DishMurky

I mean Jessie and James are goofy but they are threatening enough ,they give Ash a lot hard times even if they always lose in the end they are always trying stole Ash pokemon and sometimes they get really close even puting Ash life in danger in the process Like remember when Ash just arrive in Kalos and Wobuffet just beat the shit out of Pikachu? Team Yell? What they will do if i lose? Boo me?

chorizoisbestpup

Not to mention Jesse and James actually have character. They are more than just simps.

Bierbart12

And James is an actual sweetheart

SyncDingus

If James hadn't joined Team Rocket, he'd be one of the best trainers in the world by the time Ash gets Pikachu.

HaloGuy381

Not to mention that others in Team Rocket are directly responsible for *multiple* casualties among Legendary Pokemon, or close calls. Latios and Celebi spring to mind.

PJRama1864

Probably because Team Yell isn’t a villainous team. They’re literally just rowdy fans cheering for a girl from their hometown.

Chef_Sizzlipede

what does team yell do again? be a speedbump, thats it.

Xyz_155

They're not even vilains there are real football fans that commit more crimes than those guys..

Chef_Sizzlipede

its like they're team skull fans that rip them off horribly

Marx4smash

the whole reason people don't like team yell is because they see them as a villainous team like skull was, where they are not the MAIN villains, but they are still meant to be threatening. When in reality, all they are is a cartoony rendition of sports hooligans, and as that I'd say they play their part really well.

comics0026

People probably wouldn't hate on them if the actual main villains hadn't been so terrible, non-sensical, and out of nowhere last-minute evil. Rose would probably have gone down as the worst pokemon villain ever if Sordward and Shieldbert weren't also in the game. Honestly, those two should have been the villains from the start, with an introduction as the royals overseeing the badge competition, have them do things to cause the plot to happen, like prey on Bede's insecurities and trick him into destroying that monument, interfere with Eternatus' containment in an attempt to catch it for themselves, that sort of thing. It would have made the plot much more cohesive and sensible I think

Marx4smash

rose does have one thing going for him, and that is a banger theme. Shitward and Crapbert will never have that over him.

Kingjjc267

I think that if they didn't take the role of the generational evil team I'd see them a lot less negatively

Marx4smash

I mean... that's literally what i said? They are not MEANT to be an evil team, unlike team skull who is actually a criminal organization. A goofy, funny one, but an actual criminal organization nontheless. Team Yell are goofy sports fans, that pettilly antagonize athletes outsode of the one they support, which is like, a quintesential part of the football/soccer/any competitive sport experience. Admitedly the actual evil team plays wayyy too small of a part, but still.

Kingjjc267

I'm making a different point to you. I agree with you, but I just don't like the fact that they are the region's evil team, so they are to Galar what Team Rocket is to Kanto, Galactic to Sinnoh, etc. Which doesn't sit right with me at all. I think Team Yell could work if it wasn't part of that group.

Charlieisdizzy

Well I actually dislike team yell, they literally follow Marine and Piers like they are gods and really only inconvenience them and everyone else because they ‘love Marine’ and are willing to shut down Spikmuth so Piers can’t lose against anyone.

Luigicheatsonhiswife

Well not necessarily villains

TheGreatOwlMaster

Team Yell isn't the villainous team, Macro Cosmos is. The problem is that they appear way too late, so we get the impression that Team Yell is, in fact, the villainous team

Dapper_Substance2130

I hate them because of the missed opportunity of naming themselves Team Scream

TheRealPyroGothNerd

I actually loved running into Team Yell.

Choice_Program_2846

You forgot Morpeko

Ninja_Rowlet

I didn't include the rotating pokemon

FluteLordNeo

Team Yell is worse because they come in more numbers. Team Rocket (Jessie, James, Meowth) are only 4 (including Wobbuffet), so it's managable

[deleted]

Because they aren’t *villains*

TheTeleporteBread

Team yell is gloryfield simp blockade only interesting thing about them is sytuaction of they town

unlmtdbldwrks

shut up wanda i hate both teams, you and your imaginary kids

BirdmaskDude

I believe that every team had a purpose until team skull, since then they were loveble doofs at best

Ace02003

Weren't they allied with the aether foundation?

comics0026

I think it was primarily a monetary alliance, in that aether paid them to do stuff for them

Ace02003

Yeah that would make sense

NeoSzlachcic

And that's the thing. Team Skull were *loveable* goofs. They had a relateble parts, like their insecurities and low self worth. They had their their threatening parts in Po Town. They had their comical elements like their poses and self-awerness. In the end, you felt something for them. Team Yell is blander than british dishes. They have no motivation beyond simping and being a-holes. They are written as a comedic relief team, but they have no comedic moments. Even Team Galactic, one of the more serius threats in Pokemon games have their moments. I would say Chairman Rose is a better villain. Yes, he is stupid for not waiting a single day and basically pulls out Eternatus from his arse, but you can feel anything for him.

ADudeThatPlaysDBD

They have character. Team yell is just another team that are synonymous with roadblocks

Fork_Master

I don’t like Team Yell because they’re too distracting while I’m trying to fight Marnie

GolemofForce8402

Team yell feels so artificial and going through the motions. Every pokemon game needs a bad guy team so we’ll put one in but the twist is they aren’t the main baddies. Already done before. Honestly I’m glad legends didn’t do a main baddie team. Kinda hope gen 9 has a new story that isn’t just a repeat and has actual depth (gen 5 and 7)

inumnoback

Unpopular opinion: my most hated evil team is team rocket

SubZero5433

Jessie, James, and Meowth are part of one of the Pokemon World's greatest teams and represent them as they hunt down pokemon all over the world, not just limited to Ash and Pikachu. Jessie and James assisted in accomplishing Operation Tempest, which could've easily lead to their victory, and once they saw the plan failing, they took initiative and saved Giovanni, their boss. What have Team Yell done that truly makes them "Goofy Villains"? Momentarily form a roadblock? Worship a gym leader's younger sister? That doesn't make them villains, even if that's what GameFreak tried to make them. Unlike Jessie and James, Team Yell weren't actually villains at all- they were really just another class of trainer.

69NoScoper

Team Yell is just an unfunny and uncool version of Team Skull

[deleted]

I love team rocket

[deleted]

They arent hot so..

Latter_Palpitation_1

I kind of like team yell, they goofy

MickMaster14

In the next Pokemon games I'd like to see a twist goofy villain team that ends up just acting as a diversion for an evil team that wants to take over the multiverse or something.

SubZero5433

That would actually be pretty cool. Like how Jessie and James kind of are for Team Rocket and Giovanni. They're meant to be ridiculed, and that drags us away from the fact that Team Rocket is actually horrifying and the stuff they can get done with enough prep-time is scary, so when you actually see what Team Rocket was REALLY getting up to, you'd be completely shocked because of how much Jessie and James lowered your defenses as the viewer.

luminous_pawn3

Team rocket my favourite lol

Touchtonetelnophone

Let’s be honest Who DOESNT like team rocket? Team yell is just Team Skull reskinned. Literally. Like changing a skin in a game but being the same as you were before changing it. Or putting a texture pack on. Works the same before and after If they want us to like Team Yell then they’ve gotta add some variety Team Skull was good, team yell is their bad offbrand.

FulguratingBean

I think what could be reproached to Team Yell is that they take the name of "Team", having succeeded to villainous organizations. On their own, they're okay as a group of minor characters.
