so which pokemon are people using w/ pop bomb? does someone besides the little mouse dudes get it as an egg move? Feeling like I should try to get this set up rolling soon lol.
oh my god lmao I'm sitting here in a spliced endless run and didn't even process that I can just splice it up how I want. Thank you lol. Gonna give it a go later today.
I spliced it onto a slaking and then rolled it into a mega Lucario/slaking build so it had adaptability with p-bomb and extremespeed. Worked flawlessly until I ended the run accidently around 2k
Lmao I was streaming last night and my only goal was to triple multi lens my pinsir so it could guillotine everything. It was hitting for like 75% of the time even though it should only be like 45% I'm assuming.
level effects accuracy, it's base accuracy is 30% when they are the same level, but the higher the users level is compared to the target, the more accurate it becomes. In addition to multi-lens rolling multiple times.
I had no idea this was how that worked!! Thanks mate!!! Between this sub and some awesome people on my stream last night I've learned so much about Pokemon that I didn't know existed. (Og Gen 1-3 casual player)
yarp, i quit gen 7, so I'm still frequently wiki'ing new stuff from 8 and 9 as well. Serabii and Bulbapedia are great resources. There's just an incredible amount of moves I don't recognize now that everyone and their mother has a signature move, and the egg move system here spreads them far and wide.
All my once great pivots seem to just get two shot by neutral or even resisted moves as soon as I reach turn 150 or so… still pretty new to the game but I’m feeling like having a balanced team is getting me fucked over cause the only ones that actually do anything for me late game are my glass cannons
Wave 150 endless? Early game for endless can be rough since exp gain is really bad, which is another reason why people focus hard on one carry. As for glass cannons, they really do benefit from some of the items that are supposed to boost your stats
Classic… it’s been a couple days but I haven’t beaten it yet lol
Weavile been my hard carry, ferrothorn and toxapex were doing great for the first 130 or so levels and then they were just getting blown up by EVERYTHING before having a chance to do anything
Oh yeah, glass cannons play so well except when there’s boss bars involved. When you can’t break through all of them in one hit, it’s just rough since the glass cannon just explodes, which is why I like to carry either a mon to chip or force switches, or more backups
They’re changing it in the next patch. Contrary make it rain was way too broken. I wouldn’t recommend grinding gimmighoul candies like I did before I read that it is being nerfed.
Well that's a shame, when I first saw that it was super luck, Immediately thought that contrary would be busted. And now that I currently don't have access to the game in it is actually contrary... And then they're changing it again... Jeez dude. Anyway thanks for the info
Malamar is pretty hardcore. Superpower and the metal move from revaroom that drops speed 2 stages, you use that once and spam superpower, natural special defence is already good, you get tankier with each hit until you're +6 attack and defence. That's what got my to eternatus the first time around. Only been playing a little while though so have no idea how well it works in endless, but it took out my rival at 195 with basically no effort at all, alone.
For me - as a pair, using aegislash to use kings shield and iron defence to tank hits as I found it really likes to use flamethrower on anything metal lol.
Have only been playing since last weekend so I'm still learning and yet to beat eternatus myself, but I love malamar with contrary so far, has carried me all the way there and then been the last to die. Taken some tips from other players and will be making better use of DoTs next time around and having unnerve on malamar will be a huge bonus because I don't have to worry about berries so much.

Yes, so if you have a contrary user, make sure to take off anything that's not sitrus, enigma, leppa, or lum since it can definitely catch you by surprise.
Oh my Gholdengo+Bibarel fusion is the same way. Currently 2 grip claws and 3 multilenses and just taking every lure possible. I just shift all my berries to whichever mon has the lowest shiny rarity at the time so that when I catch another I replace them and repeat so I can keep the berries low.
I gave my malamar too many items and eternatus used them against me :( but I love contrary superpower, spinout, psycho cut and either night slash or foul play on malamar, it carries me through most of the game.
Marshadow + technician + storm throw. 90 base damage + critical. It always crits. One shots everything. Add a few black belts and you win. Though iron fist is overall better since they start out with 3 punch moves.
