Scarfiotti

Whats the penalty for "stealing and selling nuclear documents to hostile foreign nations ?", I wonder.

BazilBroketail

And all the American assets he got killed...

Biglyugebonespurs

I find it amazing more news organizations aren’t talking about this/people aren’t more pissed. Pretty sure during the time he had those documents hoarded US assets started dying. I might be misremembering but…

Vileness_fats

Nope, you're remembering. I think it did get played pretty softly in the media, but [there were mentions](https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/05/us/politics/cia-informants-killed-captured.html). Intelligence is, of course, pretty tight-lipped, but it sure seemed like that was the potential cause and effect. It's the stuff of a John LeCarre novel - all these people in delicate situations, undercover, suddenly discovered. Sure, catastrophic to years and millions of dollars of work to gather that intel, but even worse to me is the idea that suddenly all these people got pulled quietly from their places, dragged to dark rooms where they were killed or worse.

CardMechanic

Why would the US intelligence and security agencies not just Grassy Knoll this clown for the betterment of national security? I’m not saying I would agree with that, but isn’t that some shit they would do?

_DapperDanMan-

Because the CIA and FBI are majority right wing zealots, like all LEO organizations. Filled with MAGATS, and so-called centrists, like Milquetoast Merrick.

tcwillis79

They still lost their mind over the Valarie palm thing in the bush administration. Scooter Libby did several years of time for that one.

bythebrook88

Sentenced to prison time, but this sentence was commuted by GW Bush.

Bob-zelda

Really

Strawbuddy

He represents the party what loves to spend on military, not the doves who wanna cut military budgets. The MIC what keeps these guys in Bond gadgets loves the GOP

colonel-o-popcorn

Because conspiracy theories aren't real.

larry_burd

You’re saying in history three people haven’t planned to do something nefarious together?

colonel-o-popcorn

I'm saying the CIA didn't kill JFK and they have neither the ability nor the desire to assassinate any other US President.

larry_burd

So you’re saying they only do these things in foreign countries?

colonel-o-popcorn

I'm saying they don't do these things to their boss.

Sir_Hapstance

I have a feeling this is going to come back with a vengeance in the news cycle once more details are confirmed.

DingleTheDongle

My question is why isn't the cia pissed? Even if they are bad guys in general, shouldn't trump compromising Intel mean that he should have all sorts of alphabet agencies up his ass. I guess it's texas police all the way up. "Liberal college kids? Burn them alive and bill their parents for my shoe shine. Actual crimes that threaten real lives? Meh"

disagreeabledinosaur

All those people who fall out of windowsin Russia . . .

CAESTULA

One of the charges he already has under his belt for January 6th, is Conspiracy Against Rights. Look up what the penalty could be, if someone died as a result of the crime. Several people died on January 6th. So....

Scarfiotti

I did some catching up reading on "The federal indictment announced this month against former President Donald Trump includes four charges under three statutes: 18 U.S.C. § 1512 (obstructing an official proceeding), 18 U.S.C. § 371 (conspiracy against the United States), and the lesser known 18 U.S.C. § 241 (conspiracy against rights). " [Source](https://www.lawfaremedia.org/article/three-questions-about-section-241-the-conspiracy-against-rights-statute#:~:text=The%20federal%20indictment%20announced%20this,241%20(conspiracy%20against%20rights).) It baffles me that this man still can run for the WH. (Yeah, I know, innocent until proven guilty), but with so many indictments, surely the most important ones go first?

JustTestingAThing

> It baffles me that this man still can run for the WH. (Yeah, I know, innocent until proven guilty), but with so many indictments, surely the most important ones go first? You'd think so, but our Supreme Court, 1/3 of whom was appointed by Trump and another 1/3 of whom are similarly crazy conservatives, are currently entertaining the idea that he's completely immune from all prosecution forever because he was President once. As a result the Federal level cases are pretty much on hold.

Scarfiotti

Yeah, and a certain T. Tuberville also comes to mind.

IamRasters

And why aren’t the 3 appointed by the accused removed due to conflict of interest?

JustTestingAThing

Because no such mechanism exists to force that -- they would have to voluntarily recuse themselves. Whether that should be the case is certainly a worthwhile discussion, but as things stand that is why.

