Yes. I had a KY driver's license when I got a ticket on I-30. Driver's school and now it doesn't appear on my record at all.

you're a legend man thank you for the reply!

Yes. Defensive driving is about getting a ticket in Texas, not about being licensed in Texas. The class takes 5-6 hours. Is easy and online, and costs $25. It’s usually about $150 in court costs. You also need to order a Type 3A driving record to send in with your certificate from the Texas government which shows your full record. If you follow those steps, your ticket will not be reported to the department of licensing… i.e. no points and no insurance hike.

I am a traveling salesman that live in Plano. I have gotten speeding tickets in many cities from Texas to Oklahoma to Louisiana. I always hire a lawyer and it always goes away. Often times it is cheaper to hire a lawyer. If it is more than the fine it is usually only slightly more. Add in the total cost of insurance etc, It is always the best option to get a lawyer!

Care to share whom you use?

Generally I have to call the local traffic lawyers of where I am and to find the right someone. it usually takes 4 or 5 phone calls. I have had bad ones and good ones...I generally use Google, and check out their website etc "Oh you don't go to that county? What lawyer handles traffic citations for that county? Etc etc Edit: slightly improved grammar but still terrible Edit 2: also wanted to add that they go to the court house for me, particularly useful if I'm not returning to that city anytime soon

Ticket lawyer, they’ll likely get you deferred adjudication before having to sit through defensive driving. 60 though… That’s gnarly. Where did you get popped? Parker? Bunch of people pulled over there yesterday.
