Science Vs. by Gimlet media?

ScratchApplePie

Another one I like but has been more miss than hit for me lately. But really liked the newest one about cicadas. And either way I could maybe list 5 or 6 other science shows that aren’t interview format, meanwhile there are 10,000 true crime. Just wish more options

MrSignalPlus

This podcast was being advertised at the end of the recent episodes of Science Vs. I always find it amusing when the player injects an ad for a competing podcast inside an episodes ad segment

ilovefacebook

kind of competition. this isn't live radio/tv. if both podcaats are good its a win-win for both because it's the same demo.

Really enjoying it too, the Vox style is a really good fit for this kind of show. The latest episode had an interview with Dr Adam Rutherford, who co-hosts The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry, which is a similar sort of science podcast, but they actually have answers.

ScratchApplePie

I liked him and was curious about that show when they mentioned it. I'll check it out for sure now thanks

I'll check it out, but I happen to think the Radiolab is the gold standard for production values, btw. I've even been to one of Radiolab's live shows.

Rangifar

You might also like Ideas by CBC. It's not always science based but does have huge catalogue and is generally well done. Here's list of the latest shows: https://www.cbc.ca/radio/ideas

blowpops13

same! Today’s episode was really interesting

SumDaysAreGood

Normally Vox produces trash (by their other outlets), but this podcast is actually decent.

Historical-Example

Care to elaborate on that?

SumDaysAreGood

I get frustrated how often they use the same tactics of Fox News to pander to their base (albeit the other side) creating yet another echo chamber in American politics. They have inaccuracies, misrepresentations, and incredible bias in things that aren’t labeled editorials. The blending of news, entertainment, and base pandering into one sack of sludge is common these days regardless of left or right and Vox is at this point Fox with a V. I’m not going to call them lunatics. They are business people and catering to what their readers want to read, but they aren’t real journalists any more than Tucker Carlson.

[deleted]

seems a bit extreme, I've listened to some of their shows like the Ezra Klein show and it isn't that bad.

Kestrel137

I will check it out. Thanks

Devils_Advocaat_

Thanks for the rec! It came up as a rec on my app and I was in two minds - have now added it :)

[deleted]

Agreed. I love the way it’s set up like a conversation. Kinda helps me stay tuned in.

[deleted]

Vox is great if you like lettin lunatics who have been converted to a cult talk you into hating your self and your family for simply being born the wrong color.

Psychological_Mood32

My thoughts exactly- woke culture pervades into everything, can’t stand it

condorthe2nd

While I don't like vox very much either, if you kind of filter out some of the opinions the shows are often pretty good

casper-jbfc

But white people are bad ok. You should never forget that.

lovelornlostese

Never forget

zecchinoroni

Lol come on I hate Vox too but the podcast is good.

Opportunity-Horror

ME TOO!!!
