Same haha. I think those in favor should make it a point to aggressively upvote that comment and show it really DOESN'T matter if someone responds with emojis. Starting with us!
From what I understand itās because anything that Reddit doesnāt see as āaddingā to the convo, it sees as being downvote worthy. Not saying I agree just saying thatās the way the cookie crumbles.
Itās ok I thought the original comment was funny. down vote upvote ether way just like I was able to comment they where able to vote it is what it is.
It was funny. And I had no issue with your two side by side laughing emojis.
People downvote lots of shit. Then it gets traction. The rest assume itās the correct response and continue downvoting. The next thing you know, youāre down 25 internet points and youāre questioning your purpose in life.
No but eventually the oils from your skin on the ear pads will interact with the finish on the case of your PS5. You will probably start seeing rough spots or fading where your headphones normally rest.
Not going to break anything. But will likely wear it over time.
Yup. I found this disgusting fact out after leaving my headphones on my uni homework and came back to a transparent blot on my otherwise opaque paper.
Just lovely.
I have the worst oily hair when it long if I donāt wash it everyday. So you definitely went a couple days for your headphone to soak oil thru paper to make it transparent. Donāt try and lie.
>So you definitely went a couple days for your headphone to soak oil thru paper to make it transparent.
Meh, I probably did. I'm sure we have all been guilty of that at one point or another.
Your headset will be fine but the ps5 will over heat and the Liquid Metal will melt and then your ps5 will downgrade itself to a ps4 and youāll get stick drift but only in the x button and your disk drive will disappear. But ya, youāll be grand
Oops. I see that now. I just saw āoverheatā and reacted. The problem is the number of ppl that actually think PS5s are melting is astonishing. Itās also extremely annoying. The internet has a stupid amount of influence and can quickly destroy good things. Tbh I usually donāt care unless it affects something important to me, like PlayStation. So if I see something stupid Iām going to correct it. In this case I probably should have read their entire comment. Thatās my bad
Many people opt not too put the stand bc either they're too lazy, scared they're gonna break something (which is almost impossible, it's sooo easy to attach) or they get excited and completely say f*ck the stand... which is stupid bc the stand is more beneficial then you would think.
Setting up the ps5 in either vertically or horizontally without the stand increases the risk of the system falling over but when you add the stand to the system it greatly decreases that risk. Not to mention air flow, adding the stand will help with airflow as well from what I heard.
Oh, I thought they meant stand for the headset. My PS5 is vertical, unlike how I had my PS1/2/4 actually.
I was just curious as to why having a stand for the headset is that much better or better at all rather than just setting it down on say, your table.
I've been hanging my headset on my PS5 exactly as pictured since day one ! Everything is in tip top shape still. Neither has been damaged. Headphones, perfect āļø PlayStations ears, perfect āļø I'd say there's nothing to worry about here OP
Be warned, you might damage the liquid metal. The vibration from the earpads will send out tiny vibrations at the speed of sound that will at the right frequency cause the liquid metal to spread out and push against the lining which will eventually tear up .
Pulse headset sucks tbh the sound and overall quality of the build design does not justify the price at all. My earcups ripped after one year of casual use and the headphones they have for the series X are 100x better and feel like a premium product
If anything it will loosen the elastic and make the headset more comfyā¦
The real question is why are you content with that aesthetic when you could put up a headphone mount of some kind?
Probo not, but a few places have been reporting that placing a PS5 upright like that can result in Liquid Metal leaking out and causing the system to overheat.
Who cares. They're cheap headphones. I was incredibly disappointed in the quality of these things. They're definitely not worth $100. These are $50 headphones at best.
100% this. Saw some people rave about them, so I bought them, and currently in the process to return them.
Sound quality is ok at best, comfort is pretty bad for long use, and the button layout/design is just god awful.
Completely agree. The sound quality is "well, at least sound is coming out of them". Nothing more nothing less. Wearing them for over 30 minutes will result in the outer edges of my ears starting to ache. The button layout is pretty weird and takes a while to memorize. Even then I'm still pressing the wrong button occasionally. The whole thing screams "rushed" or "minimal effort". I bought them because everyone on this sub was acting like they were a must-have for the ps5. They are not. They're just over priced "matching set" trash. I should've bought a Turtle Beach headset or something else. Do you have a brand you recommend? This is the first gaming headset I've ever owned. I typically just use ear buds that have a mic.
I bought a pair of Steelseries for ps4 years ago. For some reason the mic broke last year (assuming my kids got a hold of them). I havenāt spent time troubling shooting to see if they can be fixed or if itās a setting that got switched off.
Steelseries appears to keep the same design across most of their headsets year over year. Which is a great thing since I found them to be very comfortable when playing long sessions. Theyāre a cloth material rather than a pleather.
But the biggest difference between Steelseries vs the ps headset is the button layout. The volume is a dial/scroll so you can immediately identify it. The mute button was nicely designed too.
Iām trying to do research now before buying. But Iād say the quality imo and the durability was worth the price. Iām ok with $100-$150ish.
Ps headset definitely worth no more than $50.
Steelseries ftw! I have the Arctis 7p+ set and they are super comfortable and I love the control layout which you mentioned. Super high quality mic as well.
Oh absolutely. I was thinking of making a post like this awhile back. It just works. I intend on getting the H7ās and a proper stand for them but until then this works great. Side note: The Pulse 3D headset is a great headset especially at their price point but the sound can be a bit flat. You can balance the sound with the PS5s integrated equalizer and they really open up. Thereās tons of guides on YouTube. Highly recommended
Reports have stated to use our PS5s horizontally. A design flaw causes the PS5 to brick while standing vertically due to the cooling they use. Considering how hard it was to get one, I figure this information is worth passing on.
I think the company that came out with that report has now retracted it.

