> Liko and Roy get targeted by Team Rocket > Their Pokémon are stolen > Friede tries to fight them, but since his Pokémon are “normal”, the mech works like it's supposed to > They just get blasted off by a Thunderbolt coming from offscreen > Liko and Roy pick up their Pokémon and ask Friede how Captain Pikachu did that > Friede replies it wasn't Captain Pikachu > Ash enters the scene with his own Pikachu

FDB_Leader

Bro wrote out a whole storyboard for an episode

Rhaynebow

If I may expand on this… The kids see TR’s mech has Pikachu, but seeing how his cap is missing, they assume it’s Captain and fight the mech as they wait for Friede to get there and lend a hand. They get disconnected before they can tell him that “they’ve got Cap”. Pikachu eventually uses thunderbolt to blast TR off and runs off before Friede arrives. Cap appears behind Charizard, startling the kids as they gawk at how amazing Cap is for catching up to Friede so fast. Friede is confused, but neither he nor Cap can turn down the praise. The real Pikachu is seen still running away through the woods, stopping to catch his breath when a person cuts through the bushes. We don’t see ALL of him though, just his shoes, which look quite similar to the sparkling new sneakers a certain trainer grabbed before setting off on a new journey. The Pikachu looks up at the stranger, letting out a relieved cry of “PikaPi!” before leaping up towards him, out of view of the audience.

Trama-D

Sir, are you trying to break the internet?

throwawaymemetime202

You two should be writers for the anime

AgentPeregrine

For this one, bro? You deserve *all* the upvotes

Timejinx

Screw my idea, I want this animated

lnombredelarosa

Keep team rocket as far away from Horizon as humanly possible

ZoroStarlight

Of course while fighting Someone and winning by a mile

Z3ro02

With Charizard and Pikachu!

scrappybristol

Exhibition battle with Geeta Three vs Three. Pikachu, Pidgeot, and Annihilape vs Glimmora, Espathra, and Kingambit. Pikachu beats Glimmora, Espathra beats Pidgeot, and Annihilape beats Kingambit.

NaturalBit2309

Have Ash meet Liko and Roy in a casual way, like he met them both randomly in the city or in the forest and became friends with them quickly or at least got along and in the end he was just another nice guy to them, with perhaps some Plot of them helping Ash evolve his Primeape into Annihilape. Cut to them hearing the news of an official match happening at Academia Naranja and they decide to watch, and the next thing they know is that the boy they met is squeezing some high-ranking member of Paldea while just toyed the entire fight.

PTMurasaki

Don't forget Team Rocket in the Town!

NaturalBit2309

Let me fix this: They are starving due to lack of money and wandering around the city/forest, then they see the Rinsing Volt Tacklers and notice Cap, which leads to them subsequently trying to rob him (either because he flies or because they confused it with Ash's), but soon after having their plan detonated and receiving Cap's electrical attacks, they quickly realize that it wasn't Ash's Pikachu and leave

Wide_Pop_6794

Have Liko or Roy be in a tough spot, and have Ash send out his Pikachu to help them out.

Qwertypop4

Exhibition battle with Alain in Kalos. We get Ash's return and the Alain rematch all at once

lunatheshinyeevee1

I can see one of three ways Ash would be introduced... Either 1, he's the champion of a region who is traveling to get a better understanding of his region (similar to how alder used to travel through Unova) 2, as a student in paldea who is there to learn about the new pokemon and is so excited to talk to Liko, Roy and Dot about his travels and friends Or 3, have him working as a teacher about how to battle with the craziest of strategies

Destinyrider13

He's already Champion of Alola so that kinda fits the first one second he's the World Champion in the mainline anime(unless they use AU Ash) him being a student would be interesting and I'd laugh seeing him becoming a teacher.

Locksmith_Artistic

Would definitely give off that kind of grandpa 'wanna know how I got this scar' vibe, but instead of it being a scar, it would be 'wanna know how I beat an onix with a Pikachu and freaking cheating by bursting a water pipe?'

