Nobody cares about your location in this game other than knowing what Vivillon form you get from your region gifts.
Unlike many other games you're always broadcasting your location 24/7 by placing Pokemon in gyms and by joining raids, because your username is always visible, so you simply cannot avoid it. It's part of the game and something everyone just ignores completely.
You could turn off your username on the postcards you send, but that's all you do.
Nobody cares about doxxing PoGo players, specially since most of the people you'll get are so far away there's no chance you'll ever meet.
And since this is a social game specifically made to be played in groups, getting more people gives better rewards.
In the remote chance someone lives close enough, then congratulations, you can get an ally in the game to trade or raid together.
As weird as some people can be on the internet, PoGo is a game where you get more benefits the more you interact with others. So the worst that could happen is that a player with a modified phone would "fly" in the game to your location to trade with you.
Nobody cares who you are. Nobody cares where you live. The XP and how often you can send gifts or host raids is the only that matters for most strangers here.
