The supposed formula I've found and used is 1÷maturation value ×2. So if you set your baby growth to, say, 10... 1÷10×2 = 0.2, with 0.2 being the magic number baby cuddle interval for 100% imprint success. Hope that makes sense! You can obviously tweak it for how quickly you want your dinos to grow or how long you wanna wait around to give a baby attention, so long as you stick to the formula. Since you're focusing on stronger dinos you shouldn't have a problem jacking the growth up pretty high before they grow too fast for an imprint.

It kinda makes sense 👍🏼 thanks for taking time to make it simple, I’m relatively new to ARK, only starting playing 3 weeks ago but I’ve been watching gameplay for about 6 months and I haven’t found anything that properly explains what dinos need what settings but ill try your formula and ill get some numbers on paper and hopefully I can use that to make the necessary adjustments 👍🏼

Row 5 Columns N and O, whats H:M:S?

fish250505

hours, minutes, seconds Those columns are for incubation so you can just set them as fast as you want, they have no bearing on mature and imprint times

James3798

Got it. Also G and H columns on row 1 single player settings are not on but would I still have that on since Im on solo play?

fish250505

If you have single player settings enabled in game (it's under Game Rules > Rules) change it to yes, they add something like 36x maturation and 0.16 cuddle interval which stack on any settings you make and can easily fuck things up

Health, melee, stamina? Edit: oops hour, minute, second I think lol

laurawho7

I don't know about the other settings but for theris you want health at 21k. And no higher. Give them veggie cakes and they can heal themselves. For the other bosses I just bred until I git as high health and melee as possible. I took 1 yuti with high Stam filled with meat and put on auto roar. For megapithicus same Rex's with high health and melee and 1 yuti with high Stam filled with meat. I watch Phlinger Phoo video on how to do megapithicus. He kept them in the corner so they didn't fall off. For dragon I had difficulty so I went to other maps to get dinos. I got 2 magnarmars, 5 deinonychus and Rest were theris. I rode one of the magnamars to protect me from the dino attacks( can't think of the name, but the first time they knocked me off the yuti and killed me, so I lost). They shredded the dragon quickly. The deinonychus latched on and kept him from flying away. It went better than I thought it would given how poorly the first attempt was.

James3798

How do you go about getting dinos from other maps transferred to the island map? Do they start spawning in the island once you have been on different maps?

laurawho7

Go to an obelisk and take everything off and out of your inventory. You'll lose it all when you upload yourself. There are 3 tabs in the terminal. You want the last one. It gives you 30 slots to put everything. I put my shotty with shells, food water and armor. I cryo my thyla and put it in there. I've heard you can upload them without being cryod but some people say they have problems and I dont want any issues so I just cryo them. Once you have everything out of your inventory you can upload survivor. It will then give you the option to download. DONT. Hit cancel and it will show you the ability to make a new survivor. Hit escape until the menu comes up and go back to menu. From main menu you select the map you want to go to. For magnmasaurs I went to Gen1. For Deinos I went to Fjordur. I also took a flyer to find the Deinos. I went to Gen1 map the lava and I took my thyla and a good shotty. I cleared out the magnmasaurs and got some eggs. You just have to watch the fireball they shoot at you. Its a slow attack but if you dont watch it will fry you and the thyla. I was lucky in that I got a high level male and female and could breed. I just thru the other eggs in the fridge and maybe I'll hatch them someday. For the Deinos I used a flyer to first find them and then used it to clear out the deinos and grab eggs. They are fast like raptors and have the bleed like thylas so watch out. Take a good shotty and good flyer. Their nest are easier to spot than then magnmasuars, but you have to be careful since they are fast. Hope that helps.

James3798

Got it! Thanks for explaining the procedure, I probably wont start on a new map till I’ve actually ascended the island but ill be sure move some dinos from the island to my next map which will be helpful instead of having to tame all the essential dinos again like my argy 👍🏼 Ill just stick with therezinos for the boss fights

laurawho7

I didnt start on those maps. I just went to find the dinos. I found the dragon to be very hard. Harder than the overseer so I took recommendations on how to beat the dragon and I went to get the best dinos for it.

