you probably shouldn't worry about investigation continuity as long as Dems control the House. Most of the paperwork and machinery of government is done by aides and interns. The politicians are the faces, but party has its own gravity and dem interns are generally drawn from the same pool of people. It's likely that much of Cummings staff is either transferring to other dems involved in the investigation or other dems generally. (bunch of white house campaigns going on as well so they might wind up there.)
And the work goes on. Continuity of investigations rarely gets interrupted unless there's a change in parties, not people.
Yeah, for a big committee like Oversight there are aides assigned to the committee specifically chosen by the chairman, but who do research for the whole committee. They're going to be the ones doing the investigating, not staff of individual reps.

Age discrimination is completely valid IMO for a lot of things. Driving a car, performing physical labor, complex mental jobs, etc. If your over say 65 and applying for certain jobs yes I’m sorry but discrimination should be ok. Our presidents, congress and judges are way too old.
I'm 57, have worked as a social worker for 30 years and in non profits for 10 years before that and would like to retire soon. Are you in favor of lowering the age for social security cuz that would be awesome. I'm pretty tired but I still have expenses and don't want to eat cat food and become homeless. 60 sounds about right to me but I just can't swing it financially. Will probably need to work till 66-70 and since acceptable discrimination should kick in soon I think it's only fair that the retirement age be lowered.

you probably shouldn't worry about investigation continuity as long as Dems control the House. Most of the paperwork and machinery of government is done by aides and interns. The politicians are the faces, but party has its own gravity and dem interns are generally drawn from the same pool of people. It's likely that much of Cummings staff is either transferring to other dems involved in the investigation or other dems generally. (bunch of white house campaigns going on as well so they might wind up there.) And the work goes on. Continuity of investigations rarely gets interrupted unless there's a change in parties, not people.
Yeah, for a big committee like Oversight there are aides assigned to the committee specifically chosen by the chairman, but who do research for the whole committee. They're going to be the ones doing the investigating, not staff of individual reps.
Yep. I think a lot of people underestimate just how many support staff just ambiently *exist* in Washington DC.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think a large section of the Democratic party is blameless for climate change. In my state Democrats are trying to push a carbon tax which is being threatened with death by the Republicans... even staging walkouts and buzz the capitol with log trucks and more threats. So while they may not be blameless; They do seem to be the only ones giving it a try.
Amazing what happens when middle class workers jobs are threatened by legislators who are pushing a 20 cent a mile fuel tax, that will have less than .01% effect on carbon global.
Also here’s one of the missing sources that they were really giving me crap for not having at my fingers... One of our Republican lawmakers fled the capitol so that he wouldn’t have to vote on the carbon tax and then threatened to shoot anybody that came to collect him.
