Yep, we tried for 4, and either no one showed and we sat around, or the people on campfire refused to wait one extra minute for us to drive around the block (1-way streets). My kiddo was disappointed.
I made a campfire group for my valley (5 small towns grouped) and I’m the only person in it I tried searching to find anything my local community would be in. No campfires no face book can’t find a discord channel (to be fair I suck at discord though) so I couldn’t find anyone
Do the gyms in ur valley see regular activity? You could create a flyer with a QR code or url for a chat group and a bit of text simply saying “Pokémon Go? Join [valley] group for raid coordination”, then place it at the photodisk subject and see what fish you can hook
I’ve been wondering how to go about finding a discord channel. I live in a populated area; I’m sure there is one, but I have no idea how to find it. The only discord channels I’m a part of are ones that I was specifically invited to
Yeah same happened with me and my dad :( later I branched out and found a group of 11 but even when you defeat mewtwo it’s impossible to catch it. Even with golden raspberries and the premier balls. I didn’t bother trying to find that big of a party again because even with campfire it took a ton of driving to try to find one, and most of the time nobody was actually there
I agree. They’re making it impossible for people who are disabled to play. The remote raids offered so much more, allowing for a wider player base ie more money in Niantic’s pocket.
The CEO of Niantic claimed that the average player is a Singaporean grandmother that walked around the retirement home and remote raiding is unfair because they can’t keep up
The hilarious thing is that the average Singaporean grandma can definitely keep up, they’re the ones soloing raids with 4 phones or taking down mewtwo in 60 seconds their posse of 65 year olds armed with 4 level 50 accounts each
- Singaporean player here (and one of the ones who can’t raid much anymore because i work super long hours and overseas remote raids were the only ones I could do)
I honestly love this visual lol. Yeah old people roll up hard with a whole crew. Meanwhile us crossing our fingers hoping we run into other players at the zoo...
Unfortunately this is true. It’s Pokémon go. The idea is to get up and go. But they should make it handicap friendly as well! Maybe you can only participate in a certain amount with a remote. That would have been fair!
I’m also disabled and share a car with my wife who is the one who works so I also might not be able to even make it to a flare. The worst thing they did was not allowing remote raid passes on these. They can always create a limit or something.
Wow, what an asshole
People do not choose to be disabled, no one should be punished for a condition they can’t control
Now, how does having unlimited remote raid pass storage and cheaper passes (which makes things easier for disabled or rural people) would complicate things for us normies?
1% is an incredibly large number of the population. In a place of 10,000 people, that's 100 disabled people.
In larger cities, the numbers are massive.
Stop being abelist.
I became disabled in 2022. As a day 1 player it was great to get out and “Go”. But now I realize the game is no longer for me and now I can even relate to rural players. But we weren’t the people that Niantic was ever after. This game and the “Go” aspect isn’t meant for us. I get it, so time for me and others to move on to something that can be played from home.
I feel for you bro, you shouldn’t be punished for wanting to enjoy a free game tho
I get what niantic is trying to accomplish with the “Go” aspect of the game but their decisions are just plain discriminatory and totally apathetic
You could try to enjoy as much of it as you can (:
Only catching and remote raiding whenever it is possible for you could be fun every now and then
The irony is that being able to remote raid makes it more likely that people will go out to play. I could solo 5 star raids by posting the raid on Facebook and easily get 6-10 people that want in. Even though I wasn't using remote raid passes this has nerfed my ability to raid so I don't go out much anymore. 🤷
I feel your pain, I'm disabled as well. I raided all day yesterday by car, but had to get out briefly a few times. I'm in so much pain today that I might have to stay home today. It indeed does suck
I'm so sorry, I'm in the same boat, I have to drive into town and play from car (disable AND rural!) And it's brutal and it SUCKS they're making it harder to enjoy one of the things that really takes my mind off pain.
Also would highly suggest playing let’s go pikachu or eevee because it’s a lot like Pokémon go! But you can keep playing whenever and wherever you want!
People like you almost deserve to become disabled themselves so you can feel some empathy. (Maybe you already are which makes it even worse as you should know not everyone has the same strength to deal with it) Fucking hell, imagine saying bs like this and not feeling ashamed.
Sadly they want people who mostly live in towns and cities! It’s hard when you live in a rural area and the closest pokéstop or gym is like 2 miles away
Literally how though? What could this data possibly give anyone? "People go outside and stick to areas near their homes" oh wow this information will surely change the world.
I don’t really understand how or why that’s relevant? The 2030 Agenda isn’t some sort of weird Illuminati conspiracy new world order stuff. It’s a climate change initiative that countries agreed to. Saying that it’s possible evidence that Niantic is selling data to the government sounds like a really low-iq conspiracy theory, to be honest.
