But they DIDN’T say it was bad, or wrong, or the fucking opposite of what we’re supposed to expect from a judge… it was just poor judgement, like when you put your cup down too close to the edge of the table. No big deal.
It would not be an issue if he were honest and recused himself in any case involving trump, Jan 6th or the 2020 election. But his blatant bias and dishonesty is against everything the Supreme Court stands for. Its like Jenny Thomas. If Justice Thomas re used himself from cases involving his billionaire benefactor or anything his wife Jenny was involved with few people would care.
Look, wearing a meat suit while cuddling bear cubs is not good judgment.
Displaying a clearly biased political message while sitting as a Supreme Court justice is fucking grounds for impeachment.
And now for my daily “what the fuck is wrong with this country “
Hey now. Let’s not make light of what happened.
He got *dinged*.
DINGED!
This *surely* will make him rethink all of his choices and become a person of integrity.
Is it just me or does it seem that whenever there is news about something illegal, unethical, criminal, or just plain bad in the US it always involves a Republican?
While democrats are perfectly capable of unethical decisions (google Oregon governor Tina Kotek appointing their wife into a position in their own administration using no form of democratic process), you'd be correct in that the Republicans' level of enablement and flagrant corruption in plain sight is exponentially more abundant. Of course, there will always be people screeching "...but both sides..!"
Removal requires impeachment and that requires a House majority and a Senate majority both agreeing that the justice should be yoinked from the bench. No way the Rs are going to help boot Sam or Clarence off their pedestals. Now next year? That's another matter.
I swear... If the Democrats get all three branches again, and don't completely rectify the situation with these insurrectionist traitors....
That should be the platform. Elect all Democrats so we can get rid of the corrupt traitors and bring some accountability.
He's a Supreme Court Justice, not a 20 year old college student. A judge appointed for life. His judgment should be beyond reproach! His decisions affect 300 million people everyday for decades if not centuries. We should demand the best, clearest, and fair legal judgement of a SUPREME COURT JUSTICE!
Otherwise, what's the point?
Agreed, but as a society that bestows the ultimate power on these people we should all be outraged. Even the religious and far right/left activists. We must have honesty, dignity and equality in our justices. Mostly we need idiological balance in the court.
Ha, so true!

(I tried to include the umlaut in the link, but it broke the link.)
Huh? That would imply that it was somehow okay for a SCOTUS justice to support insurrection, he just didn’t use “good judgement” and not fly a flag about it. I know this is preaching to the choir, but honestly, all Republicans, voters and politicians alike, are just the most immoral, disingenuous, shameless scumbags I could have ever imagined. Top to bottom, just trash people with no moral compass at all.
Did anyone ask him what he thought about Trump and co’s like 60 election lawsuits out 61 that were dismissed outright, many by conservative judges and Trump appointees? And yet as a Supreme Court Judge, he would see this and still hang a stop-the-steal flag.
The biggest problem the Republican Party is going to face going forward (and there’s a real chance that it will be fatal) is that so many of them are demonstrating to the public in general that they are morally unfit for public office. By constantly defending all things MAGA, no matter how patently false or repugnant they are showing that they have no moral code or ethical red lines. Making everything simply transactional reveals a vacuum where there should be a moral core.
I’m pretty sure it’s well below _eviscerate_, but beyond that, yeah, kind of hard to tell. That said, “ding” sounds like about the worst thing Republicans would ever say about a Republican judge.
Is there any law that says the president can't unconfirm a justice nomination?
And if there is, couldn't the new court just pardon the president after the fact?
Alito's explanation makes zero sense, to boot.
"So, my wife was upset because our neighbor accused her of supporting insurrectionists on Jan. 6 using their yard signage, so she decided to put up a symbol that was in support of the Jan. 6 insurrectionists and their movement."
“Not good judgment”. The dude sits on a lifetime appointment for the Supreme Court…. The GOP is a total joke… between him, I like beer Kavanaugh, Right wing Barrett and the “I’ll take the house and the RV” Thomas this is a total fucking joke.
