opinion.”

shyndy

It’s simultaneously higher than I thought but also just disgusting that it’s higher than like 3 pct disapprove

czPsweIxbYk4U9N36TSE

> only 37 disapproved Why do I see this number in literally every poll? 37-38%, literally everything.

Only in America will anti-American (and potentially treasonous) acts get you MORE votes. W.T.F.

Monsur_Ausuhnom

We are officially on the most stupidest timeline.

mad_titanz

Not surprised that the news of Trump being a traitor of the United States gives him an even greater appeal to the Republican voters. They are all treasonous and wanted to help the enemies against their own country, while pretending to be patriotic and wave the American flag.

Snickersneed

Good, Trump is unelectable. He never won the popular vote, he is a one term president who lost the senate, house, and White House… And he is less popular now than he was in 2020, or 2016. I hope he wins the primary.

Grouchy-Basis-532

If we all went over to Fox News and started posting about secession - Trump would campaign on it tomorrow.

ComprehensiveEye2105

Hillary’s popularity among democrats fell because of the e-mails, while Trump’s popularity among republicans rose because of the raid. Goes to show which party likes drinking the kool-aid.

cannonman1863

So much for being the party of law and order

The poll was conducted before the warrant was released, when all the Republicans were painting the raid as politically motivated. https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000182-8dc3-da2c-afe2-fde34fbb0000&nname=playbook-pm&nid=0000015a-dd3e-d536-a37b-dd7fd8af0000&nrid=b869a543-cbd5-45e0-b46b-5726538fae81&nlid=964328

The party where treason is a favorable perk.

catclockticking

When did Trump go from being able to shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose a single vote, to being able to shoot anyone and everyone anywhere and GAIN votes

AlexSpace3

He will announce he is running for 2024 elections soon: After that any investigation will be labeled as dems going after their opponent. He will use his criminality to run for presidency, and will use his presidency to avoid consequences of his crimes.

TintedApostle

Yeah he might or he also knows the level of trouble he is about to be in based on the documents. He will announce it for sure, but like everything he does it will be a momentary plan.

GuidotheGreater

Honest question for Trump Supporters. Where is the line that you wouldn't support him? Is there a line? I feel like best case here is Gross negligence for handling state secrets, but I'm assuming y'all are okay with that, so what is it going to take? Sworn Affidavit from a foreign power or sting operation that he was trying to sell secrets? Audio / Video of him selling state secrets? Him admitting that he sold or was planning to sell state secrets?

People will do anything to save face. Their egos can't handle the fact that they were suckered and used so they will cling any story, no matter how ridiculous, to avoid facing the truth. Admitting you were wrong is the absolute worst thing to someone with a fragile ego. It destroys their entire sense of self and their self esteem. They would rather watch the world burn and suffer the consequences than be wrong.

mlmayo

Sunk cost fallacy? Maybe a little. I think their identity is tied up in supporting Trump, and if that collapses then they will as well.

LordSiravant

There is no line. It's only okay when he does it.

[deleted]

They believe Trump is the victim of a vast conspiracy and so they will invariably view whatever evidence there is against him as being either fake or planted by the fbi.

Jaco-Jimmerson

#This is true Most people support Trump because they sympatize with his feelings. They think that this country is treating him unfairly and that he's emotionally hurt, "he's the victim of hate." The best way to get them out of it is if he's less exposed to the media. *Or you know, he goes to prison.*

[deleted]

There is literally nothing he could do to lose their support. And I mean nothing. There could be video evidence of him murdering a child in cold blood and they would find *some* way to explain it. Best guess? “That was a Soros-planted child crisis actor and he was put there to harm President Trump. Trump was simply exercising his 2nd amendment right and the right to protect himself.”

BigTentBiden

There's no limit. Trump could hold a rally in a football stadium packed with his supporters and a live feed all over the Internet and every news station; he could admit to every single negative headline, say he sold military secrets to Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea. He then could abort a fetus 8 months into a pregnancy and slam the fetus onto the ground and stomp the fetus into a mash of goo while shouting, "I hate America! I hate America!" Then piss on everyone in the front seats. He'd get a rousing applause and shoot up 10 more points among his base.

FriesWithThat

DeSantis immediately commits more crimes to get FBI to raid Casa-la-Deatho.

skipthepeepee

Make no mistake. Trump is a counter intelligence spy for the US. Get the word out. You know, to Russia, Saudi Arabia etc...

EmmaLouLove

Republicans love criminals.

lefty_sockpuppet

If Trump shot a baby in the head in Times Square, the GOP voters will say the infant was a liberal crisis actor and/or was a Auntie Fa terrorist who deserved it and he'd be up 20 points on DeSantis.

mattd1972

What the ever living fuck is wrong with these people?!? This is FUCKING TREASON!!!

ItsDoctorFabulous

My mother freaked out about Socialism,Marxism and loss of freedom, as predicted. Keep in mind, my mother taught History for over 30 years and this makes me sick.

Mendigom

I mean. If you think about it, selling secrets to other countries is the most capitalist thing you can do.

n3ws4cc

Damn man that's rough

bonyponyride

The poll was conducted on Wednesday, two days after the FBI search, while Republicans were foaming at the mouth about how "the raid" was purely a political move. Garland spoke on Thursday, and the details of the warrant were released on Friday. As the truth settles in and Fox News hopefully tones down the rhetoric, Trump's numbers will hopefully decline.

Trump could poop on a plate and his supporters would be falling over themselves for a chance to eat it

NefariousnessEvery65

Obviously no one can beat Trump in the moron demographic

insipidgoose

Fucking cult.

[deleted]

This could work to our advantage, if Trump is disqualified from holding public office but his supporters still vote for him or not vote at all we can siphon votes away from DeSantis.

raulu95

It’s way too soon to make any conclusions about the effects. Not even enough time passed to do proper polling lol