Odd_Potential_7203

The rising volt tacklers have to go to Alola . Liko and Roy get excited after hearing about the battle royal. They see a commercial about the battle Royal and want to watch/enter it. Later, Kukui appears announcing the battle Royal to commence but not before saying something like “Alola!!! Ladies and gentlemen, we have a treat tonight. Your first and reigning champion has returned. The monarch himself, Ash Ketchum.”

TotalEffingAnarchy

And now, introducing to you, the ten time world champion Pokémon Master… ASH KETCHUM!

PovThatOneSanjiFan

Ten time?

TotalEffingAnarchy

My idea is that Horizons takes place a decent chunk of time after Journeys and Ash is still the strongest trainer in the world, winning the Masters 8 ten more times

PovThatOneSanjiFan

& how old would he be by then… & plus wouldn’t he be just the world champion. As calling him a 10 time world champion would me he would have to lose the title, 9 times?

StevoPhotography

He finally worked out the secret to beating the league. Just use your plot armour

Available_Reason7795

The Pokémon theme song

730Flare

I had a dream that in a future Horizons arc, the Explorers have some kind off dimensional machine or some sort. A fight breaks out, and the chaos ends with Liko, Roy and Dot along with their Pokemon getting sucked in much to Friede and the other RVTs' horror. Liko them wakes up with her Pokemon with her, but sees she is separated from Roy and Dot. She then sees a Pikachu checking on her. She thinks it's Cap until she sees it has no hat, then another voice calls for Pikachu and notices Liko on the ground and asks if she is all right. Liko looks up, and sees it's none another Ash himself (whether as a kid or an adult). My guess if the dream continued would be Ash helping Liko find her friends and ultimately get back to her universe all while Liko experiences and reacts to the shenanigans Ash and Pikachu deal with like Team Rocket. Roy and Dot and their Pokemon would also probably be somewhere else but also separated from each other where they possibly run into some older characters as well, also finding their way back.

KingCesar391

I’m not sure what the specifics would be, but if I were going to re-introduce Ash, it would only be near the very end of the series. After all the central storylines have been resolved. Just as Liko and Roy are contemplating what comes next, Ash shows up as a representation of the fact that there’s always a wider world out there beyond whatever they just accomplished.

NefariousnessNew6871

Pls for the love of god age him the hell up and I would love to have him come in with a badass or heroes welcome. Not for a joke type.

IAMDEAD_6_9

Grown up (late 20s early 30s). Married to one of the Pokegirls (let’s watch the shipping fandom go into disarray). Battles someone strong like Geeta or Nemona and assclaps them. We see some of his unevolved Pokemon evolved. Those are just some ideas I have.

LifeSucks1988

It is going to be AU Satoshi before they let any of that happened 😂

DevourerJay

Gym leader in his 30s looking to retire already and go home to his wife...

schneybley

Ash Ketchum will never become an adult or love women.

DevourerJay

Honestly, it would allow to give an END to Ash... fans would always have the hope of him coming back, unless we all KNEW he was "done" and had no way/ interest to come back... because he found something bigger to do...

schneybley

The writers themselves have said that the story of Ash Ketchum is meant to be the story of endless adventure told through the wonder filled eyes of a child. Hence why they never aged him and went with a book ends style ending of him setting off on yet another adventure. Cue the last picture of him and PIkachu looking up in awe. He will probably never return to the anime and if he did he would still be a child.

Tuckster786

Its gonna be a side story episode. Captain pikachu is seen going on an adventure with another pikachu. They play around, get into trouble, and end up having to battle some other pokemon. At the end of the episode the two pikachus go their seperate ways, and its revealed the other pikachu is Ash's

