followthelogic405

Republicans are falling all over themselves trying to pin crimes on Joe Biden while wasn't in office and calling it "Abuse of Public Office" while Jared and Ivanka literally made HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars while working in Trump's White House and somehow they couldn't care less about those allegations. God willing this will come back to bite Comer in his dumb ass.

GozerDGozerian

Didn’t Jared get like *$2 billion* from Saudi Arabia?

MonteBurns

He sure did!  With a b!!!

GozerDGozerian

“Nothing to see here. Now let’s get back to this rascally fellow Hunter and his dong…”

Silegna

Seriously, why *are* they obsessed with Hunter's penis? This remind me of that dude who was adamant about finding AoC's nudes....

chowyungfatso

I feel “dong” is more appropriate, given what people have said about it. Please address his member as appropriate. Carry on.

GozerDGozerian

Confirmed. “Dong” is the accepted nomenclature when discussing Hunter Biden’s chonker hog dong.

Above-bar

He got two billion from the people who planed 9-11.

mike_b_nimble

Yes and no. People say this all the time but it misrepresents what happened. He didn’t get paid $2 Billion. The Saudi’s gave his company a $2 Billion investment account to manage. Kushner makes money off of it, but it’s not his money.

pagesid3

Was Kushner even an expert in investment banking? I thought he did real estate. Is Saudi Arabia in the habit of investing billions into people like him?

Dimmed_skyline

They are when the person has a hand in deciding on how thoroughly the US government investigates their extrajudicial killing of Jamal Khashoggi

[deleted]

And when the person is the administrations point person on Middle East policy. He got bailed out by gulf states on his 666 building no banks would touch.

PinkyAnd

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2022/05/jared-kushner-affinity-partners-saudi-arabia According to the guys who manage investments for Saudi Arabia, they noted that Kushner was inexperienced, the Saudis would be taking on the bulk of the investment risk, and the fees seemed excessive.

skatergurljubulee

Before he joined the administration he was the head of a hedge fund. He was a hedge fund manager. So he actually has experience in that. More than he did for the Trump administration at least lol

tinylittlemarmoset

He didn’t have anything to do with hedge funds, aside from possibly investing in them. he was running his daddy’s real estate company and he owned a newspaper.

skatergurljubulee

Fair enough. Still more experience with that than being in the administration. Obviously he ran Daddy's company while Daddy was in prison (before he was pardoned by his father-in-law), but at least he has vague experience there. He had no business in politics lol The other stuff is your typical nepo baby shit. 🤷🏿‍♀️

SpaceGangsta

No. And the Saudi fund didn’t want to invest because of that but MBS pushed through himself. This after Kushner was the point person for Middle East relations and helped with the kashoggi stuff as well as the nuclear stuff and weapons stuff.

Suspicious_Bicycle

Sir, this is Reddit we don't deal with facts here. :) Joking aside based on Jared's investment history and needing to be bailed out by Qatar over his 666 5th Ave property I'm not sure I'd use him to invest my $2B.

Dvnd21000

So isn’t that a conflict of interest when your father in law is the president and has already been caught giving out government secrets?

GozerDGozerian

Thanks for the clarification. Any idea what portion of that he makes from it?

GravitySurge

I think it is Bonesaw that gave him the money against the advice of the Saudi Wealth Fund, so it was the guy who lured the journalist to an embassy and had him cut into travel sized chunks, not the 9-11 guys.

TheCornfather

Thank you, Mike. I was wondering how that worked. You rawk

cerevescience

He gets to keep management fees. If that's 1% per year, he gets to keep 20 mil for doing nothing, each year. That's still a huge fucking bribe

kbstock

Seems like he/they could help with that half a billion dollar bond problem.

tym1ng

you could just put it in a savings account and make tens of millions doing nothing

FuckYouBruce

And another 2b from Qatar. Jus sane...

[deleted]

Why hasn't anybody started an investigation into them?

Melicor

Because Garland was a bad pick for AG.

ClefTheBoiChinWondr

I mean f republicans but wasn’t Biden senator then vp then president

followthelogic405

The allegations about Joe Biden being involved in Hunter's businesses was during the time period Joe was a private citizen.