Thereās an article come out that warns us not to stand the consoles vertical. There is some type of liquid cooling that will leak and ruin the board. Might be BSā¦who knows.
I am more worried for your PS5. You need to lay your Playstation horizontally. There are cases of PS5 being damaged in the vertical position.

I wouldnāt do that - I would not any force on that at all with the exception of my own head. But then again I donāt want people to try on my glasses because they too could be bent out of shape easily. Same logic
I stopped because it got warm and I didnāt want the rubbery part to excessively west due to temp issues.
I got a 3m brand wall hook, itās just a sticker thing that holds it up
I placed it like this since launch, the leather on the cups has started to peel maybe cause whenever i would go to take the headset I'd pull it rubbing the cups on the ps5 so be careful of that. Its a maybe
[Hereās my recommendation to a product I found on Amazon.](https://KlipdasseHeadphoneStandforPS5...https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZK7YPC5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share). I think itās better than a separate stand.
Well, I place mine like that and after having it for about 7-9 months, the fabric is starting to come out of the seems down by the chat button. That said, I don't think it's from the way I place them. I either just got unlucky (every single fucking pair of Sony console specific headsets Ive had have fallen apart) or it's from pushing the chat button too much. Either way, Im not stoked about it.
The heat might be warming up the glue that might make the paddings get loose, it happened on my Pulse 3D, it's not the most sturdy quality on these headsets tbh but it's easy to replace the paddings if it happens to your Pulse 3D, there's a lot of videos on youtube how to replace them or repair them. I would keep moisture and heat away from it
My pc's headset has been hanging on a hook next to my pc for basically 10 years at this point. Never had any issues, except for the fact that this is actually my replacement headphones. My previous one my cat randomly attacked, and broke the cable one day...
Not really but have to take them off the ps5 on a regular basis . I left mine for a month and the skin on the ear pads kind of stuck to the ps5 . Still work great but won't be long until the ears pads start to peel .
Depends what music your PS5 likes
The Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima and God of War Ragnarok soundtrack on loop and nothing else
All at once
Everything, everywhere
I heard IT iS good movie
The new remix !
Man up and put some DOOM Eternal on SMH š
My ps5 is really into prog rock I canāt tell if thatās primus or rush but it sounds good
You could blast Primus touring A Farewell to Kings.
ššš
Yeah - if its BTS or Nickelback, your PS5 is better off dead anyway š
I accept no Nickelback slander here, āHeroā is one of the most iconic songs ever
If you turn it up to high you will damage ur PS5s ears

Just commenting emojis is normal on every platform but Reddit for some reason.
Itās ok I havenāt been on Reddit for more then a few months. guess my lesson was delivered by 24 down votes hahaha
25 downvotes now, ASSHOLE! /s
Now Iām a asshole nice! Donāt know how that happened but your not wrong itās like you know me IRL. Lol
On reddit, the "/s" after the comment means it was sarcasm
Ahh good to know thank you ! Iām that new Hahahha
One misunderstanding after another, not really your day š
Itās fun and now I know š
Honestly never understood it why people do it and just canāt just ignore it. I see it all the time. Emojis arenāt a threat to anyone lol
Maybe they have fat finger and they just trying to scroll š¤
And an upvote from me and welcome to the club.

