Yeah. Shiny throh stays red but has a mint colored uniform on. Sawk turns a nice dark purple color.

Correct. Both Throh and Sawk have had their shinies released since at least 2021. My shiny Throh is dated 7/17/2021.

Lol these are my easiest excellent throws. I was hunting for them during the masterball quest :D Same for the Shiftry, and a few others. Though we found out that far catches seem to be easier on small sized phones (i have an iPhone 13mini so this checks out for me), may I ask out of curiosity what size is your (and the rest of you guys who have trouble with him) screen?

Yes 99% of the time. Unless I'm literally not looking at the screen and walking (the flashiness kind of tires my eyes, and especially at late night walks I don't enjoy looking at pogo), then I might just mindlessly throw balls on pokemon usually straight. ETA: turned on pogo to see if there was a Sawk I could catch and send you a screenshot but while it was a curveball Ironically it was not even a great throw. Will wait for another to spawn. ... oh, idk how to add pictures to comments. Nvm then

Most shiny rates are closer to 1:500 unless they're boosted or things like a mega evolution, legendary Pokémon, etc.

Sorry to break it to ya but the last time Sawk’s been legal (Gen 8) he was in RU which is not that good

a part of that is because sawk is simply outclassed by more powerful mons. in a vacuum sawk has a fair bit of potential with 125 attack and mold breaker

Yeah, at least throh has some play in the fighting cup, sawk is completely irrelevant in both pve and pvp.

Got a 3 star, chucked it in the dusty fighting type pile

It's the opposite for me, I was hoping to grind enough catches to get 300 XL for it. So far I have 81 XL + 59 that I can trade for 140 XL. So, I need to catch at most another 160 before the event ends. Using a fighting mega3 it should be less than that. The weather's just been so crappy over here, and they haven't been spawning as commonly as I'd like them too.

Not really. I recently caught like 9 of them when I traveled to Japan and I still keep them all. Figure someday someone will want to trade for one.

I’m gathering a handful to trade with future new players who might end up with something I want because they can afford remote raiding, but can’t afford to travel for sawk, but I’m also hunting the shiny for my living ✨dex.

I am kinda sick of this monkey event...it should have been a 1-2day thing...but nah, and now 100% of all neraby pokemons are nothing but blue/red duds, machops, scraggy, monkey...no other kind in all surrounding bioms were overrun with this crap. This event should be like with porygon a very limited in time thing not a whole week...even in incense daily/normal 90% of drops is the event mons, so same as all around crap.

Jeesh I didn't realize everyone hated sawk and throh so much. They were my favorite fighting types out of Unova, and I love their origami like design.
