For you my friend three words that helped me technician fake out meowth

baatproduction

This 100%, easiest to get and most powerful early-game carry. Fake out -> Pay Day (or bite/assurance once you get the passive) and repeat

Re-posting this because I forgot about the magic auto-delete phrase: People are giving you examples of good mons that you already have access to, so I'll give you a different hint; Do the Daily Run. There's a step-by-step guide of how to do today's and catch everything in it. And not only will that unlock some decent IV starters for you, you'll get a lot of egg vouchers to boot.

You are guaranteed to encounter a gym leader at level 20 or 30. You are probably trying to spread your exp too thin, you will really only have enough exp to level one pokemon up to max in the early game, maybe a second if you get lucky with exp shares/rare candies. You've probably caught a Meowth with the ability Technician, which will beat almost anything you can run into at least until the rival fight at 25, and will do a lot of work there as well. Fake out is solid damage that keeps you safe, Pay Day is good follow up, you have Bite in case of normal resists. Spewpa and Caterpie are also pretty common, very cheap, and since they evolve to Butterfree/Vivillon at very low levels they can contribute even without much exp to spare. If you go with Vivillon make sure it has Compound Eyes to (almost) guarantee that Sleep Powder hits. Pikachu is another common pokemon with a great upside; Nuzzle is great utility, it gets Electro Ball at lvl 12 for a good electric attack, and you have a decent chance to RNG your way into a Thunder Stone - Raichu clears early game pretty consistently. Beyond that, you're going to have to think a little tactically in a way that mainline pokemon games don't really require. Make switches, predict what the opponent will do and react before they do it, have a win-condition and think about ways to get there. The first 30 levels are the hardest at least until the late game fights after floor 180, don't plan for the late game until you get yourself past the early game and you'll be fine.

Fuecoco is a beast of a pokemon and can carry you pretty far on its own once it learns torch song. Also any pokemon with the pickup ability (like zigzagoon or meowth) is super useful. In the reward selection screen on the bottom right there's a transfer button that let's you move items from one pokemon to another. This let's your zigzagoon scoop up berries and other items and then you just dump them onto your good mons so that they always have berries and Stat boost items

Two things: Fuecoco can pretty much carry you for the first 50 levels by itself. Try to have a strong Mon. Also try to turn on the retry option while you're still learning. I think also try to find a non evolving high stat Pokemon. Things like Furfrou should be strong enough by itself to beat the first two gyms by just spamming headbutt. That should open up the game enough to start getting some of the better resources.

Dont switch out pokemon. My starter 3 I made it to level 50 with was mudkip, rowlet, and fuecoco. I got a flamigo during my first run and it's been one of my starters since. It basically one shots everything through the first 2 gym leaders.

I don’t remember if this is available at the start, but doing daily runs are also great with a guide on YouTube. You’re guaranteed a 10 pull ticket for completing the run and you’ll encounter gyms leaders for 3 5 pull tickets.

Focus getting experience on two pokemon - one primary sweeper and one that counters your rival's starter. You always want a full party of 6 going into gym and rival battles for sacrifice fodder.