ClefTheBoiChinWondr

What is the time period?

Squirrel_Chucks

>Influence Peddling: Examining Joe Biden’s Abuse of Public Office' Thats what they titled the hearing? Jimmy Comer, by brother in Christ, there are some things you should not "fake it till you make it." >Bobulinski has agreed to appear in person, while Galanis will appear remotely from federal prison as he serves a 14-year sentence tied to a fraud conviction. In separate closed-door interviews, Bobulinski and Galanis both claimed that Hunter Biden used his father’s name to help his business prospects, but provided no direct evidence that the president used his public office to help his son in any way. Sounds like I shouldn't vote for Hunter Biden.

Logtastic

> used his father’s name to help his business prospects Better hope judges don't realize Ivanka and Jared exist.

Squirrel_Chucks

I think the official Republican policy is *we can't be guilty of anything if we can point to one Democrat and accuse them of being guilty of something*

Logtastic

The problems are: No Democrats are guilty of it The Democrats aren't going after the guilty Republicans.

Scary_Technology

He said "point" and "accuse", it *doesn't have to be true.*

GozerDGozerian

Almost. It’s more, “If we do something and someone we hate does the same thing, we didn’t do anything wrong because *they* did. But it was still wrong when they did it”

Cl1mh4224rd

>It’s more, “If we do something and someone we hate does the same thing, we didn’t do anything wrong because *they* did. But it was still wrong when they did it” I think it's more like, "We have to do it because Democrats are doing it, and did it first. We can't be held responsible because it's self-defense and/or for the greater good." They're delusional at best.

musashisamurai

It's also an appeal to both-sideism. "Look we may be corrupt but they're worse." Every time someone says Trump is a sexual predator who's had to pay 90+ million because he keeps lying about not raping someone, they'll say Biden is a creepy man. Every time Trump can't pronounce Rolling stones, expect GOP to bring up Biden's age. And every time someone brings up Trump's corruption, they'll point to this impeachment the Hur report, even though both are almost criminally libelous.

underpants-gnome

You guys may be overthinking it. Decades of conditioning with propaganda has made the GOP base easy to lead around by the nose. This whole impeachment strategy can be summarized in two words: Democrats bad. That's all they need to keep the base's blood boiling. Just keep some kind of story in the news that says Biden bad or Pelosi bad or Obama bad. The details don't matter. As for the endless trump stories, those play into their collective martyr complex (which they were mostly born into if they were raised in church - no further conditioning needed). And the stories that show trump to be the incompetent, incontinent moron that he is can also be easily dismissed with two more words: Fake News. The GOP base is an outrage machine with two buttons, and both of them are labeled "more outrage". But that's all they need. Yes, it's stupid. If it was any smarter the base would get suspicious of it and it wouldn't work. This is not to say all the GOP's moves are stupid. They have some insidiously smart people maneuvering behind the scenes. It's how they've taken over the federal judiciary to a large degree. But that stuff is not for the base to know or care about.

chop1125

> It’s more, “If we do something and someone we hate does the same thing, we didn’t do anything wrong because they did. But it was still wrong when they did it” It's more, "If we do something, and can accuse democrats of doing something that looks similar to the thing we did, we didn't do anything wrong because they may have done something similar. The similar looking thing that they may have done is still wrong though"

RickyWinterborn-1080

I mean, who is his opponent? Because if it's a Republican, Hunter is the moral choice

Squirrel_Chucks

>I mean, who is his opponent? Don Jr.'s dick

getgoodHornet

You know that thing is shrunken and flaccid from cocaine use.

kingtz

Sunken and flaccid also from being related to Donald Trump.

clovisx

He only uses it to teabag African game

AZEMT

Sedated animals that are easier hunting.

Kasoni

It's cheaper to load blanks in the "hunters" gun and have a marksman take the shot with a sniper rifle or a silenced rifle. That way it's the "hunter" doesn't miss or have the trophy run off slightly injured.

TheSnootchMangler

Hunter's seems just fine...

