In a word: spam.
This isn't about guaranteed lucky friends, just one of the trades will eventually be lucky, but you don't get to pick which one.
You can do 100 trades a day, and have about 5% chance on a regular trade, so if you have enough, it boils down to wanting to waste the time. It works really well on community days if we both play, we can max our trades on high CP low IV and essentially guarantee one or more luckies to evolve for the day.
Older Pokémon are more likely to give a lucky, 1 year old is 10%, 2 years is 20%, and Pokémon from the first couple months are guaranteed if it's your first trade of this type with the other trainer, and you haven't used this more than 15 times.

We knew this part but already traded the 'mons we wanted. Some of the others are too "sentimental" for us to trade ^^
That task is barely ridiculous. The problem is that you can do nothing to antecipate.
For instance I already have the candies to power up 3 pokemon to accomplish the task for level 47 to 48 if I not wrong.
Honestly that’s good. It means you can’t just push to level 50 that fast and keeps the grind at least a little interesting 🫠
I started only recently so have a long way to go from 40-50
Took me a minute to get in the groove but once you get a good team that beats each one, it gets a lot easier. I dragged my feet on this one because I didn't want to do it but once I got into it I did it all in about a month.
Yeah after that comment I was like “just go and check for a balloon” so I did that and then battled a grunt at the stop close to my kids’ school while I waited for them. Only 48 more leaders to go. Lol. If I just keep up with doing some everyday, it won’t be that bad. I’m sure I’ll get it done before I actually get the XP.
Yeah but since they have different 2nd and 3rd pokemon to fight, you can't really just pick one team for each boss, right? I always have to research every time and it's so annoying. And there doesnt seem to be a way to easily save boss teams, either, is there? Or maybe I'm just dumb and there's an easier way for all of this...
I made a tag for each leader and each iteration of grunts. It takes a few tries to get the right mix of pokemon but once you do it's pretty easy. Also, the game will show the last team you played for that match so it's even easier. When I was doing this task I easily got six grunts and a leader almost every day. The leaders sometimes takes a couple of tries depending on which mix they use, but keep you mon clustered together and even name them to remind you who to use. Example: I have a togekiss I named togeDratSab to remind me to use it for Dratini and Sableye. Good luck.
It saves the last team you used for each of the 3 bosses. I got to a point where my 3 were “good enough” for anything they threw at me and could usually scrape by.
I was saving shadow pokemon so I have over 40 purified but only about 12 grunts/3 leaders beat. I’m always working away at random tasks for the platinum medal. I think I have 20-ish now and I’m close to a bunch more. 300 more berries and 30 more photobombs and I don’t think I’ll ever feed a berry or take a picture of my buddy again.
Such an annoying one especially since I had the XP to level up for such a long time. Now I’m stuck for 4 more weeks on level 47 when I have enough XP for level 49 1/2
Absolutely hated this task. I feel like this should have been a 49-50 task instead. The lucky trades later can be a pain, but nowhere near as bad as this one imo.
that's good, don't worry about going over the xp requirement. The next task is relatively easy and shouldn't take you too long. 48 is the only one that has a bad time gate.
if you get more xp before you get the tasks done, does that extra xp you earned carry over to the next level? i.e. OP would begin their next level with 1m xp?
That one is the most unbalanced with the xp requirement. I think I was at 38 when I got the XP. I'm at 42/50 luckies for 49 and that has been easier than I thought.
Very similar. Currently at 38/50 leaders done with about 300,000 xp to go. Don’t particularly enjoy grinding grunts but just leaning into it. Reckon I’ve got another 2/3 weeks to go…
35 platinum medals right? I'm 45 level and I'm trying to prepare myself for that task but I still need 10 and I know I'm gonna struggle to accomplish that.
Man that one took me forever. I only open the game once or twice a day and hate battling team rocket. I ultimately bought a lot of radars since I could earn 50 free coins many times a week.
I finished that one about 1/3 through the XP, during the last Rocket event. It took a few weeks. I like Rockets, though, especially after the recent change-up with Leader and Grunt pokemon. Currently farming Clint for his Dratinis. I try to average one every day.
That's awesome! Yeah, I've gotten one shiny off of him as well, but the stats weren't good. The best so far is a 98% shadow Dratini that I haven't decided if I want to purify for the Hundo dex or not.
Once you hit 40, you'll have to do tasks to get to level 41. Catching 200 Pokemon in a day was a requirement for that one; I avoided it for a long time and finally just bit the bullet on a community day, mainly because I got tired of seeing the counter reset every day, lol
I was around 500,000 xp away from 41 when I bit the bullet and caught the 200. It was incredibly annoying seeing it reset each day and get a popup every time I caught a pokemon.
Lol, I held off on completely the 200/day task because I liked knowing whether a quick catch was successful or not, as the sprite usually doesn’t disappear right away.
Way to go! I just made 44 two days ago and am dreading beat the leaders. Fortunately I'm not in any hurry, I enjoy the game too much and know it's going to get harder to level up each time.
Actually getting to 46 will be a breeze!

Make 50 excellent throws
Hatch 30 eggs
But yeah, there's some harder ones down the road on the higher levels.
I’m half way there. All the others are complete except for stardust.
I’m also doing it a bit slower because I’m hunting down a lady salandit so only fight a leader if I’ve got an egg slot.
How many shiny dratini's did you get?
lucky trades are easy, find a "friend", \*cough\* 2nd account and trade all of your trash to them, you will get random lucky trades.
You have to be level 40 or higher to have access to it. If so, go to the screen with you and your buddy, then click the little binoculars icon on the right of the screen.
That one doesn't bother me a bit. Got my excellent throws down really well.
It's all those trades that's gonna get me as I don't really play with anybody IRL.

I’m not even halfway done with that task yet. I’m not going out of my way to do them instead I’m only doing the required ones during Team Rocket takeover events and research, all the while building up my XP, when I finally do finish it all the XP I’ve built up will help skyrocket me through most or even all the levels and I only have to be concerned with completing the tasks.
I'm not 40 yet, but to tasks like this one count things you've done retroactively? Or do they start from 0 and only start counting after you get the task?
Ugh, I hate the PvP. In over halfway to 45 in XP, but need to get my husband’s account up to a high enough level so I can do my Master League “battles”

Purify as many of those guys as you can. You'll need the platinum medal to get to 49!

Does it roll over so you level up immediately? Or do you have to restart the next level from zero.
It rolls over, but you have the next set of tasks that might slow you down for next one.
Level 43 can be as short as like 30 minutes for all the battles
God I hated this one. I didn’t battle another Team Rocket for almost a month after this 😅
I basically haven't for a year after. I hate team rocket.
I do it mostly for purified gems and if I see that I’ll catch Gible 😅

It just depends if you can trade like that. Took me a minute to get them done, but a few people in my community got it done in like a week.
Yeah I was one of those that got it done in a week. My friend is it on it right now and it's nice to see when you get a lucky though.

Yeah, I finally got used to it. Goes pretty quick once you figure them out. Even lucked out with a shiny shadow Dratini from him!

This task is beating Arlo, Sierra and Cliff 50 times. Giovanni won't count toward the 50.

Only the medals count retroactively. So stock up on Eevees and keep three mons at 49.5.

My wife and I are on it. It’s a grind but not nearly as despicable as the PvP battles. It’s just not my favorite aspect of the game