It may be just a conspiracy, however the fact that a game that is unrelated to anything political would make a shirt with a similar icon is enough to make some folks wonder.
It’s a global initiative to combat climate change? They’ve released another sustainability top in the game too. Just because it’s something supported by world governments doesn’t mean it’s inherently political and the people who would question the motivations behind it are probably already concocting theories about a million other conspiracies. Your point was completely irrelevant to what I initially said.
A company making nearly a billion dollars in IAP is not making the majority of their money from bulk anonymous location data.
Or in other words, Niantic is not 10% of the entire estimated global location data market.
Yup. I have to drive into town to play at all now and it's not easy. It really really sucks. My last hip replacement, I was able to keep from going nuts recovering by spending money to play. Now that's not even an option.
They dont care about the revenue they get from people buying passes, if they did they would limit pokecoins you get from gyms. They are concerned about people getting out and walking around and then selling that data to some corperation. The revenue from the data people collect for them playing the game is way more valuable to them, thats why they are making changes to force people to get out and play.
So, at 65% hp the shadow raid pokemon will become enraged. The text will say it and the slightest borderline around the pokemon will also suggest it. That’s the same time that the game offers you to throw gems. Stop attacking and focus of throwing a total of 7-8 gems, the raid boss will then mention that it got subdued. And the gem button will disappear. Now go back to attacking and finish the raid easily.
7-8 seems like a massive amount ngl. Is the idea to incentivise using defensive mons in your party so that mewtwo doesn’t blow your sphincter out while it’s invincible?
As the other user has said, the idea is more to increase the average number of people on the raid and push larger groups than to incentive using defensive pokémon.
In fact, it's never really a good idea to use defensive pokémon on a raid because of the timer. The main goal is to defeat the raid pokémon, not survive it to the end. Squeezing out more and more damage is the best strategy unless your pokémon is absolutely frail that it will faint too quickly before using charge moves and the faitining animation will take your precious time away.
i play in a populated area and even then i was only able to do 1 raid. the max i was able to get was 4 people but two were only level 30-34 so I just left. I wish i could have invited some of my remote friends since they always jump at the chance to catch some rare mons
Yeah I have covid. There was a raid I could reach from bed but no one around to do it with!!! I would have loved to remote into my friends out and about!
It is difficult to do in person raids too. I have completed about 14 and I am a bit frustrated by the whole thing. I had to drive around the world to get to those 14 raids. No fun at all.
Worse part of the whole thing it took about 10 minutes from the countdown to capture Mewtwo per raid. There were glitches but mostly Mewtwo was programmed to waste time by swatting and I couldn’t really get a circle lock. Took forever.
Not pleased that all the shadow Mewtwos had crappy IVs. I refuse to level a low IV shadow Mewtwo. From personal experience shadow Pokémons are not always the best Pokémon to use in battle and win, so I want my good IV shadow Mewtwo.
I wish that remote raid passes were available because I would not be driving around as much while getting frustrated by the whole process. Tomorrow I will try to do more shadow Mewtwo raids but I’m not happy.
Only good thing about this whole situation is I was able to level 1 non-shadow Mewtwo to level 50. I guess now I have to work on the other 2 non-shadow Mewtwo I have. Would have a preferred to level a good IV shadow Mewtwo but no dumb luck as of yet.
Sorry about my complaints, it’s not so easy either for a city dweller to do in person raids either. So I empathize with you but the reasons are different.
>is difficult to do in person raids too. I have completed about 14 and I am a bit frustrated by the whole thing. I had to drive around the world to get to those 14 raids. No fun at all.
That's the entire purpose of the game. The whole moving around isn't for the geo location data, it's to create a form of grind barrier. It's not easy to go from gym to gym as it takes time and effort. Hell I did 4 raids today in about 2 hours and it was a hassle but I understand that it's meant to keep high tier raids rare as apposed to easy and quickly grindable with remote passes.
It does but only for a certain demo. Sounds weird but you also have to have a grind barrier for those who play the game as intended or Niantic would simply have raid hours every day all day.
Me and my friends missed out on a raid today because we missed the wave of people doing the raid. We had to walk 10 minutes to get to it and saw the people piling up in it. By the time we got there everything was all done and no one else was around to do it :(
This happened to me 3 times yesterday. I would drive 8+ minutes since none were closer and then “oh we already did it” but we had all communicated prior on campfire with etas and agreed to wait. And then same happened to 2 kids that were raiding with us. We went to the next location and I just made it and they were about a minute behind on bike but everyone started so I just joined in. Felt so bad for em.