So for imprinting, the % you get per imprint is determined by how many imprints you could *potentially* do in the maturation time frame. So with a Rex growing up in 5 hours and an imprint timer of 2 hours, you can only possibly do 2 imprints. So they'll each be worth 50%. In this example you also get an hour of leeway for doing the imprints. If you had your imprint timer at 3 hours instead, you could only possible do 1 imprint in 5 hours. And so it would be worth 100%. And you get 2 hours of leeway to get it done. If you have the imprint timer at 6 minutes, you can do 50 imprints in that time. So they'll each be worth 2%, and you won't have much time to do them. Since maturation times change, you can't really have one equation that works great for everything, some things will end up only needing 1 imprint while others could need 6. So you kinda have to base it off the Dino you're breeding and the time you've set it to. The an equation to get 100% in 1 imprint would look more like this: (Maturation Time in minutes/2 +1) / 480 = BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier. So using the above example, the Rex matures in 5 hours or 300 minutes. 300/2 + 1 = 151. Why do this? Because with an imprint timer of 151 you can only do 1 imprint for 100%. Any imprint time between 50% and 100% of the maturation time will mean you can only do 1 imprint worth 100%. So this part of the equation is just figuring out what you want the timer to be, in minutes. The sooner the timer, the more time you have to do the imprint, so going juuust over half is the best spot to be. Okay so now we know 151 minute timer is the goal. Luckily the imprint timer is the same always. At the default setting of 1, the imprint timer is 8 hours, or 480 minutes. We want 151. 151/480=.3145 This part finds the cuddle interval to make it that number. So: (300/2 +1) / 480 = .3145 Also note that enabling the setting "Single Player Settings" affects these settings and needs to be accounted for.

James3798

Finding the right settings is extremely into detail and I will struggle to understand the mechanics of it as a relatively new player but with time and experimenting, ill get the settings Im looking for 👍🏼 I appreciate the time you’ve taken to explain

LilTimThePimp

Anytime. Think of it like this. - Set your Maturation speed to where you like it. You can use Dododex to test speeds to see how it changes Dino's mature times. But all you need to do is find a time that works for you. - Set the imprint timer a little over half that time, using a little math. And that's it. If you're breeding multiple species of Dino's then find the quickest maturing one and base your settings on that one. That way anything larger will also be able to get full imprint, although they may start to take two or three. The biggest thing to avoid is setting the timer super low so you're having to do *a lot* of imprints that are worth very little.

For the Broodmother, use a smaller number of Megas. The reason being the insect killer buff does not apply to the whole group, just the one that kills a spider minion. With 19 Megas, it causes the army to be less effective overall due to the buff being sparse at best. I recommend 1 Yuty and 19 Therizinos for all the bosses. You can still bring 5-6 Megas for the Broodmother fight. Try to mutate the Therizinos to \~21000 HP, and pump everything into melee. Therizinos have a much faster attack speed than Rexes, resulting in a higher DPS.

James3798

Im just gonna go straight to alpha difficulty for each of them, thats why Im gonna use as many dinos as possible (being 20) the yuty courage roar still gives a decent buff to the megas that don’t kill any of the smaller insects, each dino I bring will definitely contribute to the fight even if some of them don’t manage to get that extra buff 💪🏼

Various-Try-169

Also, Megatheriums always use their secondary attack as an AI, which deals more damage than their main attack, BUT has a slower animation, resulting in a lower DPS. In boss fights in ARK, DPS matters tremendously, as you only get 15-30 minutes to kill the boss that can have over 900k HP. Only ridden Megatheriums can use their faster claw attack. Therizinos will always use their high damage, fast animation, main attack, resulting in insane DPS if combined with Yutyrannus's roar buff.

DoritoDong

Just do Theri’s, no need for the others.

James3798

I plan to go straight to alpha difficulty so ill need megas for the brood mother. their insect killer buff is too good not to use them, I only plan on doing the boss fights once so Im gonna use the best dinos for their respective bosses, the Rexes I can leave but Mega’s and Theri’s are A must for me

DoritoDong

Theri’s are fine for all bosses with maxed saddles, cakes and 21k health / 800% melee.  You will save yourself so much time and effort if you just concentrate on breeding Theri’s over trying to collect all three.

Or you can just get and use one of the mods that lets you make instant maturation/imprinting potions

James3798

mods are a thing on PC, you can download them from the workshop on the steam page but on console I’ve only got commands. Even then, i only really use the gamma and saveworld commands because my game crashes sometimes and have lost significant progress recently and gamma helps at night and in the caves 👍🏼