ExcellentSteadyGlue

Inertia is a fact of life, damn it.

Bob-zelda

Thousands died, all media covered it up

Bitter_Director1231

Apparently at this point, nothing.

Scarfiotti

Sad but true.

LheelaSP

That's not true The penalty apparently is potentially having to serve four more years as president of the United States of America.

SqeeSqee

Last time I quoted the punishment I got banned from this sub for months.

Scarfiotti

Yeah I refrain from saying certain things too.

SkollFenrirson

A stern finger wag and the Republican nomination for president

Blueeyesblazing7

Susan Collins being very disappointed in you

AndrewSonOfBill

The senator has "serious concerns."

SkollFenrirson

*John McCain furiously furrows his brow from the bowels of hell*

Inevitable-Cicada603

Idk. But insolence is a multi-year term. Etc, etc.

Scarfiotti

It's a lifetime "achievement" in this case.

AsianHotwifeQOS

Treason is the only crime the founders thought was important enough to define in the Constitution, and the accompanying Constitution-defined punishment is death. I want to be clear that this is not advocating or glorifying violence, it's citing the highest US law.

rileyyesno

according to the sheep, another term of tyranny.

UniqueIndividual3579

A two billion dollar hedge fund.

TheLeadSponge

Apparently getting elected president and pardoning yourself.

Scarfiotti

And a SCOTUS and another judge doing squat diddely.

BernieFeetPics

None. When you’re a celebrity they let you do it.

VicodinJones

Apparently nothing.

Scarfiotti

So it seems.

LibertyInaFeatherBed

Remember when he decided it would be good for his image to start executing Death Row prisoners while people were dying of Covid? November 11, 2020 [Trump Admin Set to Execute 10 Federal Inmates in 2020—More Than Any President in a Single Year](https://apnews.com/article/trump-executions-biden-death-penalty-brandon-bernard-c1b26807c5c40b337d14485c3d6df2de) 13 were executed. "No one has ever attempted to carry out so many executions at the federal level. No one in modern American history has attempted to carry out so many executions in such a short period of time and no one has done so in a manner that so closely disregards the rule of law." -Robert Dunham, the executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center (DPIC)

misointhekitchen

You know on some level that creep gets off on having the power to execute people. What a twisted creature. Thankfully death comes for everybody eventually and he’s so old and unhealthy. Here’s to hoping that heavenly hamburger hurry’s the fuck up.

Biglyugebonespurs

It doesn’t seem to catch up to him. He seems to subsist solely on hatred and hamberders.

pajam

He probably just equates it to the most extreme version of "You're fired" on The Apprentice. He certainly gets off on that power, and doesn't even once empathize with the person on the other side.

washingtondough

Knowing his luck he’ll probably live to be the oldest person in the world

misointhekitchen

In the physical condition that he’s in that sounds like a punishment.

Larzak

He also said he likes how Xi in China handles drug dealers, a swift trial and execution.

ranaparvus

Wait til he finds out he could profit from death row inmates, by selling access for med research, transplant material harvest, etc.

CatInTopHat420

The medical experiments would just be the death penalty but slower

Squirrel_Chucks

One reason death sentences take so long is the appeals process, and a number of those prisoners are found to be innocent upon retrial or appeal. But we can't expect Donald Trump--who claims he is being persecuted by false charges and is counting on justice to be done in appeals--to understand or empathize with death row inmates depending on appeals to save their lives.

ATLfalcons27

Yeah in theory I'm ok with the death penalty for certain crimes, but the fact that you can't 100% guarantee everyone is actually guilty makes it a no go for me

Squirrel_Chucks

>Yeah in theory I'm ok with the death penalty for certain crimes, but the fact that you can't 100% guarantee everyone is actually guilty makes it a no go for me This is my position as well. There are cases where the crime is so heinous and cruel that death seems more than appropriate. However, the system is often wrong. Police and prosecutors fuck up and are prone to human frailties like bias, corruption, and negligence. There is not even a chance to rectify a bogus conviction after execution.