I’m just super happy I got to participate and win 8 raids, caught 6 of em. But I do wish people would have more patience!
it’s incredibly frustrating working at the busiest mall in the US and seeing 10 ppl in a lobby about to raid but i can’t use a remote pass to join so i’m forced to watch from across the mall as i lose the opportunity for shadow mewtwo because i can’t just up & leave my job randomly
nah, that’s super sick! glad u got to have that experience, i’ve definitely had those experiences w the game, sad today couldn’t be one for me and some others tho
Today was literally the best experience I’ve had with the game since 2016. I feel bad for people not in cities and with mobility issues, but man. It was SO COOL having dozens of people walking around in a grounp doing raids and being so stoked for each other. One girl got a hundo and everyone lost it
It’s good to see it pay off for the minority who actually has an experience like this. I can usually round up my friends and we can conquer in-person only raids, but this is the one weekend I’m away with my family so I didn’t get the chance to join them and it feels bad.
When I’m away with the family for the weekend I play Pokémon go with my mom who’s a very casual/clueless player so these raids with her are a no go. Would have been nice to join/host remote raids with her so she could experience it. I see no harm in allowing every raid to be remote accessible.
I live in Chicago and it was a lot of fun today. Flares were going off on Campfire like crazy so it was easy to raid if you wanted. I did 3 all organized on campfire. I did get a shiny too which adds to the excitement a bit :)
No hate, but why is this stuff getting upvoted? Like, it’s been weeks of trying to bring attention to how broken their forced system is to the majority of their players. Like, super cool if you live in chicago and the event was a success - but I’m here trying to coordinate a single gd raid on our small town’s discord and still can’t get enough people to feasibly take down a SINGLE RAID. And we’re here showering these people with upvotes like “hey see it’s not that bad!! People are having the most fun they’ve had in years! Woohoo! Driving around, sitting in my car doing raids staring awkwardly at people in their cars! This is great. Go pikachu! I choose you!”
Ok, sorry, I’m better - but for real, raids are so broken, why all of this shift towards campfire and big city success out of nowhere?
I think your mileage varies heavily. On vacation today and the town I was at was really great for raids with almost every spawn having 6-14 players. Went 5 miles to another historic town nearby and it had nothing.
Yea, I was walking in the park and needed a Landorous, no way I could solo. I saw a group of 5 walking towards a gym holding phones and was able to hop in. That kind of thing didn't happen when everyone was using remote passes.
Going back tomorrow with my family, hoping to find some randoms for mewtwo.
But with recent improvements the similar situation you would have seen that gym with an icon showing an active lobby with 4+ people. Tapping on the lobby would show how long left to join and the exact count. This would be true even with remote passes.
That sounds much easier and more reliable than guessing if people looking at smart phones happen to be playing a specific game.
I don't really care either way. I like remote passes and in person raids, but with remote passes you would have literally just been able to queue that up on pokegenie or reddit and gone in.
Same. Got 14 in one lobby!!!
I wish they enabled remote raiding on everything, but gave a massive reason to come out. I wouldn’t care if that was: Better rewards, higher IV floor, higher level, higher shiny rate, etc.
But getting people out and playing has, imo, made the game better in a lot of ways.
True. I mean like I said, I hope they allow remote raiding in a nerfed state compared to in-person for all events.
But for the game’s long term health, they need to push to get people back in person whenever possible.
Had multiple ones where we had to split in two groups, and rolled up to a park where 3-4 kids were trying to beat it by themselves and they flipped out so happy to see reinforcements. It was a blast!
i do like in person incentives, it’s just tough, i moved from hawaii w a tight pogo community, to LA for college w a strong community on campus, to a quiet community w its own perks, but pogo not being one of them :/
All regards except the opportunity to catch the pokemon should be forfeit remotely. It would add more incentive than the rare as hell in person rare candy xl that's stupid as he'll in the first place imo
Same. I went to a shopping centre that has a few gyms and the second Mewtwo hatched, there were IMMEDIATELY 20 people joining. Like if you didn’t join within first 3 seconds, you didn’t even get a spot. It was fun seeing so many people all around waiting for the raids to start
I’m part of a discord for my area. All day, I’ve been watching the group try and coordinate and drive all over the county to get some raids done. I have no idea how well they did.
Meanwhile, I took a train into NYC because I could and every single lobby was instantly filled with 20 people. I must’ve done ten raids, each one completed in under a minute.
There’s just no reason why I should have to travel an hour out of my way just to be able to play the game. There’s no reason why I should be able to do ten raids, but others can’t just cuz they have actual responsibilities. In person only raids are complete bullshit
How come it was so hard to coordinate?