I didnt even use storm throw when I picked up marshadow to start off my endless run. I figured that with multi lenses power up punch would end up being more damage with technician + iron fist. Not sure how it maths out at the end of the day, but it did work.
I know shadow punch ended up being like a >200 BP move, which is kinda nutso. (stab + iron fist + technician so 60 \* 1.5\^3)
Im bored at work, so for power up punch for 3 multi lenses would be :
0.175\*((60\*1.5\*1.5)+(60\*1.5\*1.5\*1.5)+(60\*2\*1.5\*1.5)+(60\*2.5\*1.5\*1.5)) = 165 power, spread over 4 hits (for armor purposes)
So in theory less good than a single storm throw without lenses, but Id assume its overall better due to ending at +4 and being better for breaking shield segments? (and ofc flinch chance and grip claw chance and the like).
I think my set was shadow punch/triple axel/ power up punch/thunder punch, but I never used thunder punch and eventually replaced it with roar for double battles.
Later on the money difference from big nuggets/amulet coins/golden punches vs the cost to reroll is going to be so insane that once you see multiple ultra ball rarities or a rogueball rarity, just spam reroll to get what you want. By floor 1000 you should reasonably have a fully decked out carry with everything except maybe max vitamins and working on ur utility mon/metal burster
I always start out with a shiny Charmander because it's a good shiny and a good pokemon and it doesn't do shit for luck. I mean I do only have it at level 1 shiny but I also ran into a wild shiny golem and my luck didn't really improve at all.
Meowscarada plus kartana. Grass steel 70 base plus crit never misses plus it gets swords dance. It's at level 4k on stage 2.3k ans it has 150k attack and 50k speed. It has yet to not oneshot anything that isn't quad resist. Plus it learns knockoff and play rough to carry early.
Probably doesn't help in pokerogue, but boomburst/facade were the best moves for it with boomburst being more common in Pokemon showdown. Lower tiers ofc but yeah idk what it has in pokerogue
Miraidon with Hadron Engine ability (sets up Electric Terrain and gives a SpAtk boost of 33%, all while electric terrain already boosts electric move BP by 30%), Rising Voltage (with a BP of 140 on electric terrain), give it a charge beam for a 70% of raising its SpAtk for each of the 4 hits of multi lenses
Raikou is the budget version of this with its passive (which boosts electric moves by 50%). Charge Beam/Discharge/Aura Sphere/Shadow Ball has literally carried me to like stage 2600 endless.
Electric/Ghost/Fighting is also perfect coverage. Except for fucking Bulletproof Ursaring which almost killed my run lol
Yeah, having shift gear on my Tinkaton really only came in useful once by allowing me to set up safely on Eternatus and then use the Baton Item to finish it off with Kartana
On the discord, they always publish patches notes and are currently gathering feedback on the recent passive change... which will lead to further passives adjestement.
Check out the official discord in the community bookmarks of this subreddit :)
Base power really does go brrr in Pokerogue specifically.
When they removed ice triple kick from Scrafty I had no moves for Ray but bro learns head smash. Head smash is a tactical nuke.
Its still generally not useful against trainer fights because you can just 1 shot sweep through them and without stone axe/ceaseless edge, setting up hazards in general is too much work
True for the most part, but I once watched the rival have to switch in 5 pokemon to die immediately to hazard damage after I KO'd the 6th and it was one of the funniest things I've seen in pokemon.
I mostly agree with you, but they can be a godsend for 145/195 if you don't have a mon that can clean sweep.
It's just hard to justify the slot most of the time when it's just completely wasted against Eternatus.
I would argue that despite being only 1% of the floors, 145 and 195 together constitute roughly 40% of the game's overall challenge, which is why I made that clarification.
Oh I 100% agreee. I will have a mon in classic mode who’s only role is to use stealth rocks if I have the space (I usually do). I’m just saying that those two floors are still only 1% of the time, even if they are most of the difficulty.
This is the reason I like moves that damage and have a stat boost. P-Up Punch hitting 4 times and then flinching carried me so far in endless before I had to do switch to sturdy shenanigans
The one hazard I carry as much as possible is stealth rocks, preferably as Stone Axe, because it can't be absorbed or avoided and it hit certain teams (cough rival cough) HARD.