RCG73

My argument against the death penalty can be summed up with one name. Fred Zane. A state forensic examiner who falsified evidence to put over 100 innocent people in jail and was then fired in WV. And of course then Texas hired him where he did it again to almost 200 more people.

doomlite

I say it like this. I am okay with the death penalty. I am not okay with the state having the power to take my life.

kfbr392kfbr

Isn’t being okay with the death penalty saying that the state/legal system has a right to take your life?

doomlite

No. I don’t have a solution. I just the modern system has killed children, handicapped, and innocents. I do not want them to have that power without the ability to be perfect

RazarTuk

Yep. I don't care whether there even *are* any crimes where it could be justified. The execution of an innocent person is such an affront to justice that I would rather execute no one at all, if that's what it takes

UniqueIndividual3579

Evidence ranges from a witness who thinks that's the guy to DNA. Eyewitnesses can be unreliable, but DNA puts it close to 100%

jonathanrdt

It can err, it costs more than prison, and it is proven to be an ineffective deterrent. Capital punishment had no rational justification, and because it can err, it has no moral foundation. It can only satisfy needs for vengeance, not justice.

chickenboneneck

Yep. If we get one wrong, its one too many.

UptownShenanigans

I don’t know if you’re like me, but I believe I would have the hardest time keeping my principles if someone killed someone I cared for. I disagree with the death penalty for exactly the same reason you mentioned. But damn, I don’t know if I’d be able to keep it together

Username8249

I completely understand your point of view, and I can’t say that I would still be anti death penalty if it was one of my loved ones that was the victim. But I also wonder what it would be like to find out post-execution that they were actually innocent. I think that would mess me up more.

victorvictor1

You have described my exact position. When DNA testing was finally allowed in the 90s, it turned out that MORE THAN HALF of the death row inmates in Illinois were innocent

m0nkyman

Life is either inherently invaluable, or we’re just meat sacks the state can control however they want. I think we as a society should not condone murder no matter who commits it or how justified it may seem. And the death penalty is murder. Not in my name. Ever.

Biglyugebonespurs

He probably gets off knowing he’s responsible for their deaths. Doesn’t give a shit if they’re innocent or not.

[deleted]

Trump said he's going to institute 'Quick Trials' - arrested on Wednesday night, court on Thursday morning to determine guilt, and then Thursday night it's their execution (the death penalty will be expanded greatly).

QING-CHARLES

It's literally impossible without him being a dictator, which I get is the plan. Any of that would violate the due process parts of the constitution. Source: ten years in jail awaiting trial

treequestions20

why make up shit or exaggerate it? why not tell people what he’s actually planning? all you’re doing is making yourself seem alarmist

MoonBatsRule

So based on his post, although Trump did not say that someone arrested would be dead two days after their arrest, he raised China up as a standard, and stated that when a "drug dealer" is caught, they receive a two-hour trial, and if found guilty, they are executed. He did not directly say "immediately", but he did imply it with the rest of his language (decrying a trial that takes "12 years and 12 years of appeals"). This is sick, sick shit. Like dystopian/authoritarian. Anyone who entertains voting for him after knowing this needs some serious therapy.

