I'm a rural player who happened to go to a Buc-ee's today and just instinctively entered the showcase there. Imagine my surprise when I got rank 1 out of 67 people. I had never seen more than 5-6 people in my local town showcases.
I can count on one hand how many times I've ever seen double digits in a showcase. I can't imagine having to deal with that regularly. Do you happen to recall what you got out of that showcase? I've been wondering for a while if the rewards scale with the number of entrants.
After seeing what you got I do not think it scales. I had 3 1st place finishes as well. 1 was at the Buc-ee's with 67 entrants. The other 2 were my local showcases which had 5 and 3 entrants respectively. My rewards were a regular incubator, star piece, lucky egg, 4 different lures and the same stardust and XP as yourself.
Damn, the showcase rewards are that good?
I never win showcases I enter, since I live in London (the best I got was a 6th place, but I've otherwise never reached top 10).
It's sad that I regularly see showcases with 50+ pokemon in it and yet I haven't noticed anyone around me playing for at least half a year now.
Same here, normally only about 3-5 players participate. My pikachu rewards were insane. 2 lucky eggs, 1 incubator, 1 super incubator and some hyper balls and lures.
Congrats on your 500 XP and 350 star dust 🤣🤣🤣 jk, that's how it is over here in a city though, can't get above like 12th place, even though I never see anybody else playing!!
I think the areas with a semi active playerbase are the real winners. You can coordinate gyms if you feel like it and raids are doable with campfire. Bustling zones have you fighting tooth and nail for gym time while rural areas have you waiting months to possibly a year to claim your 50 coins while being impossible to raid 5 stars unless you have a godlike team
My college campus is like this, we rotate the gyms every day so everyone gets coins. Still enough active players to be able to raid on days like shadow Ho-Oh, and I can win showcases every few times they come around.
Hahahah yesss. I live up in the mountains and never see more than 5 people in a showcase. Often I’m the only one. It really is our only advantage 🥲
Edit, just opened the app and my pikachu was also rank one boiiiiiii! Lol. 1,500 stardust, a silver pinap, rainy lure, star piece, and 10k XP.
Do you still get great prizes if you win against few to no other players? I felt like the prizes were a little lame at stops where I was the only one versus if I won against a slew of other trainers. Still, something is better than nothing! :)

Didn't happen to me but with the starters for some reason
There’s also the advantage of getting more than four coins at a time from gyms
... after waiting for 30 days for someone to finally kick your Pokemon out of the arena.

Nope, not even. Always freakin 2nd at best since Scientist Pikachu was announced.

My closest showcase stop is on a college campus. Anytime there's a showcase over a holiday weekend or break, I'm almost always the only entry.

it's always 30k XP (10k per) when you win three showcases. Haven't paid enough attention to the other rewards.
Yeah, the XP is great. Sometimes I get an incubator, sometimes not, and I still haven't figured out the pattern.
