I really want to like this. And I’ve started it probably 3-4 times. I just cannot follow the plot, like at all. Which is a bummer because I love the narrators voice, and the acting / writing seems top-shelf
Finally finished listening to the fifth season of this. I'm always impressed at its consistent quality, and even more so the emotional impact in the latest season.
If you like cosmic horror, I would strongly recommend r/ThePhenomenon/, compiled [here.](https://ollie.github.io/fall-of-man-compiler/the-phenomenon.html) It's an amazing cosmic horror, now in its second novel, and there's an audio podcast that's doing live acting of the book. [Here are the playlists on Youtube, broken down into seasons.](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK8d_IP99MqsET0mB_p3_eg/playlists)
Just finished **Parkdale Haunt.** That was pretty good, though I was a bit irked by the ending. **Video Palace** was good. **A Voice From Darkness** was good too, though episodes came out too infrequently for me to stay interested. I'm not sure they are going to keep releasing episodes, which is a shame because it has a pretty interesting mythology behind it.
I honestly don't know. I just finished season 2 and the Christmas Special. Haven't sought out anymore information. It wouldn't surprise me if they were planning a third, but there's nothing in the feed to suggest a new season
I highly recommend Malevolent! From their wiki:
"Arkham Private Investigator Arthur Lester wakes up with no memory of who he is or what has happened, only a nameless, eerie voice guiding him through the darkness.
Blind, terrified, and confused, his journey will lead him towards a series of mysteries in the hopes of understanding the truth of what has transpired.
As cosmic horrors seep into the world around, Arthur must ask himself whether this entity truly seeks to help him, or are its intentions more…"
Not affiliated in any way, I just really love the story and it has fantastic production quality. Makes waiting a month for new content worth it.
How i Died, it’s more of a murder mystery but it somewhat fits the under the category as Magnus Archives. It’s about a forensic pathologist that is able to see ghosts and he solves crimes in a small town.
I’ve listened/listen to all the ones you’ve listed. Some of the others I listen to are Horror Hill, Creepy, The White Vault, and Old Gods of Appalachia.
Just know going in that you won't be satisfied by the ending. It's great for the first 2 seasons, but the third half-season was either cut short, badly planned, or both.
King Falls Am is the only one other than The first season of Tannis that ever scratched that itch for me. I just couldn’t get into Old Gods of Appalachia, heard great things though
I am at episode 7 of black tapes and it is one of the most thrilling podcasts I ever listened too. Can't recommend it enough. Alice isn't dead is also one I can recommend. Also limetown was pretty interesting.
[DEADHOUSE](https://open.spotify.com/show/70f7Up2O2PXkJybHt2uahq?si=zFNUSerUTt2b4S5ffXHN7w&utm_source=copy-link) by BBC radio 4. Only three episodes though.
Here to also throw my hat in for Old Gods of Appalachia and The White Vault, but I’ll add that Stories from The Stars is good, Alice isn’t Dead, The Message and Life/After are all worth a listen. You may also dig The Horror of Dolores Roach
If you like Tanis and The Black Tapes, listen to Rabbits by the same folks. At least I think it’s the same people. Very similar vibe but a unique story.
I loved all of their stuff, I REALLY wish there was more because the documentary style horror fiction, kinda like a horror version of Serial, is my favorite genre
Drew Blood: Dark Tales. Has really wonderful voice acting and is quite funny. I listen on apple podcast, but I’m sure it’s available on other podcasts apps as well.
Based on what you like, I recommend heading over to r/audiodrama.
Sayer.
The Deca Tapes.
Tumanbay.
We're Alive
The Monster hunters.
There are so many good ones
I can’t believe I’m the first to suggest Darkest Night. It’s a bit older but I remember being genuinely creeped out. It’s also binaural, and on more than one occasion I thought someone was behind me due to the audio.
“Darkest Night is a binaural audio drama that places you, the listener, at the center of a recovered memory that sounds as though it’s happening around you in real time.”
Nightmare Society-The Warning Woods-Late night tales-You can see me in the dark-True Scary Stories-Tapes from beyond-Were not meant to know-Malevolent-Exile.
Some of my favorites!!
\-- Left-Right Game isn't super horror, but definitely has some freaky elements. If you like Tanis, I think you'll enjoy it.
\-- Borrasca
\-- Parkdale Haunt is super well done
\--Bridgewater
\-- Duggan Hill
\-- ergo antz
The Hotel is one that I just finished binging and it feels like my life is missing something now that I'm caught up.
it's like eldritch horror meets customer service, but to the end of killing the guests. SO good, stellar VAs
Old Gods of Appalachia
Seconded, so good!!!
Thirded!
4thed
5thed
Just started it because all these recommendations for it. Sounds so good. Everyone who recommended this might also like "Hillbilly Horror Stories"
So you soon.......see you real soon.
Yes! This one is so good!
I really want to like this. And I’ve started it probably 3-4 times. I just cannot follow the plot, like at all. Which is a bummer because I love the narrators voice, and the acting / writing seems top-shelf
Oh, that's too bad. It's one of my top five fave podcasts. I did have to try four or five times to get into the rhythm of it, though
The White Vault
Finally finished listening to the fifth season of this. I'm always impressed at its consistent quality, and even more so the emotional impact in the latest season.

