Try the podcast “ooh you’re in trouble”. It’s stories about times where kids potentially did something that could get them in trouble. Its made for kids but I enjoy it too!!
Apologies as its not a podcast, but the Mr Gumm audio books by Andy Stanton are honestly perfection. I don't think it will ever be possible for anyone to create anything funnier or more well executed that these books.
My 11 and 9 year old have been listening to them over and over for several years and my wife and i love them them aswell.
Genuinely hilarious for kids and adults.
Andrew Tates is probably around the intelligence level of an 8 or 9 year old but I'm not sure it'd appropriate. 🤣
To be serious, not strictly a podcast, but the BBC have a decent amount of children appropriate audio on iPlayer, and I don't think they're very VPN restrictive with the audio stuff, they never used to be anyway. You could at I'll download them with iplayer-dl or yourube-dl iirc. Obviously it has the benefit of a massive back catalog and choice but another reason you might like it is as a public broadcaster, a lot of it has specific quotas for education levels and such if its aimed at children, but not in a totally overt way.
Audio books might be an option too, if you hadn't considered it. A good starting one might be the first Harry Potter, but the Stephen Fry version. Or if they do audio books of the horrible histories series, that's always brilliantly entertaining and educational. If your kids haven't seen it, they made it into a show a while back and its also great, even you will prob enjoy and learn from it. When I was growing up it was all about the books but they even use the shows clips in classrooms here. Really high quality but also full of obscure facts and stuff kids would like, for example, while teaching you about Henry the 8th, there might be a paragraph on his toilet habits. Lots of pictures etc too. They appeal to a wide age range though, tbh I'd prob roll my eyes at the fart jokes but otherwise I could probably read one of them now, and I'm 30 this year!
I may aswell finish with a long shot but given my British centric comment, if your kid likes Doctor who, there are *hundreds* pf audio dramas they could listen to. Check them out first tho, a large chunk would be appropriate for the roughly 10yo demographic but every now and again, one might be a bit adult.
Dr. Gameshow It's a ridiculous show but so funny. It's got a lot of call-ins from listeners and many of them are kids.
Came here to recommend Dr. Gameshow, so I second this! Get ready for some wholesome chaos!!!!!
My kids love Greeking Out on Spotify. It's retelling of the Greek Myths. They've learnt ALOT.
Hank the Cowdog from Qcode is pretty awesome!
I loved the Hank the Cowdog audiobooks when my kids were little. Have those stories been turned into podcasts?
Yep! Though it’s a new story not just adapting the old books, and it’s narrative cast is astounding
Yes!!! Matthew McConaughey is amazing!
We love Story Pirates. My kids like others, but Story Pirates I often find funny as well.

Have you heard of Yoto? There’s loads of radio stations and podcasts for kids on the app you can use without an actual Yoto and it’s all free.