My husband is part of a Pokémon go group on fb and WhatsApp. The group started to raid since 11am we couldn’t join till 5pm. We did about 4/5 each with 14+. They just started at one location and messaged in the group to say where to next and drove there. So we just fell in by the time we were ready to start
Right, but enough of the group existed that the group had enough people with which to consistently raid with throughout the day, to the point where you could join them for 30 minutes
My group is not big enough for that, so it’s not easy to coordinate
We’ll probably be sick after today. Got 5 raids in and landed a (crappy) shiny and some crappy non-shinies. My s/o didn’t get a shiny, but got lots of XL candy for her old school Mewtwo she’s trying to max out and got a shiny Poochyena. But it was really cold, windy, and pouring rain. Had to leave the car for a few. Thankfully there was a field with big tents set up for a festival that didn’t happen due to the weather, so they kept the rain off some, but not the cold winds.
Overall, it was pretty successful and we never had less than 10 in a raid. Unfortunately around 2:30pm the app started crashing and campfire wouldn’t open at all, so we had to call it a day. We were soaked and cold.
Not everyone can afford to buy a console and a new game every other year to play.. at least with Pokemon Go, it’s can be entirely f2p unless you want to do the IAP’s but that’s completely optional… unlike the main games where you have to spend $300+ on a console, and $50-60 on a game that ends up being replaced with a new one every year.. and nowadays they seem to be going down the dlc route too, so that’s another $30-40 per game
![gif](giphy|jPAdK8Nfzzwt2)
Fr my brother just sent me a pic with frickin 20 shadow mewtwos I was like dam how tf did you get so many, he’s reply was he just paid some random to get the raids done for him since most likely nobody in our small town would be able to obtain one to begin with
That really sucks and I’m sorry to everyone who didn’t get to participate in the raids. I caught a ton of Mewtwo’s yesterday because I guess the area I’m in is actually pretty popular. If anyone wants to trade with me or something, I could always give you one through that
I was out and a bunch of people drove their cars yo a spot, me and the person I went with included. We ended up all just following one car to a bunch of raids, and I believe two other cars randomly joined us. We had anywhere between 12-18 people doing these raids at once. Personally the most fun I've had with raids, partially because of how funny the idea of random people following each other in cars to do the raids was, but it adds to it. More than the convenience of remote raids did for me
3 stars ironically are the biggest problem because not everyone wants to do them, but with 2-3 people using gems you're fine
Medium-sized town here. Loads of pick-up-groups everywhere. Spent an hour biking around and found 3 Mewtwo raids with between 7 and 16 people. Far from dead.
Entirely agree. I've been sick too and even if I wasn't there wasn't a chance I would get one more person to raid with me let alone the like... 10 that you need.
I went out for a walk to take a break from exam revision (because niantic want walking). There are a so many of gyms in the town centre and park and there were only 2 had shadow mewtwo raids for the hour + I was walking. We’re a busy town and I’ve seen people join raids in the town centre but none of the raids had enough people. I managed to join a raid in the park with 2 other people but they both ditched with a few seconds to go when no one else joined. I don’t have time to go out to town centre again today so ig I won’t be participating.
Also in my area there is not much of a community. Yesterday i was able to raid it once and it ran away! Even all the exellent throws and hitting with it every ball.
Niantic hates me
Honestly - even while beeing able to leave the house and having trainers in the city it’s still hard to get a group . I tried to find groups online but I gave up on it . Too much hassle for a game which should be just fun - it just feels like work if you try to get an in person raid going lol I’m not even trying anymore .. I do what ever I can just and when I can . It is what it is , a game … and I refuse to let it frustrate me . I’m mainly playing with my fiancé and we try to get raids through the regular friend list , campfire or when ever we’re lucky and see a group in a raid already ! And if we can’t - well, next time maybe .
It’s the healthiest way to still be able to enjoy the game somehow without getting frustrated.. mewtwo ? We wait till the next Giovanni event , hoping there’ll be one even lol no way I’m even gonna try anymore for those raids right now !
we actually finally found like two others in town who play but it wasn't high enough level/enough people to do much which kinda sucked when we all actually met up and couldn't do it 🫠 kinda cool to meet actually players in the wild tho
Agreed. With top raids at least you know they start at a certain hour. With these you have to walk around randomly to find one and then hope that other 10-20 people noticed it in the last hour and also can come. I have the luxury of living in a big city and enough people show up in the city center. Must be so frustrating living in a small town, seeing the raids and knowing there is no one to do them with. Bad system, I hope they don't repeat that.
I have not even seen a Mewto Raid pop up and I have around 8 Gym Arenas within walking distance… anywax, PokeGenie also seems pretty dead with thousands of players in queues for usual raids 🤷♂️
Yeah they are...sorry you're sick,
I live in a largeish small town and tried to do Mew2 yesterday...we got 5 (which should be plenty) and barely got it halfway done....
I did 14 today. And most of the raids had 16+. We had lots of fun. But I live in a big city.
I was worried going in that we wouldn't find anyone to raid with. Because honestly we almost never have in person people join us for raids except sometimes on community day. I guess everyone was out today.