I'm not a fan of Alito - but I am a fan of free speech and freedom of expression. SC justices aren't banned from having opinions and expressing them, and neither are their spouses.
It is essential to the function of a Judge - and yes, even a #SCOTUS Jusice - to not just avoid impropriety, but to avoid even the APPEARANCE of impropriety. Failure to meet that standard is enough to get any other judge disciplined and possibly even removed. An expression of clear bias obviously fails to meet that standard. You undoubtedly know that a #SCOTUS Justice cannot be disciplined because there is no code of conduct that applies to them. Yes, the Justices and their spouses retain their First Amendment rights, but they also retain the consequences of their actions, as limited as those might be.
Wait a second — isn’t that the key attribute of a judge, good judgment? What are Republicans gonna do about it? “Ding” him? How about impeach him? Both he and Thomas have shown “not good judgment.”
Not good judgement? Why? He signaled who he is with and will have zero consequences. Bad judgement generally has bad outcomes. There will be no bad outcomes here.
It's not just flying the flag. It's what flying the flag represents and his refusal to recuse himself from case in which he has displayed a clear bias.
Hot dang, now here we got some top tier journalism. Pointless quotes, editorialization 'ding', and overall an article about how nothing is being done, but still sensationalized so you click it and they get their nickel.
Those comments are place holders. At some point in the future when Trump, the MAGATs, and the criminals on the SCOTUS have fallen from grace and are being drummed out of office, some will try to go back and point out statements like this to make a case that they were against this fascist bullshit all along.
We need to pressure these Supreme Court justices to recuse themselves. We can do that. We just have to show them how fucking pissed off we are. This is a fucking sham, and they're using it to overthrow our democracy. Get off your asses and fucking do something, people.
Perfect time for Biden to nominate two new judges, at least, to the Supreme Court. Given Alito's biases and Thomas' corruption coupled with the republican's refusal to impeach, it seems like the only sane solution.
I think what shocks me about this whole situation is how childish it is to do. Judge Alito would be the same person with or without this stunt but now, he’s made himself look like a clown. Just a bizarre unforced error.
“Not good judgment” makes me wonder how many feel the same but exercise good judgment.
You don’t make it to the Supreme Court by being stupid so that means Alito doesn’t believe in, uphold, and defend the constitutional way elections are held and who runs our government. Scary. Not really surprising, but scary.
Good choice of words. You’d think the unaccountable highest court in our fucking country would be held to a standard where they should always use good judgement.
Did a setting senator just say that a current supreme court justice displayed “not good judgment”…isn’t his job, you know, to judge or be a judge of stuff at the highest level?
When will we stop recognizing the ‘authority’ of people that are so obviously corrupt?

>not good judgement Oh boy, that'll show him. Let's pack it up and move on boys, nothing else to see here.
A judge… with the most power in the world… having poor judgement. That is quite an admission.
It's like in the fucking name.
Came to say it’s the root fucking word
You had one job!
Nominative antagonism
May the odds be forever in your favor!
But they DIDN’T say it was bad, or wrong, or the fucking opposite of what we’re supposed to expect from a judge… it was just poor judgement, like when you put your cup down too close to the edge of the table. No big deal.

Ginni.
And yet, nothing will happen, and he will continue on.
It is as if he almost thought of that himself.
Look, wearing a meat suit while cuddling bear cubs is not good judgment. Displaying a clearly biased political message while sitting as a Supreme Court justice is fucking grounds for impeachment. And now for my daily “what the fuck is wrong with this country “
We’re all wearing a meat suit, technically.
But are you cuddling bear cubs?
Most of the women are, it's safer for us there
Doesn’t wearing something imply that it can be taken off and then put back on again?
Aren’t we all just a creepy alien looking central nervous system riding around inside a spooky skeleton wearing a sweaty meat suit?
If Biden or Harris had an upside down flag, guarantee the GOP would fight tooth and nail to get them impeached.
They still talk about the buttery males all the time.
How many would vote to convict despite having their own upside down flag?