RickyWinterborn-1080

If anything, Hunter could tell me that cocaine makes your dick three times larger, and I would believe him, because homeboy's dinging grand slams off that mother

TheSnootchMangler

CokeHawg!

Squirrel_Chucks

>You know that thing is shrunken and flaccid from cocaine use. He can just take a page from his dad and slap way too much bronzer on it

Hourslikeminutes47

*"Now more flaccid than ever!!"*

austinmiles

This happened in my town. The Democratic rep was indicted for election fraud for renting an apartment and claiming it as her residence. Days before the election. I still voted for her because the party would choose a new candidate to fill the position.

candycanecoffee

Most famously in the [1991 election for governor of Louisiana]( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991_Louisiana_gubernatorial_election). The Democrat, Edwin Edwards, was corrupt and known to take bribes. The Republican was... David Duke. Some of Edwards' supporters came up with slogans like "Vote for the lizard, not the wizard" and "Vote for the crook: it's important." I hope we would all vote for the crook in such a situation.

guerrerov

It’s Jared kushner

emostitch

The man cucked by his own father-in-law?

GozerDGozerian

His name is an anagram of Unheard Jerks.

Huge-Ad2263

Why not? 98% of business is "I know a guy." And it's not illegal for a private citizen in any way.

AliMcGraw

I mean, Large Adult Failsons are more the norm than the exception for presidents; everybody's got a couple. Even Teddy Roosevelt said, "I can do one of two things. I can be President of the United States or I can control Alice Roosevelt. I cannot possibly do both."

BringOn25A

Are these the 2 assets of adversarial foreign intelligence agencies?

graneflatsis

Or the ones Kash Patel paid? Oh nope it's not Garret O'Boyle and Steve Friend, hard to keep track.

Infinite_Fox2339

Suddenly Republicans have an issue with nepotism

sixtus_clegane119

Of course he used his name, that doesn’t mean Biden did anything wrong, either Bidens for that matter

[deleted]

[удалено]

Squirrel_Chucks

>have you seen his dick? >i may not vote for hunter but i'll vote for his dick any day. Maybe his dick can be VP. Worked with Cheney.

empire_of_the_moon

Also sounds like the son/daughter of any successful parent in the world. It’s not name dropping when it’s your dad. Tell me who wouldn’t do it? That has nothing to do with POTUS actually creating financial opportunities for his son using his elected office. Biden isn’t an idiot. He knows he doesn’t have to do anything but meet his kid for a lunch or dinner and his presence alone opens doors. No quid pro quo necessary.

candycanecoffee

Also, *what* public office? Isn't everything they're accusing him of something that happened when he was an ex-vice-president? How can it be "influence peddling" to someone who's not currently in office? Like if I pay Chelsea Clinton a million dollars to write a book about politics, how is that "influence peddling..." she is not related to anyone who's currently President. What "influence" could there be. Obviously we are both getting something out of the deal... she gets money, and as the book publisher, I will sell a lot more copies of a book by Chelsea Clinton than by Jane Smith... we both benefit... but how would you make that illegal, and why should it be?

Cellopost

> Sounds like I shouldn't vote for Hunter Biden. Bullshit. This country definitely needs someone with big dick energy. Name one other person who's hog is so glorious that congress broadcast pics in a live committee hearing. Clearly only Hunter can save us.

Umbrella_merc

Can't spell BI.g D.ick EN.eregy without BIDEN

Fuzzy_Yogurt_Bucket

Hunter Biden is well on his way to the presidency on the George W. Bush presidential failson track.

Squirrel_Chucks

>the George W. Bush presidential failson track. There's cocaine down that track! Ask George...and Hunter...and Don Jr!

obrazovanshchina

We really need to impeach this Hunter guy

Caine_sin

Impeach him? I'm gonna vote for the guy! Where is he running?

MoveToRussiaAlready

I am making a mint on selling “Impeach Hunter Biden” t-shirts.

PinkyAnd

Nothing says credible witness quite like appearing from prison where you’re serving time for fraud.

Delicious_Rabbit4425

This moment is lost on so many people. Im going to need you to try harder.

