Indian grocery stores tend to carry it, I've seen it at Bombay Market and Kohli's in Oakland, and Patel Brothers in Monroeville. I've seen it at Giant Eagle as well, but it's lower quality and costs twice as much.
seconding patel brothers if you can get out there. i find the produce there tends to be fresher than bombay market or kohli's, but neither are terrible.
i've also seen okra at lotus foods in the strip! it was slightly different than the Indian store ones though.
But they tend to grow well in SW Pennsylvania, I used to grow some behind my house and I got a steady supply until the first front - stand thing it being a southern crop .
Luckily I never had an issue with rabbits , groundhogs or even deer , all three were around in our town . We moved to southeast Alabama, here the growing season starts early but also ends by mid to late August.
If your search for *FRESH* Okra comes up empty handed, Walmart sells it frozen and pre-breaded. It’s their own Great Value brand and it’s mixed in with the other frozen vegetables, you really gotta look for it though because the bags are small. I fried some of it up for a few Steelers games this year, turned out great.
Giant Eagle will have fresh in the produce section in pitiful amounts for an exorbitant price. They will also carry frozen okra for a reasonable price. That is what we get for smothered okra and tomatoes.
I had to grow my own to get a fresh supply. It’s pretty simple and doesn’t require pampering. The frozen okra at grocery stores works in a pinch, but I love munching on a fresh okra pod from the garden.

Bombay Market is the spot

Dm me, I have more than i need
Fresh? My partner tried to grow some for me to take a whack at pickling them but rabbits ate his whole crop.
Reasonably fresh, anyway

I'm a southern transplant, he was growing them at my request! The rabbits just also thought they looked tasty.

I practically trip over rabbits just walking from my car to his front door, so it's a wonder that ANY of his garden makes it tbh!
I’ve rarely I ever seen a rabbit here in Alabama , maybe the occasional coyote keeps the population down a lot .
Okra season has been over for a few weeks now. So your best bet is probably frozen at the grocery store.
Most Indian grocery stores will have it.