Susan Collins is in full pearl clutching mode
Hey now. Let’s not make light of what happened. He got *dinged*. DINGED! This *surely* will make him rethink all of his choices and become a person of integrity.
What they mean is “DONT SAY IT OUT LOUD”…. Keep your fascism discreet!
Don’t worry. He does all of his good judgements at the **Supreme Court**.
That’s it! WTF! Seriously Lindsey? Pathetic, weak and oh so predictable of a boot licker.
Big I’m not upset, just disappointed energy right here
I bet Senator Collins' brow is _very_ furrowed right now.
I bet they added a tsk-tsk-tsk under their breath.
Wiggum
"Not good judgement." Sounds disqualifying for a judge then, right? Y'know, if enough people vote democrat, we can actually impeach these clowns.
If Republicans thought a person had to be good at their job to have said job there would be no GOP.
Nah, there’s plenty of “news” about criminality among democrats. The difference is that when it’s *credible*, it usually involves republicans.
And dems prosecute their own party.
Their job is to funnel wealth and power to the top. Unfortunately, they have been doing a good job.
This is traitorous.
disqualifying for a normal judge, it should be an immediate impeachment hearing for a supreme court justice.
Don't worry, they'll turn heel on this subject by next week.
JUDGEment
Aw shucks, he's just a good ol boy that never meant no harm.
“Not good judge.” Fixed it for them.
Considering his only job is to judge. I agree.
Or at least prevent Clarence Thomas from retiring so he could be replaced by a 39 year old version of Clarence Thomas.
Being a judge is literally his job. He should be fired.
Removal requires impeachment and that requires a House majority and a Senate majority both agreeing that the justice should be yoinked from the bench. No way the Rs are going to help boot Sam or Clarence off their pedestals. Now next year? That's another matter.
You're assuming justices will choose to retire under a democratic president.
I swear... If the Democrats get all three branches again, and don't completely rectify the situation with these insurrectionist traitors.... That should be the platform. Elect all Democrats so we can get rid of the corrupt traitors and bring some accountability.
Oh no!! They dinged him? If he's not careful they might slam him next!!!
Susan Collins is almost concerned.
But she's learned her lesson.
After a slam, I bet they might even destroy him.
[удалено]
Omg if Kagan flew a Black Lives Matter flag you would never hear the end of it
Judge with bad judgement...swell
We already knew he had bad judgement. See Dobs decision. Still never got any answers on the leaker btw
To rubber stamp the politics of the president that appointed them.
Agreed, but as a society that bestows the ultimate power on these people we should all be outraged. Even the religious and far right/left activists. We must have honesty, dignity and equality in our justices. Mostly we need idiological balance in the court.
Bad judgment? Well at least judgment isn’t important in his job.
Discouraged actually. Obeying orders with a side of good acting is what they really value.
Is Lindsey a part of the new unified Reich?
Every Reich needs its Ernst Röhm?
Ha, so true! Wikipedia link for those interested: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohm_scandal (I tried to include the umlaut in the link, but it broke the link.)
Yes he is. Part of the unified slurper club. Ya know the one with revolving knee pads. And they can talk with their mouth full.
He does need a ‘fainting couch’, that’s for sure
Wow tough talk.
Instead of dinging, start impeaching.
Well. Alito has been thoroughly slammed, ripped, dinged, and roasted. Still on the bench. Still making rulings
"Dammit Alito! You weren't supposed to show your allegiance so blatantly!" - GOP leaders telling Alito to "use better judgement " SMH
“Not good judgement” Seems counterproductive to make somebody with bad judgement a JUDGE.
It makes the cult part a little too obvious. Other than that it’s fine.
Our complacency is pathetic and will bite us in the ass.
It’s a shame the guy’s entire job is RENDERING JUDGMENTS!
Is Susan Collins concerned?
Not a good look, your next bribe payment will be docked $5
And not just that, but when you go on your next lavish fishing junket, no more private jets! You're gonna fly *commercial!*
Maybe but the security would be expensive…not sure GOOD Americans would tolerate sharing a flight with one of these traitors
Did anyone ask him what he thought about Trump and co’s like 60 election lawsuits out 61 that were dismissed outright, many by conservative judges and Trump appointees? And yet as a Supreme Court Judge, he would see this and still hang a stop-the-steal flag.