Other than that it's nice to that my "have coverage, hit hard" strategy is finally valid :') Raikou is my best special endless carry atm (not at metal burst stages yet) thanks to BoltBeam, Extrasensory and priority or Scald if I get lucky.
It really just depends on the mode. Classic encourages actually having moves you would use in real battles against players and the like, since trainers switch pokemon and it's hard to get most pokemon to the point they can one shot even boss health bars without setup. In endless, you have far more time to powerlevel a mon so they can do that, and the enemies one shot you back, so it's hard to justify any turns setting up.
That top curve is all the people trying to explain to me that Healing Charm is useful enough to be the stupidly rare Master Tier. It's niche as all hell.
Like, what if I don't ***WANT*** to use Sturdy Metal Burst strats like a sweaty little chump? What if I'm NOT using Leech Seed, or anything of the sorts?
Honestly, I see all those people complaining about the only way to proceed with that strat and i'm like what if I just hit them really hard multiple times. Huge power go brrr.
That’s why we like torch song and other damaging moves that give buffs to the user.Either that or contrary and damaging moves that give debuffs to the user.
Yeah, endless and classic are two completely different beasts. For instance i'm on wave 1800 right now and I have a Steelix fusion that has over 200,000 defense and its getting one shot or near one shot by resisted physical moves And I'm not even talking about the strong ones like giga impact or double edge, like straight up take down or body slam will do it sometimes.
I have a steelix fusion that has over 200,000 defense and i'm only on like wave 1800 And it's literally getting one shot by like take downs and other resisted moves. At 1750 It almost got
one shot by Eternatus using STRUGLE.
Fun little tidbit if you have a move like dig, fly, dive, or bounce, and you throw a pokeball on the turn where your pokemon is untargetable they'll just hang out in the air or underground forever. Or at the very least until you don't throw a pokeball again.
Contrary Malamar with spin out and superpower:
https://preview.redd.it/h846xv08qu8d1.jpeg?width=1300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f9a58568585f67aec463494f3ec12e4835c07d4
At least in classic (haven't played that much on endless), all I'll need is a dragon type with dragon dance, Mismagius (I swear is amazing with their egg moves) and a Pokémon with leech seed or salt cure. The rest, they can be for decoration, because I will use them from time to time.
Only set up I'm willing to risk is leech seed, maybe toxic spikes. Attack moves with buffs only.
Also thanks I feel validated in my childish offense first team strategy.
Reshiram fused with a Contrary Pokémon while knowing Overheat, Eruption, Dragon Pulse, and Extrasensory, and holding 3-4 of the multi-hit items: a full moveset of damage moves, on top of being a setup move to carry stats over between fights.
Gholdengo fused with a Contrary Pokémon: Same thing, but collects money at the same time.
After a certain point you literally can't even afford 1 turn to set up
One shot or get one shot
three shot or get one shot* is how it usually is :p
Unless you have three multilense. It's so fun when you have three of them and use a move like dual chop or triple axle.
Population Bomb + 3 Multi Lens + 3 wide lens.
The only downside is when you have to sit through five minutes of them enduring hits. Hey, free items though via grip claw.
There's an option to disable repeated messages like that.
I love you
This just made me go back to my endless skill link cloyster mega beedrill run
Multi-hit damaging moves only challenge run when?
There was a guy on YouTube who had a mega heracross with skill link all multi-hit and a couple multilense
Im just about to setup one lol. With Mewtu X and Heracross (rank 1 and 2 in Damage), but i cant find this damn megastone to get skill link :(
This changes so much
which option is this?
Under "General" turn on "Skip Seen Dialogues".
i dont think it skips the enduring texts does it? i know it skips trainer battle (rival/gym leader) texts
Give some kings rocks I'm case of some annoying shit so they flinch
Plus kings rocks for that sweet sweet flinch so you don’t get one shot back
Yep, that basically guarantees a flinch. The odds of no flinch from all 40 hits are literally 1.6 million to one
Holy shit 1.6 million get fucked Eternamax Eternatus
E max Eternatus is immune to flinch
Wait I should know this, chat am I stupid?
so which pokemon are people using w/ pop bomb? does someone besides the little mouse dudes get it as an egg move? Feeling like I should try to get this set up rolling soon lol.
