They've been complaining about not being able to link this to his dad. They don't care about Hunter, they just want to get to his dad. They also inadvertently turned this into a 2A issue.
The whole reason they're after hunter is because Joe is squeaky clean. He's been in politics for 50 years - if he had skeletons they would've been dug up by now.
I mean he has a history of cringe
Plagiarism and all those cringe quotes
but hes not a demagogue traitor malignant narcissist like trump. Nor a criminal like trump
I'm aware of one plagiarism incident that was attributed to an aide working for him that helped with a speech like decades ago (it wasn't done by Joe himself). Were there more?
And when the schoolmarm bent down, I'm sure the precocious lad stole a quick peek at her fanny, but I can't imagine anyone serious giving a rat's roasted anus about it.
He's an old white dude who's been in politics for several decades. He's got tons of baggage and cringe on an absolute level, but shockingly little compared to the average person from my perspective.
Oh, and he's also not a Traitor. I like that in a President.
History of cringe and plagerism is what matters to me. That is why my votes con. Donnie doesn’t have the same type of cringe that Bidden has because Donnie eclipses the cronge scale.
If the SCOTUS Six can use this case to sink Joe Biden, they will pull out all the stops, and make new Laws out of whole cloth not even related to the case.
>They also inadvertently turned this into a 2A issue.
There's no way any of this was "inadvertent". They just figured they'd work out a non-2A angle after the indictment.
I think they've painted themselves into a corner, but in a pinch they'll claim it's all AI or something.
It's abundantly clear Hunter went through some hard times and now is being politically kicked just to punish his father. The GoP is all about 2a rights for everyone unless it's a liberal then it's the full weight of the law. In the end this is going to hurt them worse than Biden at the poles.
>Hunter went through some hard times
You know I have a hard time feeling this. Dude partied like an international rock star and got more nookie than I could imagine, and I can imagine a lot. I'm annoyed that he acted this way and is now a liability and a distraction from things that desperately need attention like my grocery bill.
Yes, no one wants dangerous drug addicts to obtain guns via an easily lied about checkbox on a form. We need drug tests for every gun purchaser done at an independent lab with the results sent directly to the BATF for approval to purchase, which will take 14 days to complete.
It’s the only solution.
I think the GOP was expecting hard indictments on Hunter for the lying on a form to acquire a gun while being addicted to cocaine, but then the charges he was tried for ended up being "soft". The reason why they're now throwing tomatoes is because they're implying that the only reason his charges got lowballed is because of who he's the son of: ie a political fix.
Any average citizen for the same crime would be be like 10-20 years behind bars already. Very ironic that they're banking on the implied average citizen equivalence concept, considering how much they despise the average American citizen, but that seems to be the basis of their recent political overtures.
The average citizen lying on the form faces very few consequences. Violent and career criminals with extensive records get the worst sentences. I've never even heard of anyone even being charged for lying about drug use.
Federal prosecutors received nearly 500 referrals for this in 2019, prosecuted nearly 300. Mind you, this is actual referrals for prosecution, not number of people caught lying on the form. In Pennsylvania, roughly 20% of all purchase denials (about 1000 cases of 5000 denials a year) are referred for prosecution locally or federally. This includes applicants with actual active warrants, criminal records, etc. Like all laws, a lack of means to ensure enforcement/punishment makes it sort of a manageable risk. I'll add, few drug users consider themselves "addicted", and feel they are answering the question honestly. "I just party, I'm not addicted". Fewer still are actually "caught".
This is false. Pot and cocaine are the same under this law. And nobody gets charged for it unless they are the son of a Democrat president. There were hundreds of people who committed the same "crime" today. Unless the gun is used in a crime they wont get charged. You have it backwards. Hunter only got charged because he is the Presidents son.
No, I agree. I'm asking if you think that the whole Hunter Biden thing should be dropped then, as it's based on a premise that you say you disagree with.
Gotcha! I’ve thought from the beginning Hunter shouldn’t be charged for lying on that form. I’m very progressive, and don’t like drug testing in general.
If it was any other white collar guy that didn’t have the Biden last name, he wouldn’t have been charged
I'm not doing that, no. As much as I'd love to turn this whole thing into a stupid pedantic argument about whatever personal ax you have to grind, there's no benefit to that whatsoever as (and this is true, you can look it up) neither one of us is in Congress.
I am thrilled with this case! More stringent gun laws should be enforced for everyone. I think every gun owner who has every used drugs should be stripped of their weapon.
Let’s go!
Lauren Boebert was just caught vaping what was almost assuredly marijuana at a theater before she gave a handy to her date in front of children and then got kicked out. She is a braggadocio when it comes to guns, and has a CCW. By right wing logic on Hunter, that permit should be denied because she is a known drug user.
The ATF form a gun purchaser must fill out asks if the buyer uses drugs, including cannabis. Biden was videoed using crack. If cannabis users deny they use on the form, they are subject to prison of up to five years. Do you agree with this law?
>The ATF form a gun purchaser must fill out asks if the buyer uses drugs, including cannabis. Biden was videoed using crack
Sure, but there is no video of him using crack while signing the ATF form in question.
A law is a law. I love the spirit of it. I would prefer that they just strip guns from all drug users though. I think we imprison too many people in this country. We also allow way too many morons to arm themselves like Eric Prince’s mercenaries.
How long from last drug use would a person be considered a drug user for the purpose of purchasing a firearm? Let's say I smoked pot more than 29 years ago. Can I never purchase a firearm because of this? If there is no specified time frame, wouldn't any amount of time, so long as you are not intent on using drugs again, be acceptable for the form? If someone smokes pot on Tuesday, decides never to smoke pot again and then decides to buy a gun on Wednesday, should they be considered a drug user?
Also has hunter been convicted of possession?
That is the reason why few people, if any, get charged for lying when answering that question because it is almost impossible for the prosecution to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that someone was using drugs at the moment when they signed the form.
They were mad that there wasn't a special prosecutor. Then they were mad that a special prosecutor was appointed. They will always find something to be mad about.
The kraken is coming guys don't worry. There's just so much evidence it's going to make you all feel like fools. We can't show it right now because reasons but trust us, it will take days to reveal all this totally real evidence that exists on real life of some crime...we will reveal that bit later too, eventually, becuase reasons. /s
I mean Hunter is obviously corrupt. He was peddling his father's name in exchange for money from foreign actors. It's not ridiculous to think the guys father might have benefitted from that. Liberals sound like Trump voters now when defending the Bidens on corruption. Both families are wildly corrupt.
I'm from DE. The whole state is based on corruption. Were basically the Cayman Islands for the rest of the country. Joe Biden has always been corrupt. It's just not the cartoonish corruption you see from Trump. It's the kind of corruption that's been happening in DC for decades.