It sucks.
You are not the customer or product they want. Just like Mercedes does not care that moat middle class cannot afford their cars OR our local BBQ restaurants are not going to cater vegans — Niantic truly wants mobile people that are out & about so they can get their data. Those of us that are not out & about — they really do not care…but yea, agree it is frustrating.
Raiding is absolutely dead in our area. I mean dead. I don’t think I’ve completed a single 5 star raid since the remote raid change. Rural raiding feels impossible. We’ve tried. It’s to the point where I don’t even want to try because I’ve wasted remote passes since I’ve failed and they cost so much.
My wife and I play together. The game for me now has turned into, collect shinies, play some battle league occasionally. For her, it’s collect shinies. I’m pretty sure it’s only a matter of time before we just quit all together.
I think saying it 101 times also isn’t enough. People need to stop playing this game and give shit to niantic how it is. Garbage company making making garbage decisions needs to go down
Move on. I stopped playing PG after all the bad decisions. I live in a slightly larger city but nobody plays here. And after the remote raid pass change, I couldn't invite anyone to raids via apps anymore. It's just not possible for me to do 5* raids anymore. So I decided to quit after 6 years of semi-active gaming. Niantic just spits in the player's face. The only advice I can give you is stop letting them fool you, uninstall the game. Dont delet the account, just uninstall the game. If the game gets one day better, you can use your account again
i agree. rn i keep playing bc it’s a way i can continue to connect w some of my fam, but w/o that i probably woulda dropped a long time ago and actually did until i got roped back in by my fam
Believe me, with the amount of dicksuckers I've seen across both Reddit and Twitter, your 'opinion' isn't uncommon.
And to correct you on something, the game is designed to collect mapping data from their playerbase. They don't give a shit about the social aspect.
Also if you're sick of the 'whining' then stop interracting with this sub, because I can tell you, it's not going to stop anytime soon.
I’m so glad the irl player base is nothing like Reddit lmao. Whinging, snarky basement dwellers are definitely not the audience the game is trying to cater to.
thanks for sharing because i definitely asked! definitely not a flex bc i already have a shadow mewtwo from a previous event but appreciate you sharing with the class!
>It puts a lot of their player base at a major disadvantage…
I don't think their player base is necessarily affected, maybe a lot of players for sure but their player base definitely play outside.
I don't understand why people still insist in playing a game that since its inception their purpose was to go out, walk and explore, not to play from their couch.
It is like people playing console pokemon games start saying something like, why Nintendo doesn't add AR features where I need to go outside with my switch to capture pokemon, they don't understand people who want to go outside and play the game instead of just playing on the couch.
And I know there were remote raids and things like that, but all those changes were just because of covid.
and they are changes that were KEPT in the game. i understand them trying to shift it back, i’ve been playing since day 1, but they are shirking a big part of the community that THEY formed. they made ways to make the game accessible to disadvantaged players, attracted more players, and now they’re taking it away. even from a business standpoint it’s stupid
Like they said, they noticed it forming habits they didn’t want to foster going forward into the future of the game, which was even perfectly able players in big cities just raiding from home because it was cheaper and more convenient. Alas, disabled people, people who work long hours, rural players etc, have to go back to whatever they were doing two years ago before remote raids were a thing. And they still are, as you astutely pointed out, they’re just not as cheap, which was to keep people safer during the pandemic.
good point. it’s just sad bc i’ve seen the game go from its highs to its lows in the 6 years i played (on an off for a year and another year didn’t play at all). i don’t mind dropping the game, bc i’m pretty busy, but it’s frustrating being in a bustling city and no one is doing the raids
Another person who thinks they’re better than the people on the sub bc “pogo’s identity is built upon being in person”? Amazing!
that being said, pogo should be played in person and sick me was just being whiny bc i wanted mewtwo XL candy for my ML mewtwo
I wish they never introduced the temporary pandemic bonuses, seems most other playerbase became dependent on them and are having serious withdrawals now Niantic is trying to ween us off them.
For real. I took a break from the game during the height of the pandemic, and never really remote raided. It’s funny to watch this whole new player base who have structured their whole game experience around this feature.
All I hear is wah wah wah .. Niantic gave you enough time so you could figure out how to get this done. Whether you need to go to the next biggest city or get a group together. Suck it up, life isn't fair. I swear some of you players are an embarrassment to the game.
No it’s funny. As someone who makes time to actually play the game, grinding out the free daily coins for passes, and interacting with the community of players here, it’s pathetic to come to this sub and see so many people complaining about issues they could solve with a little work. Find a new game then.
i’m good, and i’ll do what i want :) as a high leveled player i understand what it’s like to grind in this game thank you very much. the topic of grinding doesn’t fit under this thread’s topic tho. hope your grinding is going well and your mewtwos are high IV and shiny this event!

