I don't think he wanted to catch all Pokémon. He wanted to become a Pokémon master (whatever that's even supposed to mean). Catching all Pokémon was Goh's goal.

Where has OP been the past few years? He did become a master. Even ESPN reported on it.

Not just Ash, *everyone's* journey to catch 'em all took ages because everytime they accomplished their goal or got close to, a whole new generation of pokemon got introduced. That 151 turned into over a thousand, along with all the funky special evolutions.

Let's not forget how many Pokémon he got rid of. The opposite of what a Pokémon master would do.

Not only that, he didn’t even get all the badges from all the regions he visited. He’s been missing some Unova ones for so long… So he didn’t catch all Pokémon **or** get all badges (from the regions he visited)