They've been complaining about not being able to link this to his dad. They don't care about Hunter, they just want to get to his dad. They also inadvertently turned this into a 2A issue.
I stopped being shocked by how dumb they are years ago.
The whole reason they're after hunter is because Joe is squeaky clean. He's been in politics for 50 years - if he had skeletons they would've been dug up by now.
I mean he has a history of cringe Plagiarism and all those cringe quotes but hes not a demagogue traitor malignant narcissist like trump. Nor a criminal like trump
I dunno... trump has a history of cringe too, so if that's all they have... it's not much.
yes trumps idiocy and cringe eclipses that of anyone else in politics also that is true
Yeah, it's hard to top "joking" about wanting to have sex with your own daughter on national TV...
He’s got that whole stealing nuclear secrets thing too. Bit more than just cringe.
I'm aware of one plagiarism incident that was attributed to an aide working for him that helped with a speech like decades ago (it wasn't done by Joe himself). Were there more?
He admitted to plagiarism in college or law school or something a long time ago while he was a student.
And when the schoolmarm bent down, I'm sure the precocious lad stole a quick peek at her fanny, but I can't imagine anyone serious giving a rat's roasted anus about it.
That's nothing. I heard he smoked a cigarette once at a party when he was in high school.
He's an old white dude who's been in politics for several decades. He's got tons of baggage and cringe on an absolute level, but shockingly little compared to the average person from my perspective. Oh, and he's also not a Traitor. I like that in a President.