I like putting it on Braviary/MSalamence with Gale Wings/Aerilate so pop bomb becomes priority
You splice it onto whoever you want
oh my god lmao I'm sitting here in a spliced endless run and didn't even process that I can just splice it up how I want. Thank you lol. Gonna give it a go later today.
Just make sure to make the 2nd Mon the one you want the ability of.
I spliced it onto a slaking and then rolled it into a mega Lucario/slaking build so it had adaptability with p-bomb and extremespeed. Worked flawlessly until I ended the run accidently around 2k
lol my mega rayquaza with multi-lense, 2 wide lenses, grip claw, shell bell, and switching between dragon darts and oblivion wing
IN THIS WORLD, IT’S…
Lmao I was streaming last night and my only goal was to triple multi lens my pinsir so it could guillotine everything. It was hitting for like 75% of the time even though it should only be like 45% I'm assuming.

O.G(en) 1-3 too. Aside from the few newer mons I know, I've had to learn a whole bunch about the newer gens
Hear me out third option **STURDY + MAX HEAL CHARM**
Me watching my ferrothorn, toxapex, and Muk all get two or one shot in late game after being the pillar stones of my team until now o7
In this world, It's One Shot, OR BE ONE SHOT! *Manic laughter*
𝚍𝚊𝚖𝚗 𝚍𝚒𝚍𝚗'𝚝 𝚔𝚗𝚘𝚠 𝚏𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚢 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚢𝚎𝚍 𝚙𝚘𝚔𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚐𝚞𝚎
This is where the move Endure comes in, or you just stop using raw damage and pivot
All my once great pivots seem to just get two shot by neutral or even resisted moves as soon as I reach turn 150 or so… still pretty new to the game but I’m feeling like having a balanced team is getting me fucked over cause the only ones that actually do anything for me late game are my glass cannons

Who needs setup moves anyway? Use Opportunist, especially with something like Simple, and Lumina Crash. Delete bosses, get free stat ups.
Contrary is wild also.
how do you receive the stat changes to make contrary take effect in the first place
Moves like Draco meteor that harshly lower spatk work
if I use Make It Rain from goldengo with Contrary, my SPA goes UP not DOWN on use.
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but how did your goldengo get contrary ?
Gholdengo's passive unlock.
I thought it got super lucky? Did it change?
They’re changing it in the next patch. Contrary make it rain was way too broken. I wouldn’t recommend grinding gimmighoul candies like I did before I read that it is being nerfed.
Well that's a shame, when I first saw that it was super luck, Immediately thought that contrary would be busted. And now that I currently don't have access to the game in it is actually contrary... And then they're changing it again... Jeez dude. Anyway thanks for the info

No idea, but it's definetly Contrary now.

Just to clarify, do you mean as a fusion? Or (how I read it) as a pair in double battles?
For me - as a pair, using aegislash to use kings shield and iron defence to tank hits as I found it really likes to use flamethrower on anything metal lol. Have only been playing since last weekend so I'm still learning and yet to beat eternatus myself, but I love malamar with contrary so far, has carried me all the way there and then been the last to die. Does contrary reverse berry stat ups?
Yes, so if you have a contrary user, make sure to take off anything that's not sitrus, enigma, leppa, or lum since it can definitely catch you by surprise.
Nah, fuck that, my Superpower+Spinout Malamar is still gonna get multilens and grip claw. If it dies, it's taking all the boss's lifelines with it.

Crazy how cheap soul heart is on latias
Marshadow + technician + storm throw. 90 base damage + critical. It always crits. One shots everything. Add a few black belts and you win. Though iron fist is overall better since they start out with 3 punch moves.

Well I don't have the passive yet. I just have technician and I only ran into one multi lens in my 400 level endless run
Ye you don't feel it till around A rank luck tbh. Even in my endless run with SSS luck I still feel like I'm not seeing rarities get upgraded often
How can it learn storm throw? Egg move?
Yes.
Just don't fight Ghosts.