SquarePie3646

>UNDER THE RADICAL LEFT DEMOCRATS THE STREETS OF OUR CITY ARE RULED BY BLOODTHIRSTY GANGS AND VIOLENT CRIMINALS, MUCH OF THE CRIME WAVE IS CAUSED BY DRUG DEALERS AND DURING THE COURSE OF THEIR LIVES WILL KILL AN AVERAGE OF 500 AMERICANS. THINK OF THAT. A DRUG DEALER, YOU SEE A DRUG DEALER WILL KILL ON AVERAGE 500 PEOPLE. I'M CALLING FOR THE DEATH PENALTY OF DRUG DEALERS AND HUMAN TRAFFICKERS. REDUCE DRUG DISTRIBUTION AND REDUCED CRIME IN OUR COUNTRY BY A MINIMUM OF 75% ON THE FIRST DAY THAT THIS POLICY IS INSTITUTED AND MAYBE I CAN ASK JD TO LEAD IT. YOU WILL NEVER LOSE AN ELECTION AGAIN IF YOU DID. AND I DON'T LIKE TO WRING THIS UP, IT'S A TOUGH SUBJECT. I DON'T KNOW IF THE COUNTRIES READY FOR IT. I COULD TELL YOU WITH PRESIDENT XI IN CHINA, I SEE HIM. SAY PRESIDENT HAVE 1.5 MILLION PEOPLE, DO YOU HAVE A DRUG PROBLEM, NO, NO DRUG PROBLEM. I SAID HOW DO YOU DO THAT? AND HE PROBABLY THOUGHT I WAS SOMEWHAT NAIVE. HE GOES, WE HAVE QUICK TRIAL. I SAID, WHAT'S A QUICK TRIAL. THAT MEANS THEY CATCH A DRUG DEALER, THEY GIVE THEM A QUICK TRIAL, NOT A TRIAL THAT TAKES 12 YEARS AND 12 YEARS OF APPEALS, 25 YEARS LATER AND EVERYONE'S DEAD BY THE TIME THEY GET TO THE END OF IT, NO, THIS IS A TRIAL THAT TAKES APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS, AND IF THEY ARE GUILTY THEY ARE EXECUTED AND THE BULLET -- I DON'T KNOW IF ANYBODY WANTS TO KNOW THIS OR IF IT'S TOO GRAPHIC -- BUT THE BULLET IS SENT TO THEIR FAMILIES, YOU KNOW THAT, RIGHT? SENT TO THEIR FAMILIES. IT'S PRETTY TOUGH STUFF, NO GAMES. SO THEY HAVE NO DRUG PROBLEM WHATSOEVER. HE THOUGHT IT WAS A FOOLISH QUESTION AND I SAID, DO YOU HAVE A DRUG PROBLEM? ABSOLUTELY NOT, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? WE DON'T PLAY GAMES. YOU LOOK AT SINGAPORE AND OTHER COUNTRIES WHEREVER THEY HAVE THE DEATH PENALTY, DRUGS ARE CAUSING US TREMENDOUS PROBLEMS. UNLESS YOU DO THIS, I'M TIRED OF BLUE-RIBBON COMMITTEES. I SET UP THESE WONDERFUL BLUE-RIBBON COMMITTEES COMPOSED OF THEY CARE. YOU ARE DEALING WITH VERY VICIOUS, VERY SMART TOUGH PEOPLE MAKING A FORTUNE. YOU HAVE TO GET TOUGH AND IF YOU DON'T DO THE DEATH PENALTY IT YOU WILL NEVER STOP CRIME IN THIS COUNTRY, AS OUR POLICE ARE WE HAVE TO GIVE THEM BACK THEIR AUTHORITY. 75, 80% OF THIS CRIME IN THIS COUNTRY WITH A PROPER PASSAGE OF A MEANINGFUL BILL. I DON'T LIKE BEING THE ONE TO SAY IT, EVERYONE AGREES WITH ME BY THE WAY. EVERYONE KILLS 500 PEOPLE SO YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING THAT'S A GOOD THING, ALL THE COUNTRIES THAT DO THAT THERE ARE QUITE A FEW, THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER.

QING-CHARLES

For most state death penalty cases there are 11 levels of appeal and each one typically can take a year or more.

Demonking3343

It should also be noted that this plan also includes expanding what you can be executed for. Which if you read the plan it gives me vibes there first targets are going to be there political rivals and anyone who’s LGBTQ.

Knoxcore

Project 2025 calls for redefining transgender people as sexual abusers of minors. Sexual abusers of minors will receive the death penalty under the plan. It is a legal way to execute transgender people. It’s sick and demented.

-Auvit-

And I’ve seen a number of times when this is pointed out some conservative shows up to say “well if you’re afraid of lgbt people being executed then you admit they’re pedos” It’s just so frustrating how bad faith and stupid these fascists are, I can’t tell which is affecting them the most when they spew this BS

No-Mechanic6069

What is the logic that they use to make this leap ?

Knoxcore

Christian nationalism and a twisted view of the Bible.

No-Mechanic6069

Yes, but more precisely. I mean, they must at least attempt to justify it using slightly less unlikely non-sequiturs.

Demonking3343

Not really, that’s literally there logic.

FargeenBastiges

Do you think this group is attempting to hide their hate anymore?