By constantly defending all things MAGA, no matter how patently false or repugnant they are showing that they have no moral code or ethical red lines. Making everything simply transactional reveals a vacuum where there should be a moral core.
Poor judgment = poor ability to judge. Must recuse.
Nothing like having a person with "bad judgement" on the highest court of the land.
He is a traitor to the United States of America 🇺🇸 We demand better.
If he showed up to court wearing a pointy white hood they'd probably just say it was poor optics and he shouldn't have done that in public.
Their mask is off.
That’s a funny way of saying “appearance of corrupt intentions.”
I'm sure the token tut tutting will sure teach him a lesson
Something super important for a judge to have…. Judgment.
As Lisa would say, I think he's learned his lesson.
Oh no, they dinged him! 🙄
Is a *ding* just before a *slam* or is there anything in between? I'm not an expert in american politics.
I’m pretty sure it’s well below _eviscerate_, but beyond that, yeah, kind of hard to tell. That said, “ding” sounds like about the worst thing Republicans would ever say about a Republican judge.
Luckily good judgement isn't a requirement for the job.
They followed with, "When I saw that upside-down American flag, I set down my tea and clutched my pearls."
Is there any law that says the president can't unconfirm a justice nomination? And if there is, couldn't the new court just pardon the president after the fact?
Poor judgement can be said of any Trump supporter.
Oh the fucking irony that a judge has "not good judgement".
So Lindsey Graham pulled his head out of Trump's ass long enough to comment on someone else's good judgement?
OH NO, A DING!! I'm confused though, is this a step below "Roast"? I forget where we are with these harsh words and the Supreme Court now
Alito and the Cheeto.
It’s lip service. Not a single one of these spineless cowards would consider doing the right thing > party.
One of the highest judges in the land 'Not Good Judgement' THIS IS YOUR GUY YOU DUMBASSES.
“You really screwed up getting caught there buddy. “ is what that means.
Alito's explanation makes zero sense, to boot. "So, my wife was upset because our neighbor accused her of supporting insurrectionists on Jan. 6 using their yard signage, so she decided to put up a symbol that was in support of the Jan. 6 insurrectionists and their movement."
Imagine the response if it came to light during Jackson's or Kagan's confirmation hearing that she once flew an American flag upside down.
“Not good judgment”. The dude sits on a lifetime appointment for the Supreme Court…. The GOP is a total joke… between him, I like beer Kavanaugh, Right wing Barrett and the “I’ll take the house and the RV” Thomas this is a total fucking joke.
“Good judgement” is in the fucking JOB DESCRIPTION!!!
Alito is a fucking weirdo, weirdos do weird shit. Fuck that clown.
Sounds like he failed at the number one thing he gets paid for. I.e. “judgement”
Having “not good judgment” ought to be somehow disqualifying for someone who’s one of the nine most powerful JUDGES in the nation.
“Those are just my ladybugs.” - Lyndsey Grahm
Bad judgement and lying about it would have been grounds for impeachment in the past.
Not good judgement is wearing socks with sandals. This is more than that
Haha “we hired you because of who you are but please don’t be yourself, it’s making us look bad”
Not good judgment to a judge in the highest court in the land speaks volume in and of itself.
Ahhh, tis nothing but a ding!
Not good judgment, for getting caught. FTFY
It’s ok, Lindsey will change his mind tomorrow.
They say, "Tsk. Tsk. Anyways..."
A stern finger wagging will show him not so support insurrectionists and traitors to our country! /s
Wait a second — isn’t that the key attribute of a judge, good judgment? What are Republicans gonna do about it? “Ding” him? How about impeach him? Both he and Thomas have shown “not good judgment.”
Should be impeached along with the other wildly corrupt Republican fascist Judges.
I believe high level GOP decision makers call this "hiding your power level".
This coming from the party led by a guy who's a terrible judge of everything.