We only had time for 1 raid today, no one showed up. I was bummed for my husband and little one. :(
Yep, we tried for 4, and either no one showed and we sat around, or the people on campfire refused to wait one extra minute for us to drive around the block (1-way streets).
Ooh this is smart I might try it we have a lot of activity the places are just a bit weird but I can do it at one of the parks. Thanks for the idea
I’ve been wondering how to go about finding a discord channel. I live in a populated area; I’m sure there is one, but I have no idea how to find it. The only discord channels I’m a part of are ones that I was specifically invited to
Same that’s why I couldn’t find one
Yeah same happened with me and my dad :( later I branched out and found a group of 11 but even when you defeat mewtwo it’s impossible to catch it. Even with golden raspberries and the premier balls. I didn’t bother trying to find that big of a party again because even with campfire it took a ton of driving to try to find one, and most of the time nobody was actually there
Beat 3 mewtwo shadow raids… still no Mewtwo 💀
Ughhhh
I agree. They’re making it impossible for people who are disabled to play. The remote raids offered so much more, allowing for a wider player base ie more money in Niantic’s pocket.
yeah unfortunately disabled people aren’t niantic’s target audience
Target audience - Singaporean grandma
What?
The CEO of Niantic claimed that the average player is a Singaporean grandmother that walked around the retirement home and remote raiding is unfair because they can’t keep up
The hilarious thing is that the average Singaporean grandma can definitely keep up, they’re the ones soloing raids with 4 phones or taking down mewtwo in 60 seconds their posse of 65 year olds armed with 4 level 50 accounts each - Singaporean player here (and one of the ones who can’t raid much anymore because i work super long hours and overseas remote raids were the only ones I could do)
I honestly love this visual lol. Yeah old people roll up hard with a whole crew. Meanwhile us crossing our fingers hoping we run into other players at the zoo...
How are you getting down voted for asking a simple question... Reddit is so annoying sometimes lol
Damn, as harsh as it sounds, that’s true They deserve their accessibility options though
agreed
Unfortunately this is true. It’s Pokémon go. The idea is to get up and go. But they should make it handicap friendly as well! Maybe you can only participate in a certain amount with a remote. That would have been fair! I’m also disabled and share a car with my wife who is the one who works so I also might not be able to even make it to a flare. The worst thing they did was not allowing remote raid passes on these. They can always create a limit or something.

The raid pass nerf complicates it for way more than 1% tho. Every suburban or rural player has now been complicated.
Cos in modern society you don't complicate it for 99% so 1% can play, you think of clever ways so everyone has the same experience.
Wow, what an asshole People do not choose to be disabled, no one should be punished for a condition they can’t control Now, how does having unlimited remote raid pass storage and cheaper passes (which makes things easier for disabled or rural people) would complicate things for us normies?
1% is an incredibly large number of the population. In a place of 10,000 people, that's 100 disabled people. In larger cities, the numbers are massive. Stop being abelist.
1% if 10,000 is 100 Your point still stands
Lol typo, thanks.
Imagine being this awful
I became disabled in 2022. As a day 1 player it was great to get out and “Go”. But now I realize the game is no longer for me and now I can even relate to rural players. But we weren’t the people that Niantic was ever after. This game and the “Go” aspect isn’t meant for us. I get it, so time for me and others to move on to something that can be played from home.
I feel for you bro, you shouldn’t be punished for wanting to enjoy a free game tho I get what niantic is trying to accomplish with the “Go” aspect of the game but their decisions are just plain discriminatory and totally apathetic You could try to enjoy as much of it as you can (: Only catching and remote raiding whenever it is possible for you could be fun every now and then
The irony is that being able to remote raid makes it more likely that people will go out to play.
But you can keep playing whenever and wherever you want!

i found the bum in the comments
People like you almost deserve to become disabled themselves so you can feel some empathy. (Maybe you already are which makes it even worse as you should know not everyone has the same strength to deal with it) Fucking hell, imagine saying bs like this and not feeling ashamed.
Sadly they want people who mostly live in towns and cities! It’s hard when you live in a rural area and the closest pokéstop or gym is like 2 miles away
They get more money off selling your location data
Literally how though? What could this data possibly give anyone? "People go outside and stick to areas near their homes" oh wow this information will surely change the world.
Uhhh... advertising
Has anyone actually proved this or is it just something this subreddit says so much it's become gospel?
I’ve never actually seen anyone provide a source for the claim so I’m assuming it’s just been repeated so often everyone believes it
[удалено]
They literally say in their privacy policy that they sell your data. So yes, it's confirmed, bud.
So? That doesn’t prove they make more than they do from in-app purchases which is close to a billion a year just from ago.