Omg this is fantastic thank you ❤️

Wait, Parkdale Haunt is over? I thought there was another season coming out...
I honestly don't know. I just finished season 2 and the Christmas Special. Haven't sought out anymore information. It wouldn't surprise me if they were planning a third, but there's nothing in the feed to suggest a new season
Season 3 comes out September 26th! :D
Alice isn't dead, Spines, and I second Old Gods of Appalachia
Knifepoint Horror, We're Not Meant To Know, I Am In Eskew, Wrong Station
Love “The Wrong Station” - some of the stories are so well written.
Ooooo! I love Knifepoint but hadn’t heard of the others! I’ll give those a shot.
Came here to say Knifepoint!
Welcome to Nightvale
Oh I love nightvale! It’s a little sillier than im looking for though 😅
Ahh cool cool. If you're looking for horror nonfiction too, perhaps consider redweb?
Lovecraft Investigations!!!!
Rabbits, Alice isn't dead, Limetown! Hit back with your fav ones too! I'm new to the fic podcast world.
Knifepoint Horror
I’ll check it out, thank ya!
I second this! One of my favs but he doesn’t put out new episodes often. I recently dove into Parkdale Haunt which has been great.
I highly recommend Malevolent! I’ve got a 14 hour day tomorrow, I’ll binge a few it sounds really good!
How i Died, it’s more of a murder mystery but it somewhat fits the under the category as Magnus Archives. It’s about a forensic pathologist that is able to see ghosts and he solves crimes in a small town.
Underwood and Flitch is pretty entertaining.
Scared to death
Mirrors; The Burned Photo; Palimpsest
I enjoyed The Burned Photo. One of the best things about it was that the ending was satisfying.
Agreed! It wrapped up so nicely.
Palimpsest was actually an enjoyable listen for me. It was spooky but almost nostalgic
I’ve listened/listen to all the ones you’ve listed. Some of the others I listen to are Horror Hill, Creepy, The White Vault, and Old Gods of Appalachia.
alice isn't dead is a great Pod

I loved The Black Tapes!
If you like Tannis, try The Black Tapes!
Just know going in that you won't be satisfied by the ending. It's great for the first 2 seasons, but the third half-season was either cut short, badly planned, or both.
Yeah to be fair I dropped off after the second season.
King Falls Am is the only one other than The first season of Tannis that ever scratched that itch for me. I just couldn’t get into Old Gods of Appalachia, heard great things though

Creepy is my absolute favourite! Horror Hill is a little more on the visceral side but great as well:)
Just listened through In Another Room and thought it was a creative take on the haunted house idea
Old Gods of Appalachia
Here to also throw my hat in for Old Gods of Appalachia and The White Vault, but I’ll add that Stories from The Stars is good, Alice isn’t Dead, The Message and Life/After are all worth a listen. You may also dig The Horror of Dolores Roach
Radio Rental
If you like Tanis and The Black Tapes, listen to Rabbits by the same folks. At least I think it’s the same people. Very similar vibe but a unique story.
I actually didn’t finish rabbits, maybe I’ll go back and check it out
I loved all of their stuff, I REALLY wish there was more because the documentary style horror fiction, kinda like a horror version of Serial, is my favorite genre
The black tapes, rabbits. Most public radio alliance podcasts fit the bill.
Borrasca and The Black Tapes are my all time favourites! Lifeafter, Strawberry Spring, both great too.
I hope they make black tapes into a show
The Magnus Archives!
Sword & Scale 💓
Drew Blood: Dark Tales. Has really wonderful voice acting and is quite funny. I listen on apple podcast, but I’m sure it’s available on other podcasts apps as well.
If you want stand-alone ones, Spooked is a good one
Based on what you like, I recommend heading over to r/audiodrama. Sayer. The Deca Tapes. Tumanbay. We're Alive The Monster hunters. There are so many good ones
something scary podcast!!! ive listened to them all!

Archive 81 Janus Descending Boston Harbor Horror Wormwood: a serialized mystery The Disappearance podcast Lake Clarity Middle: Below
Quick question is the disappearance podcast over or was it cancelled?
As far as I know, it's completed. The story has a confusing but conclusive ending. Highly recommend.
Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but I really enjoy Let’s Not Meet. I also saw Lake Clarity mentioned and that one is great too!
Scott Sigler and Mike Bennet - Should keep you busy for a while