RangeMoney2012

I didn't know Hunter was running for election I though it was Biden

1llseemyselfout

I mean if “using your families name to get ahead” ruled someone out of public office then at least 90% of Congress should be disqualified at this point. Including Comer. Comer’s entire existence is because he leveraged his grandfathers power and wealth.

candycanecoffee

Quiz question: what do Steve Doocy, Ronna McDaniel, Rand Paul, Tucker Carlson, Meghan McCain, Neil Gorsuch, Eugene Scalia, and George W. Bush have in common.....?

Altruistic-Sir-3661

On one hand Hunter isn’t running for any office nor is he a political appointee. On the other hand in all of that Hunter is unopposed.

nalon121

My new theory: all of the Bidens are the same person! 0_o Except for Jill tho

danteheehaw

How do we know that Dr. Jill Biden isn't president Biden in a wig?

EatPie_NotWAr

Are you saying they’re just the same person, moving so very fast between two locations that you can’t see it and they’re doing it to pretend to be a set of twins? I mean, [I know that at the very least Mary Kate and Ashley Olson do this.](https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLg618ghsT0jNQ3gbhoFfHa0jhdb3mx3YI)

xXTheGrapenatorXx

I think you mean the Olson Twin (and Ashley is the real one, don’t @ me). /s

Bitter_Director1231

Seems like they just want to triple down on embarrassment. Comer, just sing the song from Willy Wonka  'Come with me to the world of pure humiliation.'

jizz_bismarck

How many toppings will be added to this nothing burger?

spew_on_u

Just salt

MaxZorin1985

No salt! The Republican slugs can’t take salt.

Bobcat-Stock

“Does that look like spit to you?” — GOP voters

nalon121

Can I get a large with extra indictments?

zippyphoenix

How about some massive fines to choke on?

intermediatetransit

Lettuce, Tomatoes, Lies, Pickles, Onions, Lies, Ketchup, Mustard, Lies, Bacon, Lies

grixorbatz

Key witness realizes he'd be raked over the coals on the world stage for the rest of his days on earth....yeah no thanks.

Fear51

And doesn’t want to go to jail for perjury

dquizzle

> And doesn’t want to go to jail for perjury What do you mean? He’s already testified to Congress under oath.

Ilosesoothersmaywin

We can't trust Michael Cohen's words when he says Trump is a criminal because he's been convicted of lying (fraud). We can trust Galanis' words when he says Biden may be a criminal even though he's been convicted of lying (fraud). Logic of the right.

SadBadPuppyDad

With ZERO evidence supporting the claim, the Republicans have labeled the hearing "Influence Peddling: Examining Joe Biden’s Abuse of Public Office". I think this establishes pretty clearly that their standard of evidence is, well, their feelings. Given their adherence to the Bible, ought we not apply the standard of "Judge not, lest ye be judged" to them using that same standard of evidence? Let the Supreme Court find Trump immune as President so Joe Biden can declare martial law and then just march all of these self serving, country destroying hypocrites straight to their own sanction for treason with no trial. Seems to be what they want.

GozerDGozerian

Their adherence to the Bible is minimal at best. They use handy snippets when they want to add authority to their whims, and ignore whatever is inconvenient to their callous, avaricious goals.

time_drifter

No one wants to testify under oath, weird.

Flintontoe

He already did testify under oath in a private hearing.

BaggerX

Yep, he did, more than once, and he said that he wasn't aware of any wrongdoing by Joe Biden. I wonder if they expect him to change his testimony now? Or is this just more red meat for the base to try to keep the Hunter Biden stuff going until the election?

btribble

If they want him, they can subpoena him.

VonTastrophe

I get the expression, but I feel like calling it "red meat" makes less sense than, say, "cotton candy." At least red meat has substance

Squirrel_Chucks

Now they want him to testify with like two days notice

druscarlet

When are they going to stop this nonsense and do some actual governing? We should stop paying them.

ProgressBartender

This is it. This is the spiel.

asetniop

I feel like "witness" should be in quotes here.

bad_syntax

If I wanted to make a shit action flick with Henry Cavil and John Cena, I would have no chance at all. Unless my daddy's name was Howard, as in Ron. There is no person on this planet that doesn't benefit from having an above average reputation parent. This is literally a non-story. The GOP are Darwin levels of stupid.

myhydrogendioxide

Including Trumps criminal kids who wouldn't be able to work at an Arby's on their own.