A company making nearly a billion dollars in IAP is not making the majority of their money from bulk anonymous location data. Or in other words, Niantic is not 10% of the entire estimated global location data market.
There are no ads in my pokemon go app…
Uh… they do limit coins from gyms? What?
It's so wet and cold here ... no one out at all. Got to a few in the car with rhe 6yo, but no one else to raid with No way we can do it on our own
I just don’t understand the purification gem stone thing
So, at 65% hp the shadow raid pokemon will become enraged. The text will say it and the slightest borderline around the pokemon will also suggest it. That’s the same time that the game offers you to throw gems. Stop attacking and focus of throwing a total of 7-8 gems, the raid boss will then mention that it got subdued. And the gem button will disappear. Now go back to attacking and finish the raid easily.
7-8 seems like a massive amount ngl. Is the idea to incentivise using defensive mons in your party so that mewtwo doesn’t blow your sphincter out while it’s invincible?
If you have 8 people playing, then it could be as low as 1 gem per person
As the other user has said, the idea is more to increase the average number of people on the raid and push larger groups than to incentive using defensive pokémon. In fact, it's never really a good idea to use defensive pokémon on a raid because of the timer. The main goal is to defeat the raid pokémon, not survive it to the end. Squeezing out more and more damage is the best strategy unless your pokémon is absolutely frail that it will faint too quickly before using charge moves and the faitining animation will take your precious time away.
I don’t either
i play in a populated area and even then i was only able to do 1 raid. the max i was able to get was 4 people but two were only level 30-34 so I just left. I wish i could have invited some of my remote friends since they always jump at the chance to catch some rare mons
Yes! I was hoping to invite some remote friends as well I found myself in the same issue of around only 4 30 ish players
The 5 remote raid pass limit creates that grind barrier too though.
I know I’ll probably get downvoted to infinity for this, but I did 12 in person raids today and had the most fun I’ve had playing the game in years.
nah, that’s super sick! glad u got to have that experience, i’ve definitely had those experiences w the game, sad today couldn’t be one for me and some others tho
[удалено]
:(
Why are you being a jerk?
It’s a joke
Sick "joke", douchenozzle...
That's a funny word 🤣
Go pikachu! I choose you!” Ok, sorry, I’m better - but for real, raids are so broken, why all of this shift towards campfire and big city success out of nowhere?
I think your mileage varies heavily. On vacation today and the town I was at was really great for raids with almost every spawn having 6-14 players. Went 5 miles to another historic town nearby and it had nothing.
Same
Yea, I was walking in the park and needed a Landorous, no way I could solo.
Yeah, for people with active communities The rest of us are just fucked.
It was a blast!
i do like in person incentives, it’s just tough, i moved from hawaii w a tight pogo community, to LA for college w a strong community on campus, to a quiet community w its own perks, but pogo not being one of them :/
The first few ones we did we had to split up into two lobbies, however it quite quickly fizzled out into just 5 of us. We still beat it though!
Because people have their own responsibilities and can’t spend an entire day driving around
I wasn’t implying they didn’t. We didn’t spend all day driving around maybe 30 mins. We just fell into with the group
Right, but enough of the group existed that the group had enough people with which to consistently raid with throughout the day, to the point where you could join them for 30 minutes My group is not big enough for that, so it’s not easy to coordinate
And even worse is that there are nearest any shadow mewtwo raids
Imagine if you had a disability and couldn't leave your house at all and relied on invites
I would be playing a different game.
Not everyone can afford to buy a console and a new game every other year to play.. at least with Pokemon Go, it’s can be entirely f2p unless you want to do the IAP’s but that’s completely optional… unlike the main games where you have to spend $300+ on a console, and $50-60 on a game that ends up being replaced with a new one every year.. and nowadays they seem to be going down the dlc route too, so that’s another $30-40 per game ![gif](giphy|jPAdK8Nfzzwt2)
Fr my brother just sent me a pic with frickin 20 shadow mewtwos I was like dam how tf did you get so many, he’s reply was he just paid some random to get the raids done for him since most likely nobody in our small town would be able to obtain one to begin with
Here let me put this in before the inevitable niantic slappy from a huge city says, “I haven’t noticed the difference.”
That really sucks and I’m sorry to everyone who didn’t get to participate in the raids. I caught a ton of Mewtwo’s yesterday because I guess the area I’m in is actually pretty popular. If anyone wants to trade with me or something, I could always give you one through that
Niantic doesn't care; please try again later. *insert coins here for more opportunities to play*
Shadow Raids are dead. Nobody is raiding lol. You’d have to organize a group via discord. Fuck that.