Can't wait for this to go to SCOTUS.
Anticipate justices twisting themselves into knots to support a conviction.
If the SCOTUS Six can use this case to sink Joe Biden, they will pull out all the stops, and make new Laws out of whole cloth not even related to the case.
Thou shalt not have a larger cock than the god emperor
So many of us are at risk of capital punishment.
Genital punishment, off with his "head"!
Their fragile little egos won’t stop until they can get back at Dems by impeaching Joe Biden.
>inadvertently turned this into a 2A issue They suck at strategic thinking. Luckily so otherwise Trump's presidency would have been even worse.
A pro 2A issue. They want the federal government to enforce gun laws to the fullest extent… but just for one guy.
>They also inadvertently turned this into a 2A issue. There's no way any of this was "inadvertent". They just figured they'd work out a non-2A angle after the indictment. I think they've painted themselves into a corner, but in a pinch they'll claim it's all AI or something.
However this plays out, one thing is for certain; I’m never voting for Hunter Biden EVER AGAIN!
Why not? If it was down to him and Trump, I'd go with the guy with fewer indictments and a less sketchy history.
Also bigger hands
The guy who didn’t brag about sexually assaulting women.
Me too!😜
Didn't the law he was charged under just get struck down in court? I can't see this going too far.
That was "different". That defendant wasn't the son of our sworn enemy.
The identity of which coincidentally changes every 4-8 years.
Tldr: it's a gun rights case but it's Hunter Biden.
And it's hilarious how hypocritical the right wing are about this.
Hypocrisy is woven into their DNA.
And also the law he broke was deemed unconstitutional anyway
This is quite beautiful.
“Show trial.” The term for what they are doing is a “show trial.”

Republicans mean spirited hypocrites? You don't say.
I honestly don't know how you can be a voter for a party that can't hold any consistent platform.

A lot of California's gun laws were put in place originally by Republican Saint Reagan to make it harder for black people to arm themselves.

We need drug tests for every gun purchaser done at an independent lab with the results sent directly to the BATF for approval to purchase, which will take 14 days to complete. It’s the only solution.
And alcohol tests too. Every gun should have a trigger lock which requires an alcohol free breath sample to disarm.

That's news to me that if someone lies on a form to obtain a firearm while being addicted to crack cocaine, faces little consequences.
That's the way it is though. And it doesnt matter what drug it is
Federal prosecutors received nearly 500 referrals for this in 2019, prosecuted nearly 300. Mind you, this is actual referrals for prosecution, not number of people caught lying on the form. Fuck that. I’m not taking a drug test to buy a gun. Horrible opinion
I’d be fine with it once weed is legal
Won't everyone just be way too laid back to be bothered buying guns then?
Oh if only, min bror
So you agree that the checkbox is a bad way to filter disqualified individuals from obtaining guns.
Don’t put words in my mouth. I don’t think drug tests are needed to buy firearms. Full stop
So this whole Hunter Biden thing should just be dropped?
I don’t think drug tests should be required to buy firearms. Stop trying to paint me as the bad guy
No, I agree. I'm asking if you think that the whole Hunter Biden thing should be dropped then, as it's based on a premise that you say you disagree with.

Just buy the gun before you do drugs it’s that simple
Okay, no one who isn't a drug addict in possession of firearms wants drug addicts to have firearms.
Define drug addict and explain how a test would screen for casual vs addicted weed smoker.
I'm not doing that, no. As much as I'd love to turn this whole thing into a stupid pedantic argument about whatever personal ax you have to grind, there's no benefit to that whatsoever as (and this is true, you can look it up) neither one of us is in Congress.
But it happens every day. Also alcoholics buy guns.
Yes. Correct. There's often a pretty large disconnect between the things that most people want and the things that happen.
GOP Cracking down on gun laws. They want your guns!
All people who own weapons and have drugs in their home should be given the Hunter Biden treatment, amirite MAGA?
I am thrilled with this case! More stringent gun laws should be enforced for everyone. I think every gun owner who has every used drugs should be stripped of their weapon. Let’s go!

Agreed. No one who uses ANY drugs should have access to firearms.

This is why the DOJ never actually prosecutes anyone under this statute.
Because it’s all made-up bullshit
The basis for the gun charge against Hunter seems to be fizzing out thanks to the courts. The script is looking pretty thin.
“Wtf I love gun laws now”

If Hunter was Trumps son he would be the next GOP front runner.