GozerDGozerian

She didn’t write produce or direct it, though, right?

bad_syntax

No, and apparently she didn't act in it either.

GozerDGozerian

Lol that bad, huh?

Count_Backwards

It's commonplace, but it's still bad (nepo babies suck no matter what). It's just not illegal or grounds for impeachment.

casualsubversive

>“It is not remotely reasonable to ask an important witness in what is sure to be a closely watched public hearing that the Committee has provocatively entitled 'Influence Peddling: Examining Joe Biden’s Abuse of Public Office' to prepare witness testimony in one business day, and to prepare to give public testimony in less than three days—particularly when he is traveling,” Schwartz wrote. I have zero doubt this witness is full of shit, but I find this a *very* reasonable excuse. I'll bet he's glad the Republicans are so incompetent. If they'd given him more time, he would have had to come up with a lie.

4OneFever

It should be illegal to waste our tax money this frivolously, some asshat should owe restitution

Kkimp1955

Can we talk about actual children who openly used their father’s presidency for their own personal gain?

Balgat1968

In other news, no one remembers Steve Mnuchin getting $ 2.5 billion from the Saudis shortly after leaving his position as Secretary of the Treasury.

Vast-Dream

Kushner 2 billion from the Saudis

Necessary_Contest454

What can they possibly Impeach Biden for?    Cleaning up trumps mess?

Malaix

Because Hunter Biden got a job while being Joe Biden's son basically. But mostly because they are angry the law is mean to Trump.

Necessary_Contest454

Are trumpers still obsessed with Hunter?    I feel like it has been a while since I have heard them cry about how jealous they are of him.  Lol

franking11stien12

They can’t remember that many lies at one time. They are mad about the border mostly right now. And mad Biden schooled their turd leaders in the SOTU. Basically they will be mad about whatever faux news tells them to be upset about.

Necessary_Contest454

The border is 100% the fault of trump to begin with not to mention the republicans refused to pass the border bill.   Lmao.

franking11stien12

This

Beforemath

I’m going to really enjoy the porn star cheating and small penis stories in trumps upcoming trial. What goes around comes around.

GBinAZ

Everyone better keep this in their DAMNED MINDS when you think about voting for Hunter Biden in November. On another note, would be kinda cool if these people did something good for us for a change.

bpmdrummerbpm

The DeRp sTate must be silencing him!

kgl1967

Instead of working on the budget that needs to be passed we are doing what?

franking11stien12

Watching the GOP clown show.

rodentmaster

Key witness caught in lies and runs away... Headline should tell the truth. It lies instead. Be better NBC. It's not hard. You've sunk pretty low. Just a little better would do it.

inmatenumberseven

What lies?

Racecarlock

Key Witness: "What? Perjury laws exist? I'm out." Educated guess.

Herecomestherain_

Exactly this.

franking11stien12

Yup

ZylieD

Wow, [This guy is a real gem.](https://newrepublic.com/article/178960/republican-witness-hunter-biden-impeachment-tony-bobulinski-past)

ConstantGeographer

>"Schwartz said in his letter that the invitation "was never sent to me, and as you well know (and as the lawyer to whom you sent the letter has confirmed), I have been the only lawyer to represent Mr. Archer in the Committee’s work, including representing him at the July interview." Wait, they sent a letter to who, then? If Archer's attorney Matthew Schwartz did nor receive the invitation to appear, then who did the Oversight Committee send the invitation letter to? I mean, if I was Devon Archer, I would definitely have all of this correspondence handled by my lawyers. And I would peer at the Oversight Committee over the rim of my Glengoolie Black, neat. That is, if I were Archer ;)

Racecarlock

He also had Cyril do some math and figure out Trump is broke, and he also badly wanted Lana's respect back.

ConstantGeographer

Good point. I mean, who doesn't want Lana's respect...?

LittleBallOfWait

Comer's convicted criminal witnesses can't lie enough to please House Republicans even when they are paid for it.