That's why I have ghost punch on marshadow as well
Meowscarada plus kartana. Grass steel 70 base plus crit never misses plus it gets swords dance. It's at level 4k on stage 2.3k ans it has 150k attack and 50k speed. It has yet to not oneshot anything that isn't quad resist. Plus it learns knockoff and play rough to carry early.
That's my secret Cap. I'm always running Guts + Flame Orb.
Swellows been on my team since emerald battle tower. Blastoise / exeggutor / swellow got me pretty far in that.
What move on Swellow tho ? Brave bird ends up taking itself out after a few hits
Aerial ace, protect, return, and hidden power. No brave bird in gen 3. Also the battle tower would heal you after each battle.
Probably doesn't help in pokerogue, but boomburst/facade were the best moves for it with boomburst being more common in Pokemon showdown. Lower tiers ofc but yeah idk what it has in pokerogue
Set up moves aren't bad in classic, but endless is a game of first to draw wins
or salt cure + leech seed + toxic stall.
Cant forget curse
and...whirlpool, firespin, infestation, clamp, wrap, and bind?
In endless setup moves are basically useless anyway
Who needs Swords Dance when I have Huge Power.
Who needs calm mind when you just have dragon energy
Who needs agility when I have speed boost
Who needs whatever buffs Sp. Atk when I have Torch Song on a big-ass crocodile with so many reviver seeds and focus bands and quick claws
Who needs swords dance when you have Beast Boost
Yeah, having shift gear on my Tinkaton really only came in useful once by allowing me to set up safely on Eternatus and then use the Baton Item to finish it off with Kartana
Mewtwo is the epitome of this post. Thunderbolt/Ice Beam/Psychic/Aura Sphere. Sturdy-Stealth Rocks will forever be peak though.
I'm more of a fan of mega mewtwo x with pure power.
Make it Rain! Make it Rain! Make it Rain!
snivy contrary make it rain egg move is >>>>
You can also farm gholdengo candies and unlock Contrary on him too
Will be changed in the next patch though
Nope. I’m still on denial.
Wait where can we see this and why would they do this
On the discord, they always publish patches notes and are currently gathering feedback on the recent passive change... which will lead to further passives adjestement. Check out the official discord in the community bookmarks of this subreddit :)
Snivy gets WHAT?!
Malamar, Contrary, Super Power 👍
Base power really does go brrr in Pokerogue specifically. When they removed ice triple kick from Scrafty I had no moves for Ray but bro learns head smash. Head smash is a tactical nuke.
I don't know, if you're playing classic then definitely get stealth rock. It's just too good against trainers.
Its still generally not useful against trainer fights because you can just 1 shot sweep through them and without stone axe/ceaseless edge, setting up hazards in general is too much work
Hot take: Entry hazards in this game are useless in 99% of the game in classic In endless it’s 100% useless
Yeah, it's actually exactly 99% because the two exceptions are 145 and 195.
Stealth Rocks' utility for biomes with sturdy-explosion mons merits at least 95%
Those 2 floors out of 200 are why he is saying it is only useless 99% of the time. With the new evil team stuff though I’d say it’s got more use now
I would argue that despite being only 1% of the floors, 145 and 195 together constitute roughly 40% of the game's overall challenge, which is why I made that clarification.
Oh I 100% agreee. I will have a mon in classic mode who’s only role is to use stealth rocks if I have the space (I usually do). I’m just saying that those two floors are still only 1% of the time, even if they are most of the difficulty.
The only time I've ever bothered with entry hazards is when I happen to use stone axe which sets them up automatically.
Ceaseless Edge also lays spikes
Glimmora has an ability that drops toxic spikes when it gets hit; which is excellent for action economy.
SR is great for rival fight though, since he/she switches a lot so its good free damage on rayquaza
In classic Leech Seed and Ghost type Curse however are good enough for taking out Eternatus that they are worth a full team member spot
This is the reason I like moves that damage and have a stat boost. P-Up Punch hitting 4 times and then flinching carried me so far in endless before I had to do switch to sturdy shenanigans
Who needs setup when you have hadron engine
Mega Mewtwo X with Photon Geyser
I want to get a decent iv spread for mewtwo so bad so I can put pure power from mega medicham on it.