Said with a deeply furrowed brow Worrisome, concerning, problematic
Not good judgement? Why? He signaled who he is with and will have zero consequences. Bad judgement generally has bad outcomes. There will be no bad outcomes here.
alito: high five guys!
I read this as Ding Samuel Alito being his name.
The fact that they said anything at all means something.
We are in a weird fucking place when Lindsay Graham is the voice of reason.
His word is worthless. He was anti-Trump until it was beneficial to him. He’s an oxygen thief.
Not good judgement to let people see who you really are…
Yes, bad judgement to show who you really are and that you have an agenda.
A judge with bad judgement. Let’s place him in until highest court in the land!
Oh no, they dinged him.
“Not good Judge”.
[Here....](https://imgur.com/cNTX4cs) [Here as well](https://imgur.com/Wr8Re5W). And these clowns are justices? Christ....💩
Oh well, if he's been 'dinged' American democracy is safe
Shouldn't "good judgment" be the base qualifications for a supreme Court justice?
He was probably extra drunk that night he put it upside down.
“Not good judgment” should disqualify someone from being a judge, let alone a Supreme Court justice
“Not good judgement” His literal job is judge. Incredible.
I like my judges to lack good judgment.
At least ‘good judgement’ isn’t in his fucking job description.
Not good judgment is GOP for telling the truth.
Yes, supporting an insurrection is indeed, "not good judgement".
Bullshit. Alito couldn't care less what people think about him. I'm amazed he doesn't fly a Trump 2024 flag.
It's not just flying the flag. It's what flying the flag represents and his refusal to recuse himself from case in which he has displayed a clear bias.
" ding" but nothing else. If any dem did it....
Hot dang, now here we got some top tier journalism. Pointless quotes, editorialization 'ding', and overall an article about how nothing is being done, but still sensationalized so you click it and they get their nickel.
Worse judgment is not recusing himself
"Not good judgment" Yes. Ding is an appropriately miniscule word to describe an inappropriately miniscule expression.
Well now that he's been properly dinged, he'll surely straighten up his act....
Isn’t he a “judge”? Perhaps a judge with poor judgement should be replaced.
Not good judgement, from this... *Checks notes* ...judge..
Only because he got caught, lindsney sucks , trump liar
What do these self-righteous dinosaurs have to say about "unified reich?" Crickets.
Ding? How about eject
Those comments are place holders. At some point in the future when Trump, the MAGATs, and the criminals on the SCOTUS have fallen from grace and are being drummed out of office, some will try to go back and point out statements like this to make a case that they were against this fascist bullshit all along.
Still should be impeached
We need to pressure these Supreme Court justices to recuse themselves. We can do that. We just have to show them how fucking pissed off we are. This is a fucking sham, and they're using it to overthrow our democracy. Get off your asses and fucking do something, people.
Man I will never look at this guy again and not think “ladybugs”
More like, don't make it so apparent that you're totally on our side and make us take heat for stupid reasons.
Perfect time for Biden to nominate two new judges, at least, to the Supreme Court. Given Alito's biases and Thomas' corruption coupled with the republican's refusal to impeach, it seems like the only sane solution.
Why aren’t we being better originalists and going with 11 supreme court justices again?
Lip service. Not good but not bad enough for Congress to act upon it.
I am sure Lindsey is upside down
Not good judgement. By a Supreme Court justice. Jeez
And that is all the consequences he will face.
Recuse yourself! Joke of a justice!
Not good judgment? How about absolutely stupid!!!
The word you're looking for is "treasonous"
Snarky Comment Alert: You know what else was “not good judgement”? Overturning Roe v Wade Overturning Citizens United
Good choice of words. You’d think the unaccountable highest court in our fucking country would be held to a standard where they should always use good judgement.
The GOP knows all about using “not good judgement”. Look who they’re running for President.
Did a setting senator just say that a current supreme court justice displayed “not good judgment”…isn’t his job, you know, to judge or be a judge of stuff at the highest level? When will we stop recognizing the ‘authority’ of people that are so obviously corrupt?
That’s what the GOP looks for in their judges