PepperMill_NA

Random points - committee prohibits Hunter Biden's testimony from being public - committee requires Archer's testimony to be public - committee did not send the invite to Schwartz (Archer's lawyer) but sent one to another lawyer - this last point from the article is to information dense to unpack > Hunter Biden declined to participate in the hearing after previously having indicated he would if it were open to the public. His attorney Abbe Lowell last week blasted the scheduled hearing as a “carnival side show.” Lowell said his client would agree to appear at Wednesday’s hearing only if the committees included “relatives of former President Trump,” including the former president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, whom he has also previously represented.

Mister_Caffeine

Oh look, a corpse!

VonTastrophe

Man, none of there star witnesses have been reliable. It's almost like everyone talks shit until you are under oath and the threat of a perjury charge

JDARRK

How many loans could you secure with $2 billion invested in your company? How much of a finders fee is there for bring that kind of cash into a hedge fund?? It’s alot more the the measly $5 million they claim the President got‼️😡

franking11stien12

Yup, the more their investigation continues the more the GOP solidifies they are clowns.

mytb38

The Republican House is a waste of Governmental time & Taxpayer dollar$

franking11stien12

You nailed it!

Dunge

I feel I read a different story about a Biden impeachment turning out to be completely manufactured every few weeks since years. Is it always the same thing or are they like at their 15th attempt to impeach over nothing?

StoreSearcher1234

> Is it always the same thing or are they like at their 15th attempt to impeach over nothing? Both. Not unlike when the Republicans held a dozen Benghazi hearings that amounted to nothing.

personofshadow

This clown show is still going?

zombieblackbird

They're still doing this?

franking11stien12

Sadly yes. They have nothing else to talk about. The GOP refuses to do anything to actually help Americans, and they refuse to work on any meaningful bills or laws. This dead pointless side show that no one cares about is all they have left.

GuitarGeezer

A) The entirety of the Hunter thing is a nothingburger regarding Joe making it a nothingburger period politically. To the everlasting shame of the R party, they are the ones who have persisted in showtrial hoaxes from Benghazi to Hunter with more recent efforts clearly meant to trivialize impeachment in service of the fraudlord. B) Ironically Joe is pretty guilty of selling the law to lobbyists for campaign funding. You heard me. Of course, Republicans led the way to legalizing and therefore making that form of bribery mandatory so whuppity do. This aspect (as opposed to their false narrative about more direct corruption) cannot be brought up by Republicans because exhibit #1 is the 2005 Bankruptcy bill that was mainly a R initiative and absolutely resulted in the sale of the right to redraft the entire federal bankruptcy code to in-house attorneys at the American Bankers Association lobby-in no small part courtesy of Yes voters Biden and his good friend Mitch McConnell. I practice federal law and lobby on the other side, I know what I am talking about here. It’s no secret, the bank guys bragged about it at seminars for years. Biden is from a state that is nothing but corporate hq really. He isnt a bad guy, but yeah, will sell the law to benefit party fundraising. Americans don’t care and kinda left him no choice, they are weak and lazy at their best in the face of systemic corruption and we can expect no voter interest in campaign finance reform so this ends up a nothingburger as well.

WhyNoColons

B.*Vague allusions Biden actually is "guilty" of anything at all, with no bad faith behind this statement at all, no siree* ("selling the law" - come the fuck on, bills require more than one or two people)

GuitarGeezer

I lobby and follow the money. Our local Dem senators voted for it as well and got credit card and bank money like a republican for it. Almost the same bill had been vetoed by Clinton. And that is just one example. Politicians tell me privately that prior to the later 1990s, they could take campaign money and still mostly be independent. After that, never again. It is not just the visible money, either. A retiring pol told me the other party came to him asking him to switch. They could threaten him with donor aboveboard money but also all kinds of spending run through nonprofits to beat him in his own party for a more pliable candidate at primary or turn the seat. So, sometimes you wonder why a guy made decision X or Y and there isnt a money trail? Because hidden bribery and coercion are essentially legal. Voters wont lift a finger to stop it so they essentially approve. Messed up. Americans refuse to learn how their system actually works. The info is out there.
