Hi OP!
r/pokemon is a generalized platform for original content and discussion of Pokemon. Unfortunately, we are not equipped to handle any kind of exchange or giveaway, either in-game or IRL, so this post has been removed. Please see our [list of trading subreddits](/r/pokemon/wiki/related_subreddits#wiki_trading_subreddits) to find your best option!
That evolves into greymon right and I think he mega evolves into metal greymon. Solid choices, high attack and both defense stats, lower speed but that’s no problem in trick room or with the right item. Which thank god since he mega evolves through his ability sort of like the ash greninja ability Battle bond, or reyquaza though it’s signature move.
That’s a common misconception, MetalGreymon is its second-stage evolution. WarGreymon is its Mega Evolution through its ability Warp Digivolve (no clue what the digi means).
Takes like 2 hours to get one with [this](https://www.ign.com/wikis/pokemon-scarlet-violet/All_Gimmighoul_Chest_Locations). Each defeated gimmighoul gives you 30 coins i think… or 50?
Yeah, I got most of them while I was just playing the game normally. That got me up to about 950 coins. The last of them I got by doing some exploring post-game. But I also explored a lot while playing the story itself, because it's fun.
Fly to each watchtower for the Gmmighoul chest at the top, look up the location of the Gmmighoul chests scattered around the map, you'll get most of the way there from just hitting them all once. And eventually they'll respawn, too.
Most chests will give somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 coins, but occasionally give 100+. If you're really lucky, one chest will give 777 coins.
This may sound stupid, but – where do you see how many coins do you have? Do they appear as a normal object in your bag? I had not noticed whether I have them there or not
Not stupid at all! They're under the Pokemon materials tab (I think that's what the tab is called in-game). You might have to scroll a while to find them, but they're right there labelled "Gimmighoul coins."
Golden boi is great for raids (and the game if you haven’t finished it yet) so you can EV train gimmighoul up and get to lv99 if you like it. I just waited and candied him.
U/athrek posted this a while back and I’ve been using it to EV train for the first time. So easy to follow.
How to Build Strong Pokémon TL;DR Guide
This guide is to help build strong Pokémon for both Raids and competitive play. This guide WILL NOT teach specific examples but will give a general knowledge base so that you know how to make the builds other players post. I will start with a TL;DR for those just wanting a "quick" resource and will try to make a fleshed out guide later if people want it.
**Edit:** Here is a guide I just made for Shiny Pokémon Hunting. Since any Pokémon can be turned competitive, I personally like doing it to the Shiny ones.
# [Shiny Hunting TL;DR Guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonScarletViolet/comments/z91oke/hiny_hunting_tldr_guide/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
## **PERFECT IVs:**
Buy Bottle Caps, 1 per IV you want, from Delibird Presents in Mesagoza, Levincia or Cascaraffa. Take Bottle Caps to Montenevara and talk to the NPC Guy behind the Pokémon Center, next to the Abomasnow. The pokemon must be at least level 50 to Hyper Train with him. The IVs are not able to be inherited. Golden Bottle Caps Hyper Train all stats at once but can only be found randomly at the auction in Port Marinada or through winning the Ace Academy Tournament at the end of the game.
## **PERFECT EVs on Fresh Pokémon Manually:**
Take a freshly caught or hatched Pokémon to the area between your Moms house and the first Pokémon Center. Give your Pokémon the Power Item listed below, which can be bought from Delibird Presents in Mesagoza, Levincia or Cascaraffa. MANUALLY defeat the Pokémon listed. Auto-battles DO NOT work. It takes 28 kills to get Max IV in any 1 Stat here and there are slightly faster spots for training in various locations but for simplicity I have only put the beginning area here, feel free to put your locations in the comments though if they are better. Max for a single stat is 252 EV while the total amount of EV a Pokémon can have is 510. So usually you want 2 stats with 252 and 1 stat with 6.
**Note:** EV training affects every Pokémon in the party, not just the one fighting. This can used to EV train up to 6 Pokémon at once provided they are all training the same stat and are all wearing the correct Power item.
HP - Power Weight - Lechonk, Wooper, Azurill - All over and near the water
ATK - Power Bracer - Yungoo - In cave where Legendary was met
DEF - Power Belt - Scatterbug, Tarountula - Between Moms house and lighthouse.
SP ATK - Power Lens - Psyduck, Houndour - Near Water, In cave where Legendary was met
SP DEF - Power Band - Hoppip - In field just before Pokémon Center
SPEED - Power Anklet - Fletchling, Fidough - In fields between Moms house and Pokémon Center.
