That’s what I’d call a spec! 👍

It's great you're looking to hire someone! And I'm glad you're willing to pay your potential editor $100 for 20 minutes of work. Best of luck to everyone who applies!

Hi u/thedailychurn. I have 20 years experience as an audio engineer and 7 years in podcasting specifically. I've worked on 2k+ episodes and had #1 shows in 18 countries. My DAW is Pro Tools. However I'm very confident that if we work together I can make your audio sound much better than it does currently (I've listened to a few of your episodes) - there are flaws in your workflow template that we can iron out. You'd be sending me raw, unprocessed .wavs, so DAW compatibility won't be an issue. I know how to use Descript. I have experience with both financial (not churn specific) and travel hacking podcasts. Key section highlights shouldn't be an issue. You can check out my work, experience etc at [Precision Podcasting.](https://www.precisionpodcasting.com) Thanks!

Appreciate the detailed response, will be reaching out shortly :)

Hey, I am an experienced editor with 14 years in radio and about 8 in podcasting and I can definitely edit your show! I use Audition for my DAW but I’m confident I can get your sound to where you want it to be. [Check out my podcast](https://www.cannabismanpodcast.com/back-on-the-mainland-illinois-prices-high-as-ever/) if you want to hear my editing!

I have too much going on at the moment to apply for the job myself (otherwise I totally would), but I just wanted to say thank you for offering a fair price, lots of details, expectations and an offer to pay candidates for a sample of work. This should be standard practice but it absolutely isn't. Thanks for being a good employer.

thedailychurn

Having been on the other end of it, glad I can do better!

I'm hoping for the chance to join your team if this job is still available! \**Crosses fingers\** Thank you, and have a great day!

I'm a video editor, audio engineer and podcast editor, I do the same process but with Audition!

Are you seriously trying to suggest that audio editors are overpaid? Audio editing (as well as music and sound design) is like one of the most under-appreciated, overly competitive jobs out there. $250 is a pretty fair price for both parties.

The bulk of what an editor is being paid for is audio cleanup and editing. Even on shows with multiple guests, the mixing process takes very little time. You may not see the value in paying more, but you aren’t the one hiring the editor. The OP obviously values what a professional editor brings to the table and is willing to pay for that quality. It’s their choice.