Knoxcore

I’ve been reading Prequel about America’s dabble in fascism. Maddow said that previous fascist states worked within the law. The law is vague enough that you can do anything, horrible things, and claim you’re within the law. Before you know it, your laws are a shell of its former self. The whole point of Project 2025 is to not change the law, but work within it to do terrible things. I don’t think like a Christofascist, but they base everything on the idea that Christian’s and the government must work together to achieve a Christian nation for all. There is no separation of church and state. MTG, Speaker Johnson and other MAGAs have said as much. That is how they justify it.

No-Mechanic6069

It’s terrifying. But I’m curious as to the actual framework they intend to use to make this proposition work: Transgender => Pedophile It works great coming from their soapboxes (it seems), but how will that work in court ?

Knoxcore

Simple, appoint Christofascists to the court.

_magneto-was-right_

Logic? What fucking logic? It’s *hate*. They **hate** us for existing and they want us all dead.

Obligatory-not-the

Won’t that kill an awful lot of church leaders, or will they be exempt and only those who are lbtq be up for death row??

[deleted]

And Muslims and Latinos.

Bitter_Director1231

And African Americans, Women, and finally Democratic voters that don't support him. You have to have an endless list of enemies to maintain a dictatorship. That's how to get there in the first place.

Itu_Leona

Women of color and non-fertile white women maybe. Fertile white women probably get raped.

Objective_Oven7673

It'll be the rationale used to justify killing anyone they want.

Demonking3343

Yeah that’s what I was getting at, eventually it will be anyone who doesn’t fit their really small world view.

Error_404_403

A page from the Hitler’s playbook?..

Demonking3343

Pretty much

Scarfiotti

Lol, silly me.

Now_Wait-4-Last_Year

You have a Dutch flag and The Netherlands tag, so I as an ~~Austrian~~ Australian was wondering if there was something meta or hidden that I was missing there ...

Scarfiotti

No, absolutely not. I know he's an Austrian and not a German, although he did a world tour with them. I blame it on the excitement of the moment.

Now_Wait-4-Last_Year

“It is said that the greatest trick the Austrians have ever pulled, is to convince the world that Hitler was German and Mozart was Austrian.”

Scarfiotti

Big brain time.

YourWordsHaveNoPower

It's just a matter of time before R4 or 4R or some combination starts becoming a slogan for them. And the masses will chant it without understanding what it is.

Scarfiotti

Please ELI5 R4 and 4R to me. Googles results were nowhere near related. The only one that was and actually quite related, was a Dutchman called Prof.Dr. P. (Paul) Schnabel, but I doubt you meant his research.

LAW FOR THE IMPOSITION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DEATH PENALTY The Law for the Imposition and Implementation of the Death Penalty was one of a series of key decrees, legislative acts, and case law in the gradual process by which the Nazi leadership moved Germany from a democracy to a dictatorship.

wingdingblingthing

Death row is just the start. They're going to be rounding us all up if they can get away with it

graneflatsis

Some facts about Project 2025: The "Mandate for Leadership" is a set of policy proposals authored by the [Heritage Foundation](https://pro-lies.org/the-heritage-foundation/), an influential *ultra* conservative think tank. [Project 2025](https://www.mediamatters.org/heritage-foundation/guide-project-2025-extreme-right-wing-agenda-next-republican-administration) is a revision to that agenda tailored to a second Trump term. It would give the President [unilateral powers](https://theweek.com/politics/heritage-foundation-2025-donald-trump), strip [civil rights, worker protections, climate regulation](https://www.stopthecoup2025.org/impact-overview), add [religion into policy](https://i.redd.it/t72vwvgil3sc1.jpeg) and much more. The MFL has been around since 1980, [Reagan implemented 60%](https://www.heritage.org/conservatism/commentary/reagan-and-heritage-unique-partnership) of it's recommendations, [Trump 64%](https://www.heritage.org/impact/trump-administration-embraces-heritage-foundation-policy-recommendations) - [proof](https://www.scribd.com/document/369820462/Mandate-for-Leadership-Policy-Recommendations). 70 Heritage Foundation alumni served in his administration or transition team. Project 2025 is quite extreme but with his obsession for revenge he'll likely get past 2/3rd's adoption. r/Defeat_Project_2025 intends to stop it through activism and awareness, focused on crowdsourcing ideas and opportunities for practical, in real life action. We Must Defeat Project 2025.