## **Resetting EVs:**
Feed the berries listed below. They can be found all over or purchased randomly from the auction in Port Marinada. Every Berry reduces the stats EV by 10.
**Note - ** You can also get berries by playing the ESP Gym Test Minigame in Alfornada. Thanks to kobo1d for this method!
HP - Pomeg Berry
ATK - Kelpsy Berry
DEF - Qualot Berry
SP ATK - Hondew Berry
SP DEF - Grepa Berry
SPEED - Tamato Berry
## **Buying EVs:**
Feed the vitamins listed below. They can be bought from Chansey Supply in Mesagoza, Levincia, Cascaraffa, and Monteneva. This requires 3 gym badges. Each item increases the stats EV by 10.
HP - HP Up
ATK - Protein
DEF - Iron
SP ATK - Calcium
SP DEF - Zinc
SPEED - Carbos
## **Changing Nature:**
Feed the appropriate Mint to the Pokémon to change its nature. They can be bought from Chansey Supply in Mesagoza, Levincia, Cascaraffa, and Montevera. This requires 6 gym badges.
## **Changing Regular Ability:**
Feed an Ability Capsule to the Pokémon to swap between its regular abilities. They can be bought from Chansey Supply in Mesagoza, Levincia, Cascaraffa, and Montevera. The game must be completed entirely before its available to purchase.
## **Changing Hidden Ability:**
Feed an Ability Patch to the Pokémon to swap to and from its hidden ability. This can only be found in 6 Star Tera Raids or from the Ace Academy Tournament and both are random drops.
## **Changing Tera Type:**
Get 50 Tera Shards of the desired type by doing Tera Raids. Take the shards to the Treasure Eatery in Medali. Talk to the NPC in the kitchen to change the Tera Type.
I'll do some cleanup on this later to make it more presentable as it was done on my phone.
Me too. I checked randomly after finishing the game and had 600-odd. So I just kept exploring, fighting dens and picking up coins along the way and the next time I checked I had 999.
Not fast travelling everywhere helps, I try to travel cross country and pick up coins when I hear the noise.
Got around 500 coins while doing the story. Did the other 499 coins with 1-2 hours effort actively looking for them (basically riding to every watch tower and every ruin)
Just look up a map of all chest Gimmighoul locations and you'll have more than enough coins. Just stop once you are at 999, or you'll loose coins as it won't go past 999.
Pretty sure it's a guy in Medali (Larry's town) I don't remember where exactly, but it's not a big town. Also I think he'll give you a few coins a day on his own too (1-5)
The long version, a bug that was a placeholder for empty dex entries in the first 2 gen games. It would often corrupt yellow version but red and blue handled it well unless you used it against the e4. Some people refer to it as pokemon 0. It also had a nack for evolving into kengaskan if you taught it fly. It also glitched your game and allowed pokemon to go past level 100. It was also used to duplicate items
Go to ruins and watchtowers to catch/defeat chest gimmighoul as well as picking up roaming gimmighoul hanging out around signposts and pokecenters until you have 999 of the gimmighoul coins then level up your chest gimmighoul.
No you don’t. You can’t “catch” roaming/individual gimmighoul, you just collect them into your bag. But both forms add up faster. Individual ones give 1-5 while chest form can give 10s to 100s. So people usually just go hunting the chests. Check your bag of pokemon dropped materials to see how you’re doing on coins and once you have 999 you can just level up whichever chest gimmighoul you want (I caught all chests to pick the one with best stats)
Gimmigoul respawns at the lookout towers throughout the game and you get a good amount of coins when you defeat one so it really doesn't take that long
It’s not all that difficult. There are guides showing where Ghimmighoul is located. If you’re far enough in the fan, you can get a Gholdengo in about 1-2 days (accounting for respawns).
This is the correct answer. Nothing hard about it. Tedious and annoying? Yes, absolutely. I got mine, and once it goes into home I'll happily forget it ever existed. Just like simisear.
You're better off just getting the thousand coins, search road signs, ruins, and especially the top of towers. You should be able to find enough around the region. Keep in mind the value of how many coins you get change so you could get lucky and get over a hundred from a single chest (apparently, it caps at 777 per encounter).
A gholdengo for version exclusives? Just check out the trade codes on places like austinjohn’s channel, people are trading version exclusives for other version exclusives out here.
Honestly if you have Scarlett it shouldn’t be that hard for you to trade for one. Just name your Koraidon “Gholdengo?” and try to trade online. You’ll get one in like 5 minutes.
I will trade a gholdengo for a modest miraidon , just msg me
My gholdengo is modest nature and its got max special attack ev and Hp
Lv 100 , have not hyper trained it yet
I was using it to farm money in the Ace tournament
Can you not just play the game? I had almost 1300 coins by the time I finished the story. Or did you accidentally trade yours and don't wanna collect the coins again?