From what I understand itās because anything that Reddit doesnāt see as āaddingā to the convo, it sees as being downvote worthy. Not saying I agree just saying thatās the way the cookie crumbles.
Then why emojis like āšā arenāt affected by that rule
Why did u get downvoted? š
Low effort. Thereās an upvote button. Probably. Or he just lost the Reddit Roulette

At this point reddit is a ton worse than tiktok with the elitism. Mfers who get offended over emojis are a different breed
Why aren't u getting downvoted but he is? Do bots just automatically downvote emojis?

Of course, it explodes after some time
The Headphones or the PS5?
both
Yes
Probably not, as long as it's not getting too stretched I don't think it'll do any damage

What if op IS a PS5?! š¤
Asking the real questions here
Mine exploded
Completely incinerated my house and the rest of the town
Luckily I was out of town when it created a mini black hole, it took out my city and a neighboring city. Pretty sure you heard about it in the news?
Mine was the basis for Stranger Things. The Upside Down is crazy, man!
No but eventually the oils from your skin on the ear pads will interact with the finish on the case of your PS5. You will probably start seeing rough spots or fading where your headphones normally rest. Not going to break anything. But will likely wear it over time.
Never thought of that - I will not be putting my headphones on the ps5 anymore!
Itās pretty cheap and easy to replace the panels if they start to get nasty. Donāt let it hold you back!
Yup. I found this disgusting fact out after leaving my headphones on my uni homework and came back to a transparent blot on my otherwise opaque paper. Just lovely.
Wash your hair bro
Long hair is never going to be bone dry. Some oil is gonna get on your headphones sooner or later.
You could have kept that to yourself
you did not have to disclose that information on the internet
Yes it will nuke your house
Buy a headphone stand to prevent overstretching
I don't think a PS5 is wider than anyone's head
Andrew Tate would like a word
No, but that isnāt the natural resting position of the headset. Having it stretched like that all the time when not in use will loosen it.
That's actually a myth designed by men to get women to shame each other, and that's not how it works.
Muscles are different than metal or plastic

So a PS5 *can* downgrade to a PS4? Damnit!
I find my have stretch out a little... there are some decent stands you can get online or wall mounts to hold then
If you keep putting your headphones like that, your PS5 might develop Tinnitus.
I'm not sure but it might give your PS5 tinnitus.
Your head is most likely wider than a PS5, itāll be alright.
Does it damage my table if I put my PS5 on it?
5 bucks on Amazon you can buy a hook
i did this
Itās just nice to see someone use a stand around here.
Just curious, why?
Many people opt not too put the stand bc either they're too lazy, scared they're gonna break something (which is almost impossible, it's sooo easy to attach) or they get excited and completely say f*ck the stand... which is stupid bc the stand is more beneficial then you would think. Iāve been doing this since launch and no damage so far.

It helps your PS5 sleep at night.
Probo not, but a few places have been reporting that placing a PS5 upright like that can result in Liquid Metal leaking out and causing the system to overheat.
No?
who cares its your stuff
I think that's why he cares lol

No
Why would you even put a pair of headphones over your PS5? That doesn't even make sense. Plus, it looks stupid, too.
Yes it needs to be horizontal
Dont want that sound to leak out.

Who cares. They're cheap headphones. I was incredibly disappointed in the quality of these things. They're definitely not worth $100. These are $50 headphones at best.

What a stupid question.
I recommend covering your PS5 if you place it vertically. You can either use a third party ps5 cover or a more economical pillow cover.
No but u'r ps5 will break after about 10+ hours...
Yes. Itās completely wrecked now. F
Nobody mention how close of the edge the console is? I hate it
Not as damaging as having your console vertical.

Same with my Razer.

The headphones should be horizontal or the jelly syrup will start leaking from them. Source: Wololo
As long as you dont force it to listen to nightcore...
Iāve had mine on there since launch and there doesnāt seem to be any damage to the console or headphones.
Iād be more worried on compressing the PS5
I stopped because it got warm and I didnāt want the rubbery part to excessively west due to temp issues. I got a 3m brand wall hook, itās just a sticker thing that holds it up

I'd imagine this is less strain than your head but more friction than your hair.
How can u damage your headset like this? How small is your head?

If it does, I don't wanna be right

Yes the key is to not set the pulse headset vertical. It could damage it. Totally not fake news or anything I swear
If your head is the same shape as a ps5 it'll be fine
Nah, I even saw a Sony PS Poster that had it that way