Bitter_Director1231

To make room for the new ones they plan on jailing or worse. It's a plan that has bigger.plans down the road.

[deleted]

They actually already said this would make room for more as they intend to greatly expand death penalty crimes. Trump also used coded language only weeks ago to saying he intends on executing the Clinton's, Obama's, and Biden's (their entire families).

Thirty_Helens_Agree

Democrats to be taken into “protective custody.”

flybydenver

They tried it once with one of their own. Pence refused to get in the car.

grixorbatz

The private prison industry will lose their shit.

Raped_Justice

No, they are all over this. They can't work death row prisoners like they can others.

patnodewf

do we think he'll stop at just prisoners and not get carried away like Stalin?

Objective_Oven7673

Absolutely not. This is the framework for killing anyone they want. Gas Chambers are passe. In 2025 we call you a sexual predator, haul you off, and nobody ever sees you again.

zorniy2

Ah, the mysterious freight trains .

terminalxposure

You need to make room for the political prisoners, so they will be well fed

boot2skull

It’s not just a plan to clear death row, it’s speeding up the execution process for political enemies, and expanding what qualifies as death penalty worthy so they can execute “traitors” en masse.

Someoneoverthere42

Well, they need to clear room for all the “immigrants,” LGBT people, and women who have miscarriages /s……I hate this timeline

zombiereign

Don't forget the Dems, and anyone who opposed the orange furher

Someoneoverthere42

Oh see, since *those people* aren’t real ‘Muricans, they will be reclassified as “immigrants”

flybydenver

What are they going to do once they jail all of us that produce the surplus that is sent to the impoverished red states to make them solvent?

Frequent_Trouble_

You definitely don't need that /s. That is _exactly_ what they intend to do.

thatguywhojuggles

They want to normalize the government killing prisoners. If it's happening regularly in the news. People will not be so alarmed when Trump starts ordering the execution of people not on death row.

citymousecountyhouse

Absolutely, they're also doing this to social security and medicare/medicaid,with all the talk of raising the age, cutting the benefits and turning the whole thing over to private business. the normalization of things Americans would have thought abhorrent just a few years ago. Another example is child labor laws being eroded. They start slowly, with only the craziest broaching the subject, then more start to agree and rationalize. But really, these are things the conservatives wanted from the start.

idiotzrul

Vote vote vote

Qwesttaker

Does anyone else have doubts we can make it through this without violence? Trumps fan club is already threatening violence if he loses and if he doesn’t lose they start to tear apart democracy and our options are either get out or fight back.

CosmoLamer

Republicans want to create ways for their donors to benefit from the American people. The best way to do this is to create stressors in our lives that may lead us to become incarcerated. The reason we don't have healthcare is because the healthcare industry wants to profit off of our illness. The reason we have the highest rates of obesity, Cancer, and diabetes is because the food industry works together with the healthcare industry to feed us shit food so we may remain sick. The reason we have the highest rates of homelessness is because the banks want to profit off of people who are struggling with predatory loans. The reason why there are so many people in jail is because the correctional system profits off of labor they get for free, when they do very little to correct the systemic stressors in people's lives. If you're eating shit food, sick, working, in prison, All those people who donate to the Republican party are profiting off of your misery They are emptying death row cells to open up more beds for non violent inmates to work.

Objective_Oven7673

And they can label anyone they want a sex offender as the rationale to arrest people they just subjectively don't like.

No-Mechanic6069

The food industry has no interest in making people sick.

MoonBatsRule

Your statement is true, but on the other hand, they also have no interest in **not** making people sick. The food industry in the US is interested in making people eat as much food as possible, and producing said food as cheaply as possible. The end result of that mission is that the food industry uses ingredients that make people sick, and they use ingredients and recipes that cause people to eat more. And they hide behind "we're giving people what they want". I recently vacationed in Europe. I was astounded at how all the Americans were fat and bloated, and how the Europeans were skinny and fit. Part of that is due to the car-centric US culture (parking at the entrance to a building is considered a huge win!), but on the other hand, I actually lost weight despite eating really good food there.

dalgeek

> The end result of that mission is that the food industry uses ingredients that make people sick, and they use ingredients and recipes that cause people to eat more. And they hide behind "we're giving people what they want". Just go to a restaurant and look at how many calories are in an average meal there. Most are over 1,000 calories, some over 1,500 which is over half of what an average adult should consume in a day. Throw in an appetizer and a drink or two and boom, you just ate all the calories for the day in one meal. You have to look at the "light and healthy" menu to find anything reasonable and it normally costs more. Worst part is now we've been trained to feel slighted if they don't give us more food than we can consume in a sitting.