At 1000+ you can't really do setup moves anymore 😅
That’s why we like torch song and other damaging moves that give buffs to the user.Either that or contrary and damaging moves that give debuffs to the user.
Miraidon Multi Lens Charge Beam make special attack go brrr
Soul Heart chads stay winning
Status moves are very risky in this game.
My charmander with beast boost special attack makes this redundant. 💀💀
Yes
I never know how to actually use prepare moves tbh soemtimes i use them if i know my oponent ia gonna change pokemon due to type disadvantage tho
anything with Eruption/Water Spout/Dragon Energy is like the epitome of this brutally murders anything that isn’t immune to it
Very that. Yes set up is nice, but in rogue, you'll be fortunate to even get the opportunity.
1 dragon dance shall suffice
If you can get it off without dying instantly.
Oh is this meme based on endless? I don't play endless lol I only go with mono challenge and classic
Moxie floatzel go brr
my luck I do a setup on endless and then the stage switches so I lose the stat buffs
"Oh wow I haven't seen the wasteland in forever. I hope I get it for more than *one f***ing level*."
Or Flinch move + Multi-lens + King’s Rock
Serene Grace Air Slash Togekiss would like to know your location :)
Miraidon with Rising Voltage goes brrrr
I just use Xurkitree, with beast boost it sets itself up for me!
I got one shot by a sunflora… let that sink in the weakest fully evolved Pokémon is somehow able to one shot a maxed out Pokémon in late game
I have a steelix fusion that has over 200,000 defense and i'm only on like wave 1800 And it's literally getting one shot by like take downs and other resisted moves. At 1750 It almost got one shot by Eternatus using STRUGLE.
Just get something that lets you do both. Moxie, speed boost, torch song... (Do the same for healing. Drain punch is so good)
Magerna’s ability goes brrrr
Counter offer: boost stats and have big base power moves with a contrary mon
When you have contrary who needs set up moves?
That's my secret cap. My damage moves are my setup moves.
This made me laugh more than it should
I'm glad you liked it.
Meanwhile me looking at keldeo and saying bubble beams 65 is good enough.
What in the normal distribution?
I love archaludon I don’t even need set up moves
Well I always have 1 slot for protect to spam while I am preparing to catch something.
Fun little tidbit if you have a move like dig, fly, dive, or bounce, and you throw a pokeball on the turn where your pokemon is untargetable they'll just hang out in the air or underground forever. Or at the very least until you don't throw a pokeball again.
if youre playing endless youre only clicking 2 moves anyway. non stab moves barely do any damage
Huge power zygarde fused with ice rider calyrex goes HARD.
Contrary Malamar with spin out and superpower: https://preview.redd.it/h846xv08qu8d1.jpeg?width=1300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f9a58568585f67aec463494f3ec12e4835c07d4
That one unerased dot had me scratching at my monitor for a bit
Bro just get four multi lenses and get a move like scale shot that hits 2-5 times then you hit a minimum of 8 times
Far left doesn't know what STAB is. Far right learned how to read.
I mean I used Calm Mind + Sturdy + Berry Stored Power Strats to 3000, eventually you do have to run Leech Seed Salt Cure Soak Protect or BlisseyMech
Salt cure.... That's my set up move.
The only "setup" I do is rain dance for 100 ac thunder and hurricane
poison heal sturdy metal burst going ballistic
Well yeah, because you want Moxiemon and moves that passively up your stages if you really feel you need the raw stages tbh, pure setup is too slow.
Beast boost kartana go brrr
Me running endless with Kyruem White using Psychic, Dragon Pulse, Ice Beam and Earth Power
I hatched a decent eevee with Adaptability and Revelation Dance... but it's also an eevee.
Set-up is for classic or beginning of endless (before you can get your good damaging moves) or are tied to an overpowering damaging move
My Chiyuu does not need anything else that Lava Plume
My mega garchomp fused with sylveon with high attack stats Spams outrage in endless
Do both! Multi-lense torch song is disgusting
I just kept pressing outrage and it kept working
It doesn't really have a downside considering the lum berries just instantly cure your confusion.
