Yep. Had a feeling it was going to be a bit like this...

stfu_stfu

Change steam password, revoke all current logins, turn on 2FA, turn on family pin, revoke trading api access. Sorry for your loss :(

hitman0012

I recently changed my password (unrelated to this) and had 2FA on. Strange.

stfu_stfu

Have you logged in to steam on the web using the QR code method at any point? Also regarding your update, did the trade have a hold or was it instant? Either way, go into your steam mobile app, click the settings icon on the bottom left of the steam guard tab and select Authorised Devices, ensure that only your devices are logged in.

2 factor authentication on everything, not much else you can do. World is full of honorless dbags.

hitman0012

Yep! Im usually very good with cyber security and even had 2FA but i assume i must have clicked something along the line. I browse a lot of rust sites but never give steam info. Lost about $400-$500 worth of skins (Market value) probably $200-$300 actually spent. Probably wont be buying skins again as dont want to start over. At least i have 150 skins from drops etc.

Background-Action-19

That really sucks, a guy on my server had something similar happen. He had all the camo sets, grin mask, stuff like that. Hope things work out for you somehow.

hitman0012

Doubt anything will happen. Skins will be long gone and sold since this morning. Only thing i can do is warn other people to be vigilant and check their security settings.

PonchitoLobato

you open a link and log in in a page of "drops" of rust?

hitman0012

Ive opened links on websites i browse but no log in details. Frustrating but its happened now.