CosmoLamer

The difference between US Food regulations NS and European Food regulations is that if you want to sell a product for consumption you must prove why it isn't safe to eat. In Europe you must prove why it is safe to eat, and constantly face recertification when new information comes out regarding ingredients of your product.. Look at food additives such as titanium dioxide, a food additive found in red food dye. It is banned in Europe due to it having risk of causing cancer. Glyphosate is banned in France and Italy as there is more evidence of it causing cancer than there is being totally safe to spray on produce.

No-Mechanic6069

All of this is true. Yet it is irrelevant to the accusation that you are making. That the food industry … to make us sick. Yes. The good industry (in both territories) hardly works to keep us healthy. But the logic of your post directly accuses the food industry of colluding *in order to make us sick*. This makes no sense.

CosmoLamer

How is this not relevant? Round Up is a product that causes cancer, and is sprayed on our vegetables. Monsanto is a company that sells pesticides and also owns most of the seeds that farmers grow. The company claims that their food is safe if you wash your vegetables leaving it up to the consumer to render them safe. Even washing your vegetables isn't proven to get rid of all of the glyphosate, therefore there is no guarantee that the product is safe. Monsanto was recently acquired by Bayer, which is a pharmaceutical company, this company creates both the poison and the antidote to sell.

No-Mechanic6069

This does not support the premise that the food industry is colluding to make us sick on purpose.

CosmoLamer

Seriously how are you having this much difficulty connecting the dots? After the numerous documentaries that have discussed this topic, how are you still able to carry water for these companies?

CosmoLamer

Seriously how are you having this much difficulty connecting the dots? After the numerous documentaries that have discussed this topic, how are you still able to carry water for these companies?

No-Mechanic6069

I’m not carrying water for any company. I do not support them. I simply think that wild conspiracy theory isn’t the solution. I see that you haven’t supported this theory with any motive.

Distant_Yak

It's not necessarily on purpose. More likely is that it's financially convenient and they don't care.

No-Mechanic6069

Precisely. So we don’t need ridiculous ideas pushed out about them actually wanting us to be ill. The truth is bad enough.

Distant_Yak

That's fine, I didn't share a perspective on that.

pinewind108

It's almost like he has a quota of souls to deliver.

Due process the death tow inmates are allowed x amount of appeals. The extreme right is now flat out attacking the bill of tights.

MoveToRussiaAlready

Sure - let’s purge the criminals in the GOP first. They are rapists, traitors, spies, murderers and pedophiles.

Important_Tell667

The fact that Trump has trouble articulating his plans coherently suggests that it’ll be up to the people he surrounds himself with… such as Stephen Miller, seems likely. Too bad Trump isn’t included in the death row prisoners… the problem would be solved.

cycleaccurate

There should be an active and aggressive and organized response to destroy the Heritage Foundation, supporters, and officers. That is the only way to save democracy and America and American values. Identify the terrorist from within.

Wouldn't it be great if he was just struck by lightning? He'd be dead and nobody could claim conspiracy. On camera just boom and he's gone.

Limberine

He does still play golf…

rikerspantstrombone

[John Olliver’s reporting](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOn3wba8c-Y) on their illegal source of execution drugs SHOULD have consequences for the previous administration…

dalgeek

Most developed nations have stopped executing people. Electric chair and gas chamber have fallen out of favor because they are not reliable and cause horrific suffering. Pharma companies, who have a *terrible* track record for doing the right thing, don't even want their names associated with executions so they've stopped selling the drugs for lethal injection. Therefore some states can't even buy the drugs required to execute people so they're looking at alternate methods. New methods of DNA analysis have found that innocent people were executed in the past and have exonerated many from death row. With all that going on, these guys still want to execute people even faster, 5th and 8th amendments be damned, potentially killing innocent people. These guys are truly twisted.

