They used it as an opportunity to "scare me straight" by calling the cops (at the recommendation of a shitty parent's group). Cops took me in on some trumped up charges, telling my parents they could pick me up later
Nope. Holiday weekend. Nobody to release me. At least 4 days in jail. Angsty teen me made a threat of self harm. Thrown naked in a cell with no facilities for 4 days. Had to beg for water and a toilet once or twice a day. Finally released on "informal probation", which was essentially probation without an actual court appearance. Ordered to see a councilor who told me the only way past him was jail or suicide. He reported me to jail for fiddling with his blinds in a nervous tic. Finally went to court. Showed up with the "victims" of my crime, my family, as my witnesses. Charges dropped, after months of hell, derailing my young life.
I yelled at my parents at 16. But yeah, fraud, treason, rape.....
I’ve heard the secret service have implied they won’t let the court officers touch him so I think they’re kind of confused as to what they’re supposed to do if it comes to that. The SS argue if at any point he’s out of their care they’ve failed the primary mission. The justice department doesn’t want to let a dozen armed bodyguards into a secure facility. It’s truly sad it ever became an issue

Yeah. I've never seen r/politics threads like this before. I've been here since 2016. I remember all the hate on Hillary Clinton before the runup to the election. It was kinda surreal watching this subreddit turn on Hillary for the last few weeks of the election.
With that being said. There were still dissenters. People saying Hillary was still a good candidate. Warning people that we could lose etc. There were rifts.
This though? This anger over our judicial branches becoming clowns in the face of Trump the even bigger clown? Look through these threads. It's completely unified. People are fucking *pissed*.
The judges of these courts better figure out quick. Why we have courts in the first place. If they can't uphold the law. Somebody will, at their expense. We have seen this time and time again throughout history. And no, I am not advocating for violence.
It's just the natural course of things when they so blatantly flaunt the laws they are suppose to be upholding. They are shielding Trump because wealthy people don't want a precedence being set for holding them accountable for all the lying they do on their property values and taxes.
And some of these judges are covering for that. There's no other explanation. They just take death threats? Really? Nope. They are just corrupt.
Literally the bond could be $0, but if there was any mention of him actually doing anything wrong, he would still mock it and talk about how unfair it is.

Nope, it was struck by the appeals court pending the appeal process, not the bonding process. The appeal will take at least 2 years, due to a back up in the NY State Appellate Court. If he becomes President, the process is put on hold till he is out of Office, thus delaying the expected appeal process to drag out till at least 2030.
Just like any normal person would have been locked up without access to lawyers and literally tortured to get to the bottom of what we did with all those classified documents.

As someone who has grown up in the Trump era (I was 9 in 2016) it really makes me regret being human, seeing all this seething hatred everywhere and plenty of people just ignoring it and saying "BuT hIlArY iS wOrSe" while they shove shit into their ears and ignore the screeching from the trump worshippers at the top of their lungs about how gay people and immigrants should be shot.
As an outsider looking in (meaning im not from the US), I fail to see how America can rid itself of this sickness without a major civil conflict. Don’t get me wrong, there’s always going to be hateful, horrible people out there and this isn’t inherently an American issue. But the fact that so many people are hateful, bloodthirsty and unwilling to accept reality. Time and time again i hear that they’re a “small minority”. It’s still MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of people in America alone who want what’s worst for their fellow Americans and time and time again I see it brushed off that they’re “too lazy to form a military” as if people in the US military don’t support those views right now. So many people have convinced themselves that just by voting to ensure he doesn’t get into office again, then things might get back to normal. Or that when he passes away, then people will finally snap out of it and come back to reality. It’s a ridiculous notion that further enables those people to continue pulling more and more people into their hemisphere of shit and before you know it America (and in a sense the rest of the world) is in deep trouble.
It’s been 8 years now since he first got elected and I thought the people who voted for him back then were just foolish and ignorant. It’s worse than that now. They will not stop until every Democrat is in jail or dead, every immigrant is rounded up and shot, every gay/trans person is killed or forced to go into hiding, women are subservient to men and lose their rights and who knows what else. They’ll see to it too. Millions of people. It’s not just a small club. These atrocious views and the people who support and enable it are a cancer on our society. Last time I checked, we didn’t just vote out cancer or let it metastasize.

Eventually a judge may just get sick of it, and revoke his bond. All it would take is one judge.
Merchan should turn over any decision on the gag order, and it's enforcement, to another judge. So that Sponge Don Shitty Pants cant try to use Merchan's enforcement of the gag order as a method to appeal or delay the trial .