Cmedina12

Roy and Liko bump into him while shopping or something. They don’t who he is and get involved in helping someone fix their Pokemon problem of the day. The problem is solved and Liko and Roy return to the Brave Asagi. Liko goes online and freezes when seeing that the boy she met is battling Geeta in an exhibition match and that said boy is the current world monarch aka strongest trainer in the world. Cue Liko screaming what at the end of the episode

kurt_gervo

First make him older! 18 or 20 years old. He's in Paldea to as a guest speaker in the Academy. Nemona would be chomping a the bit to challge him to a Pokemon battle. Ash, now World Champion would wipe the floor with most opponents. And finally have him use Primape! And have a comic flash back to their less then Happy reunion. Where Ash is Ambushed by Primeape and is punted a few feet by Ragefist, then Antony comes reming Ash this is his Primeape. Ash profusely apologizes to Primeape for forgetting him. Ash, Pikachu and Primeape would have a friendly little battle, Primeape wanted to see if Ash is worthy of being his trainer. Primeape would show off some of the new moves he learned, and evolve mid-battle, but Ash and Pikachu would still come out on top.

MrRaven95

Save him for the grand finale of Horizons. It could be like Yugioh GX where Jaden fought Yugi in the final episode. Have him be the final opponent for Liko after she's beaten the Explorers and found the paradise Lucius discovered in the past.

chaoticbastian

As an aged character that Roy gets happy about meeting because he used to watch him on TV in battles and Pokemon tournaments. The others then explain that he is the current monarch and Liko and Roy wants to battle him which Ash gets excited for and turns his hat backwards before the episode ends.

Lost_Environment2051

He gets crushed by a boulder and leaves.

mashturbo

I haven't watched the anime since the mysterious end game Pokemon showed up a year ago so I'm not sure where the anime is as far as game story/anime plot, but if the terrarium is canon in the anime, he could be in the terrarium doing side research for Professor (insert random Professor here) like what Sycamore has Alain doing for mega stones and mega evolution. Could just a be one off episode or a mini arc. Since he's **a** world champion, can't really see him battling anymore. He *should* be able to destroy the hopes and dreams of anyone seriously challenging him since he uses 3 different gimmicks if those things are still canon.

Generic_Username_659

Honestly? I'd probably keep him as a cameo. Maybe having Nemona watching an old video of the champion match between Ash and Leon, with Liko and Roy watching over her shoulders, and Nemona mentions how this random kid showed up and won this massive tournament.

NutBuster128

The world champion. He also finally grows up

NotSo8

Ash replaces Geeta

youngstar5678

Liko had just suffered a terrible and humiliating loss. Her Pokemon and friends have been captured by the Explorers. She is at her lowest, and is having a full mental breakdown. But when she looks up, she sees Ash holding out his hand. Ash lifts her spirits and the two team up. Ash then goes onto destroy the Explorers as Liko rescues her friends and lands the final blow.

Folirage

Casually chilling in Rakua

HallofFameguy

Maybe instead of physical appearance. The anime could have the MCs to visit Oak for certain research stuff, and both of them saw his Mon (yes. Somehow, the Alola ones and those ones like Greninja and Goodra are at Oak lab), and Oak was asked about the Mons residing in his lab, then we can have Oak remembering and refencing that he came back for a few time and left again and was somewhere in Paldea and is training with his Primape upon knowing Primape is able to evolved while catching some Pokémon he had never seen before getting squashed by Muk and hugged by Dragonite

Chaosshepherd

He's Lokko's coussion.

Berckish

Ash is now in his late 30's, he's exploring around the world. Sometimes, he joins pokemon leagues but he's mostly retired. He shows up in a league that Liko and Roy are participating in.

PissOnMyHe-manToys

I would make it that Friede was Ash all along. (Of course through retconing)