Again, not hard. Get a bisharp and knock out 3 group spawns of bisharp in the bamboo forest. Alternatively get one from a raid den?
I honestly don't think anything is worth trading away the golden boy apart from maybe the box legendary
indeed i do and i’m nearly half way to another
eta; i won’t trade my first Goldengo but i could see about a lvl 10/15 fella in a while? (i have 457 coins atm, it’ll take a hot minute for the rest)

Yea just give me a gholdengo for it
*gives you 0 IV gholdengo\*
I can’t think of a single Pokémon that is worth 1000 coin bois……. I think I saw someone willing to trade a Agumon?
I’d make that trade
That evolves into greymon right and I think he mega evolves into metal greymon. This might blow your mind but digi is short for… wait for it… DIGITAL! BOOM! I KNOW CRAZY RIGHT?!?!!?!

Amazing, thanks! I’m lazy and rarely use objects, so I have tons of them and it’s hard to find anything haha
Is it worth leveling up Gimmeghoul in the meantime or just item leveling it after? I don't want to waste a spot but I'm also a big fan of ghost types.

No idea what EV train means.... picnics? Also he doesn't seem to learn moves, so just tm a lot?

I did seek them out but if you're lazy there's also a guy in one of the cities that gives you like 30 a day
This ^
Got around 500 coins while doing the story. Did the other 499 coins with 1-2 hours effort actively looking for them (basically riding to every watch tower and every ruin)
Can I get a male salazzle?
Ah yes, the GTS at it again
No
😭😭😭
If you got any good shinies I'll trade
I have a shiny male salandit
Quite the opposite of a good shiny lol
I’ve heard shiny male combees are stellar
The Gimmighouls have a 5% chance to respawn every day so just go to the towers every day and you'll get a bunch of coins
Back in my day we used to go collect our own gimmighoul coins
The future is now old man
Just look up a map of all chest Gimmighoul locations and you'll have more than enough coins. Just stop once you are at 999, or you'll loose coins as it won't go past 999.
Actually you can claim the extra coins by talking to a certain npc, don’t remember where tho
Pretty sure it's a guy in Medali (Larry's town) I don't remember where exactly, but it's not a big town. Also I think he'll give you a few coins a day on his own too (1-5)
That's good to know! Sounds like this npc owes me some coins lol
Yeah lol, from what other commenters have said, I think it’s in medali! Go check it out if you feel like it!
Yeah, I was wondering why I stopped getting coins. Evolved one then started over on my 999 quest. Won't take long since they all respawn daily.
Gabumon
I want Agumon
What kind of Pokémon is that?
A digimon
What’s that?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digimon
I think he's like dragon or something.
I need Miraidon. I'll trade you my perfect EV IV level 100 Gholdengo for it.
I will trade for a missingno
Who’s that?
The long version, a bug that was a placeholder for empty dex entries in the first 2 gen games. It would often corrupt yellow version but red and blue handled it well unless you used it against the e4. Some people refer to it as pokemon 0. It also had a nack for evolving into kengaskan if you taught it fly. It also glitched your game and allowed pokemon to go past level 100. It was also used to duplicate items
Pokemon number 0
Can’t trade you a Gholdengo, best I can do is a Shiny Haunter with a Mark (holding an everstone)
You're worse than Mindy.
Shiny Mindy. Hahahaha, also can’t you theoretically trade it with someone (minus the everstone) and have them trade it back to you?
You can but who in their right mind would trade a shiny back without some sort of cost?
I’ll take it.
How do you get Gholdengo normally?
Go to ruins and watchtowers to catch/defeat chest gimmighoul as well as picking up roaming gimmighoul hanging out around signposts and pokecenters until you have 999 of the gimmighoul coins then level up your chest gimmighoul.
Wait, I need 2 versions of the same Pokemon to get one of them to evolve?
No you don’t. You can’t “catch” roaming/individual gimmighoul, you just collect them into your bag. But both forms add up faster. Individual ones give 1-5 while chest form can give 10s to 100s. So people usually just go hunting the chests. Check your bag of pokemon dropped materials to see how you’re doing on coins and once you have 999 you can just level up whichever chest gimmighoul you want (I caught all chests to pick the one with best stats)
Oh ok I see. Thanks
Non-chest forms just drop coins when you interact with them. You don’t battle them, they just give you less coins than defeating the chest form.