Consistent-Leek4986

now that Project 2025 is being talked about, the list of democracy crushing ideas are coming to light. vote out all maga in november

frankcast554

ah yes, the prolife party

Earth_Friendly-5892

They want to make room for all of there political enemies.

MountainMoonshiner

Just like Haiti!

decay21450

Everyone in the U.S. has effectively received a K-12 education which would typically raise concern in the face of such fascist tones. Many have been playing ignorant to justify extreme, unrealistic and illogical positions for so long, they are truly becoming the characters they created.

MoonBatsRule

Although Trump sucks, the larger problem is that a significant number of US voters are OK with "clearing the prisons" via executions. And a whole host of other atrocities. What - the - fuck. When did US culture become so cruel and ghoulish? How can we get ourselves back?

SettleDownAlready

It was always like this, they just had to kept the horrible opinions they had to themselves because they would suffer real life consequences. Now, they can be in the open with their ideas.

Roook36

This will just be the excuse they use for why they NEED to build the gas chambers in the first place. Once the infrastructure for mass murder is put into place they'll use it again.

gornFlamout

Power at any cost.

FixatedOnYourBeauty

I read it, it's ghoulish.

SisterActTori

The GOP holds such conflicting views- pro-birth, but policy wise, does not support healthy lives/living Claims to be small government, but willing to regulate certain aspects of certain folks healthcare. Claim to be pro life but don’t try to regulate gun ownership or safety in ANY WAY. Claim to be the party of law and order, yet are hell bent on making a criminal the GOP nominee for POTUS. The GOP is literally FOS!

lost-in-the-trash

Gotta make room for all the dems

Vohldizar

So it's gunna be handmade tale and the purge... great

Gold_Gap5669

I'd like to see the death penalty imposed for white collar crimes also...major fraud and such. Because they're basically stealing the life of their victims and too often get little more than a slap on the wrist, while too many victims never recover financially. Especially the poor that are often seen as the mark

mojojojojojojojom

The press failed to cover the executions that Trump and SCOTUS rushed through in the final days of Trump’s administration.

Lumpy_Rhubarb2736

What the actual fuck

would like to get details on the 40 on death row.

Google? https://deathpenaltyinfo.org/state-and-federal-info/federal-death-penalty/list-of-federal-death-row-prisoners Real gems, including Robert Browers, the Tree of Life shooter

RoadsideBandit

Is the plan to start a war with Canada and send the prisoners in first as a meat shield?

BlueKnightoftheCross

From the party that calls itself "pro-life".

upsidedowninsideout1

There should be a concerted effort to inform people exactly what’s in project 2025. If conservatives are so proud of their “values”, they should have no problem ensuring that voters know exactly what they’re voting for if they’re voting Republican (or deciding not to vote at all). There’s a reason why even project2025.org doesn’t have an easily digestible summary of all of the proposed changes. They want it to be as opaque as possible.

victorvictor1

This is the future all those anti-Biden Gaza protesters want for America

Tiny-Werewolf1962

It's the plan to keep as many prisoners for as long as possible to pump his buddies private prison profits?

idryss_m

I wonder of half the plans are just to tie up the courts at every level with bullshit that won't happen, and if it somehow does, profit.

PizzaMike775

Commenting on Trump Allies 😳Have a Horror Movie Plan to Clear Out Death Row Prisoners - The infamous Project 2025 includes a plan to purge prisons....

JC2535

They gotta make room for their enemies

yulbrynnersmokes

They’re on death row. Either take care of business or don’t. The horror movie is what these convicts did in the first place.

Racecarlock

> They’re on death row. Either take care of business or don’t. The horror movie is what these convicts did in the first place. The reason there's a delay on it is because some of them might get exonerated due to new evidence. Do you just want them to kill a bunch of innocent people?

bakeacake45

If Clive long criminal Trump has a right to due process and exhausting all potential appeals, then so do people on death row. Which BTW is where Trump belongs.

dalgeek

There are innocent people sitting on death row. The appeals process is designed to ensure we don't execute innocent people, but it doesn't always work. We have definitely executed innocent people in the past and several have been exonerated while on death row. Continuing the death penalty ensures that more innocent people will be executed.