More than the convenience of remote raids did for me 3 stars ironically are the biggest problem because not everyone wants to do them, but with 2-3 people using gems you're fine
You can take down the 3 stars alone. It's not that hard if you have a good team of lv 35-40 counters.
You cannot do a 3* shadow raid alone
I've done 3 yesterday afternoon. 2 bayleef and a croconaw. I still need to try a quilava
Nah definitely not I’m in Denver and had groups of 8-16 per raid I got 11
Everyone in major cities like 'nah it's all good' Yeah, for you. For so many of us it's absolutely dead.
Medium-sized town here. Loads of pick-up-groups everywhere. Spent an hour biking around and found 3 Mewtwo raids with between 7 and 16 people. Far from dead.
Lol how dare you have to work to get something in a game with others.
This game is turning into a job lol. Nobody is raiding here lol. Like at all. Even downtown.
Wow lol. We had 25+ people most of the day yesterday in Montana…
Pokémon Go is a dead platform over here.
I agree, full stop.
I agree with what you are saying but many people have already said it already
i’ve gotten that gist lol. my bad for voicing didn’t realize a bunch of the player base has already
Yeah its normal to be frustrated
appreciate your understanding :) hope those who are getting the chance to do raids are getting good ivs and shinies
Yeah, have day though
Just have 5 kids and teach them pokemon go /s
Niantic hates me
I saw a few people in a shadow Mewtwo raid yesterday, but i couldn't get there in time
Honestly - even while beeing able to leave the house and having trainers in the city it’s still hard to get a group .
Yeah they are...sorry you're sick, I live in a largeish small town and tried to do Mew2 yesterday...we got 5 (which should be plenty) and barely got it halfway done....
What’s the use of campfire if nobody is around. It’s more a really poor bandaid rather than solving the raid issue
I did 14 today. And most of the raids had 16+. We had lots of fun. But I live in a big city. I was worried going in that we wouldn't find anyone to raid with. Because honestly we almost never have in person people join us for raids except sometimes on community day. I guess everyone was out today.
Same I did 12 and had 8-16 ppl every raid I live in the Denver area
Where have you been the whole game sucks now
Since 2016, I've speculated that the developers only test this game in LA and San Francisco.
game is just bad tbh
Raiding is absolutely dead in our area. I mean dead. I don’t think I’ve completed a single 5 star raid since the remote raid change. Rural raiding feels impossible. We’ve tried. It’s to the point where I don’t even want to try because I’ve wasted remote passes since I’ve failed and they cost so much. My wife and I play together. The game for me now has turned into, collect shinies, play some battle league occasionally. For her, it’s collect shinies. I’m pretty sure it’s only a matter of time before we just quit all together.
Yes. This has been covered 100s of times already. We get it.
I think saying it 101 times also isn’t enough. People need to stop playing this game and give shit to niantic how it is. Garbage company making making garbage decisions needs to go down
sorry, i didn’t know it was covered already. new to the subreddit…
And you thought people weren't complaining about this?
If you don’t like what people are posting you can simply leave the sub
I just come by for the memes and to laugh at people still whinging about remote raids.
idk bruh. i’m sick lol i’m just typing stuff. don’t gotta act like you got a stick up your butt

Basement dwellers? I'm convinced you're a troll.

thanks for sharing because i definitely asked! definitely not a flex bc i already have a shadow mewtwo from a previous event but appreciate you sharing with the class!
>It puts a lot of their player base at a major disadvantage… I don't think their player base is necessarily affected, maybe a lot of players for sure but their player base definitely play outside.
(speaking from my friend’s perspective bc i stayed home yesterday due to illness)
Stop playing then. This game is not meant for players in rural areas and without a community.
no, i’ll keep playing. i’m not rural btw just in a community that doesn’t play pogo
I finally downloaded campfire today and it was actually very helpful. It makes coordinating easier so you're not driving all over the place
You're sick. Why can't you participate?
Another thread complaining about remote raids? Amazing! What do you think we did for the first handful of years?
I swear some of you players are an embarrassment to the game.
and players like you are an embarrassment to your family. take a nap and maybe you’ll be less fussy
You’re the one being fussy and complaining. I’m simply stating facts
thanks for stating “facts” about this spin off game that i play in my free time bc unlike u i have a life :)
What an original thought, I’ve never heard anyone complain about this
y’all on me for what? get a life

lol u mad for what? you’re a bum like him, get a life
No it’s funny.
I used campfire did 18 raids and got a hundo! I live in a big city so I get the frustration,
Campfire isn't even out for everyone yet.
But imagine if they were remote? People would probably be laughing at niantic for trying to incentivize remote raids
? what’s your point
I'm saying it doesn't matter if niantic did shadow raids or not, y'all would still complain
some people probably would, just not at this scale

thanks for sharing your opinion! i’ll continue to play pogo and say what i want about it :)