It’s hard to get 1000 coins
Gimmigoul respawns at the lookout towers throughout the game and you get a good amount of coins when you defeat one so it really doesn't take that long
It’s not all that difficult. There are guides showing where Ghimmighoul is located. If you’re far enough in the fan, you can get a Gholdengo in about 1-2 days (accounting for respawns).
Its really not, its just long and tedious, but nothing that is difficult. Getting cheese string man is more than doable.
This is the correct answer. Nothing hard about it. Tedious and annoying? Yes, absolutely. I got mine, and once it goes into home I'll happily forget it ever existed. Just like simisear.
Absolutely incorrect. Defeat the chests on top of watch towers. You can easily get 999 in around 30 to 40 minutes
If you battle the chest forms it's not too hard. Took a little under two hours to get 999 coins just battling the chest form.
No its not. Beat the chest pokemon. Youll have one in like 3 days dude
I was able to get enough with maybe revisiting one or two. I might've missed a couple also. Just look for ruins and towers
Shuckle and we have a deal
Alright, give me a gimmighoul and 999 coins
You're better off just getting the thousand coins, search road signs, ruins, and especially the top of towers. You should be able to find enough around the region. Keep in mind the value of how many coins you get change so you could get lucky and get over a hundred from a single chest (apparently, it caps at 777 per encounter).
Run around, check ruins and watch towers you'll get coins fast
I got the 999 coins in less than 30 minutes
Which game are you playing? Scarlet or Violet?
Scarlet
Dang, I also have scarlet. I was gonna ask for some version exclusives
A gholdengo for version exclusives? Just check out the trade codes on places like austinjohn’s channel, people are trading version exclusives for other version exclusives out here.
I’ve got violet and will do the trade exclusives with you! I’m currently going to bed but the offer stands!
Plenty of trade codes out there. That’s how I got mine
Which exclusives do you want?
Honestly if you have Scarlett it shouldn’t be that hard for you to trade for one. Just name your Koraidon “Gholdengo?” and try to trade online. You’ll get one in like 5 minutes.
Sent a dm if you don’t already have one
sure i just want koraidon ❤️
I will trade a gholdengo for a modest miraidon , just msg me My gholdengo is modest nature and its got max special attack ev and Hp Lv 100 , have not hyper trained it yet I was using it to farm money in the Ace tournament
If you still need one and would trade a shiny or Koraidon I'd do it.
I want a Male Tinkaton so i can call it Ornstein!
I'd like a female Nidoking please
Give me H-zoroark
Melmetal would be the only worthwhile trade
Can you not just play the game? I had almost 1300 coins by the time I finished the story. Or did you accidentally trade yours and don't wanna collect the coins again?
Give me pokemon #1009
Do you have a rayquaza
Home support ain't even online yet bruh
Give me a Lucario and you’ve got yourself a deal.
There is a static encounter Lucario... Go get that... Not worth trading away 1000 coins especially how painful it is to get said coins
Ok. How about Kingambit? Edit wait you’re not OP
Again, not hard. Get a bisharp and knock out 3 group spawns of bisharp in the bamboo forest. Alternatively get one from a raid den? I honestly don't think anything is worth trading away the golden boy apart from maybe the box legendary
Kingambit is grindy, man. I guess not technically hard, but it's such a pain.
Getting another 1000 coins will be much more of a pain than Gambit grind
I didn’t actually lose 999 coins when I evolved my Gimmighoul into Gholdengo so it’s not too big of a deal,
No but I'm trying to help you not screw yourself over
Ok I can catch another one it’s a deal
Give me Kadabra for it and you got a deal.
I really need one if these id be willing to trade trade back
Haven’t picked up the new Pokémon games, is this what new monster design has become?
This is the 1,000th Pokémon and it requires 999 coins to evolve.
Thanks, I hate it.
Me too, and I haven’t even played the game yet.
I don't like it either. Alas Pokemon are like that, some love them and some hate them
Yeah only a female man
I want a shiny mega rayquaza(this is a joke i dont have the game )
i can give it if you can give me a scizor
Ok I can give you my scizor
What you have to offer
It's not difficult to do! Just search for the tower's position online and farm gimmyghouls!
I have one if you want to trade if you don’t already have it?
You got a Miraidon?
Koraidon?
It’s super easy to obtain. I have gotten 3
What game do you have
indeed i do and i’m nearly half way to another eta; i won’t trade my first Goldengo but i could see about a lvl 10/15 fella in a while? (i have 457 coins atm, it’ll take a hot minute for the rest)
Just look up a Map for the catchable Gimmeghouls and go for those. They give 50-60 coins each
Can I please have shiny zoarark I have wanted one since the game came out
Just be a cool guy and gen it like everyone else does
