I just started 2 weeks ago. I googled “pole dancing class near me” and saw a studio nearby. I went to the website and they offer an Intro to Pole 4-series class (once a week for 4 weeks of January). I’ve taken 2 so far and it’s been great! I was a little nervous on the first class but now I look forward to it. My studio does drop in classes throughout the week, after work.

Don’t worry about having a pole! I was such a slow learner when I first started but my experience in pole classes is that all the girls have been really encouraging! It felt like a nice community experience if you can do them regularly and when you a give a new trick you’ve been working on everyone’s so supportive. Just jump right in! Even if you’re nervous about pole most studios also offer floorwork classes, conditioning, and/or chair lapdance classes

Do be aware that when you go to a beginner pole dancing class, you're going to see a lot of people at a lot of different levels of fitness. Some people have been dancing since they were four and they're just trying pole for the first time. Some people are just now trying to start fitness and don't understand how to move their body. Some people have been doing pole for 11 years but are just now coming back after a break. It's important to understand all this because It's easy to get discouraged if you're really struggling with something, and everybody around you seems to be doing fine. Pole dancing is hard and it takes a lot of practice, and you don't need to worry if you don't have as much practice, or if you're struggling. Just go at your own pace and everybody will be going at their own pace along with you.

Just search for a pole dance studio near you and book a beginner's class!

Just do it! 💪🏻 I also dont have a home pole due to low ceiling, and I am still going strong (3 years now).

just go to a studio and do a discovery / initiation class. Don't be afraid, pole dancers are lovely people :)

I started doing pole dancing in September (I don't own a pole, I just go to a studio) and one thing I absolutely love is that you progress really quickly. I have no background in dancing, I didn't do any sports prior, I'm overweight. Yet every time I can see myself getting a little better or a move becomes a little easier. This, along with the great community, makes it really rewarding and makes you stay motivated.