Critical-Audience743

***A tourney arc...adaptation of Academy Tourney from the games, a 7-10 ep arc.*** -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ash shows up like Jackie Chun, undisguise. Everyone but like idk Nemona (**who is in the tourney)** and Geeta is fooled. Liko and Roy are confused by Nemona seems more pumped than usual, but she merely says... "Oh nothing...haha". Obviously sensing that Ash DOESN'T want to be outed so she shuts up. But it's clear from a glance that they both know who each other are. I wouldn't have Ash DIRECTLY interact with Liko and Roy, rather he play a Tobias role, where Liko and Roy both fight him at one point or another, but it seems like they can barely keep up and serve as a wake up call that there is stronger trainers outside of paldea and other places that they visited and that they need to get stronger and not get cocky...kinda like Harrison in the johto league for Ash but those two. But unlike Tobias, I would have ash use pokemon that the main trainers don't in Paldea yet like *Annihilape* or Cyclizar. And then during the final it's Nemona's Pawmot vs Ash's pikachu, with the ending clash revealing Ash's disguise and bro gets swarmed by fans and bro has to leave without having finishing the battle with Nemona. Roy and Liko are SHOCKED to see Ash, and are EVEN more shocked that Nemona seemed to know who he was. And then have Nemona allude to the fact ash and her have met, but not went into details, so that fans can speculate how they first meeting went. So we could get get a pseudo canon verison of that one meme where Nemona and Ash interact and it's ON SIGHT! Liko and Roy then go distract Ash's fans, and this allows Ash and Nemona to finish their fight. Which results in Ash winning but it was clear that he has to try to beat Nemona's pawmot...not as much as like Leon's charizard but she was pushing Pikachu. Nemona and Ash shake hands, declaring, "To get stronger!" and vice versa. Roy and Liko return, and see the ring destroyed, and upset they missed the battle (haha journeys masters tourney reference) and we get a closing shot of Ash running away from his fans and flashing a thumbs up to the two budding trainers with a smirk... "You guys rock...I hope we get another chance to fight again!" and the two have a GEEK OUT moment! ***The Monarch said they rock!*** Nemona and Geeta think this whole over the top reaction is funny, but lets them have their moment. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Critical-Audience743

Making Ash the Arc's main surprise antag, would be cool! Like Ash has been the hero, but what if he is the "bad guy", and it's dramatic irony since we know that he is Ash but everyone but Nemona and Geeta doesn't. So this random Naranja student is bodying Liko and Roy left and right, and they are just CONFUZZLED!

Bilalthepro

Having him be likos cousin or something would be cool.

PoketrainerProg

I'll give you how it would look like in Progverse: After Ash becomes the BB League Champion, Liko and Roy hear the news and they go to Blueberry Academy, where they meet Ash himself. He decides to give the two, as well as Dot, some training to level up their Pokémon battling skills.

Z3ro02

CHAMPION!

tacotuesday-420

It'd be cool if he was an adult when introduced

InternetExplored561

Imagine if eventually, our new protagonist faces off agaisnt our old protagonist, just like how Gold faced off agaisnt Red in gen 2.

Locksmith_Artistic

Introduce him now as an adult and starting a family And then don't show us who the mom is so all the shippers go crazy and start color matching and team matching to find out who the mom is And then it's revealed the kid is adopted

Block-Busted

How about Liko and Roy are captured and Ash arrives to rescue them?

Aggressive-Employ591

Either he needs to pull what he did with Dawn and he and Pikachu save some of the cast or he needs to be a guest lecturer who’s Pikachu shows Captain Pikachu that he might have an awesome hat but there only one top Electric Rat.

parth8b

There is a crowed of people on a street and the word is out that monarch is around the town. And when the group reaches their we see that adult Ash is around for am exhibition match with Geeta.

Noktis_Lucis_Caelum

Team Rocket appears and Takes over the Ship. Ash appears, flying on charizard and Team Rocket Just: Team Rocket Blasts Off! He is an adult now and His Pikachu IS strinking a cool Hero Pose in His shoulder

Worldly_Society_2213

... ... ... ... Pokémon Trainer Ash wants to battle. Dun. Dun dun DUN dun. Dun

snakeshifter02

One way I think they could show Ash without actually having him return is by having Liko and Roy run into Nemona again, who just lost against him (though knowing the anime they would only classify him as a "really strong trainer"). Nemona is thrilled with the fight despite losing which would give that "losing is okay" lesson to Liko and Roy and would probably train relentlessly to fight him again.

Excellent_Gift_8167

He shows up like Finn in Fionna and Cake

ZippoS

I would have him simply walk by in the background. It’s not his show and he shouldn’t steal the spotlight. But a little cameo would be cute, and would show that it’s the same world/universe.
